Very disappointed and disgusted in Anthony pepe estate agents and very rude and unprofessional staff.
They were trying to keep my holding deposit for a property on Caversham Avenue N13 because I failed referencing and my partner passed.
When Stefan called me following up the referencing process was extremely rude and basically attacked me for the fact that I failed referencing and then Abigail emailed to say they will be part refunding me so because of failing referencing they felt they had the right to keep my holding deposit.
I didn’t back down new laws state a holding deposit must be refunded.
IT IS ILLEGAL.
so eventually Stephanie (a manager) agreed to refund me back but refused to give it all back she insisted that she kept £20 for referencing me.
Just shocking please all read between the lines there are many traps and added fees for this agent to keep hold of your money!!

Aside from being consistently rude, patronising and generally incompetent (felt slight prejudice undertones during conversations with them) They have lied numerous times about very specific information and have violated specific consumer laws such as unsafe electrics within the property (trips out the whole house, numerous non working sockets and dodgey room to room wiring)

We have been reasonable with requests such as cleaning damp that was supposed to be cleaned prior to moving in and being met with general hostility and being told to ‘clean it yourself’ a direct quote...insanity. Some requests have been out right ignored.

Not to mention them being cahoots with the landlord. Sending over electricians that aren’t registered electricians but family friends and empty fulfilment of promises and responsibilities.

The whole experience has been a nightmare from start to finish. Unacceptable service.

Judging by the amount of fake reviews on here and their over eagerness to reply to negative ones goes to show the state of it. Not to mention the ludicrous prices post moving out that they’re quoting us from thin air from a ‘cleaner’

Considering taking it higher as I am genuinely shocked at their business and don’t feel comfortable letting something like this continue on.

Don’t rent from them and may god be with who ever rents with them next.

Anthony Pepe were our buyers agent, but without Ari’s hard work in pulling a very difficult and long chain together, plus doing all the liaison between all the various agents, and at a very difficult time while the world was in lockdown, we would never have reached completion. Thanks Ari, your hard work and professionalism is very much appreciated.

Andy Thripp has many fake good reviews left on ESTA site by family and friends.
A load of con artists with not an ounce of genuineness.

Mina Gadelrab from Anthony Pepe was admirable right the way throughout the selling process. This was particularly the case when there were problems with the sale of the flat with the lease and a freeholder that lives in Cyprus made even more difficult with the Covid-19 lockdown. However Mina was terrific; persistent and dogged (chasing three sets of solicitors who needed great deal of pushing), honest and very good at communicating. I could not recommend this agency more highly.

They are the worst. They lied to us about contract updates, they are unbelievably rude and, worst of all, they are totally incompetent. They are clowns of the highest order... I mean, their own staff write in and give themselves 5 stars on google ... what does that tell you ?

Just bought a flat sold by Anthony Pepe Islington branch. Tim & Paolo have been very helpful throughout the process. I definitely recommend them

Amazing service. Working with the Highbury office has been amazing! Andrea and Paolo assisted me during all the process for buying my first flat. They always replied me as soon as they can and helped me even for tasks that weren't managed by them.
Nothing to complain, 100% sure I will work with them again if needed

Poor communication and incompetent. Had to chase for responses and then usually the information provided was incorrect. Massive admin fees for no service.

In response to the company reply below, there were no discrepancies between the figures provided and documentation to support referencing - I request you remove this potentially libelous statement immediately.

We did not pay the company anything - this doesn't mean that the fees that they intended to charge are not over the top.

Whilst we asked innumerable times for clear information about what was required for referencing we were never given the correct information, e.g. we were never told that the landlord could chose to reject an application, or that a guarantor may not be accepted until WE chased the agent to confirm a date that we'd be able to sign paperwork and move in. In cases like this any admin fee would make you sore, but when its several hundred pounds for you to do their job it seems pretty rich.

Its a shame that this company are more concerned about replying to online reviews than replying to potential customers.

As estate agents go, they are the lowest of the low. Aggressive, pushy and rude, they seem to be lying to the vendor as well as the buyer. I had to pull out of a deal arranged through them because of their inability to get the dialogue between the two interested parties going. Stay away and let some other agent make the money on your property.
