I purchased a pair of battery powered thermal socks from Bertschat. My experience was excellent. The ease of placing the order, receiving the goods well packed and delivered on time as promised with a very high quality product supplied was all fine with no issues.

In Feb 2025 I bought a heated gilet from Ororo and that was my first purchase of heated clothing. While I really like the Ororo gilet, I was disappointed that they don't make any garments with heating in the lower back, which is where I want it most. Secondly, I got a bit fed up with all the promotional emails they kept sending me.
Consequently I decided to look for another provider and found Bertschat. I bought my Bertschat heated hoodie in April 2025 and I've been very pleased with it.

What I like:
+ The hoodie has a heating element in the lower back which is just what I wanted
+ The garment appears reasonably well-made and good quality
+ Even without switching it on, it's still quite a warm piece of clothing
+ The item was delivered promptly and I have not been bombarded with marketing emails
+ Bertschat's batteries are cheaper and have more capacity than Ororo's
+ Also the connector for Bertschat's batteries is a USB-A port which means you could use a generic power bank instead, whereas the Ororo garments have a different connector which means you have to use their batteries which are a bit pricey. Personally I haven't needed to use a power bank because I bought two Bertschat batteries with my hoodie, which I would highly recommend so you never end up with a dead battery and no spare.

What I'm not so keen on:
- With the Ororo gilet, you only have to press the button on the chest to switch it on, whereas with the Bertschat hoodie I have to reach into the pocket to switch the battery on first and then press the button on the chest. I assume this is an added safety feature, to prevent the garment from being turned on accidentally
- The Bertschat logo, which is just the name BERTSCHAT written in large capital letters on the chest, is way too big and too prominent for my liking
- The zip is a bit too exposed compared to other hoodies I have. Because of this I've found it can sometimes scratch my neck. I'd like to see Bertschat improve on this and enclose the zip like M&S do with their hoodies.
- Ororo conceal their batteries inside an inner pocket, leaving the two outer pockets free. With the Bertschat hoodie, however, the battery is in the outer left pocket, which means I come into contact with it every time I put my hands in my pockets
- Also, after many months of repeated use, the cuffs on my Bertschat hoodie have become bobbly. Again, this has not happened with M&S hoodies which have had even more use.

For me, the ultimate heated garment would fuse the best of both Ororo and Bertschat.

Although I have suggested some improvements, I have opted for 5 stars because this hoodie has kept me so warm this winter and helped me to keep my heating bill a bit lower.

For many years I have struggled with cold feet cycling in winter. Your socks have completely changed my experience so I no longer feel any discomfort, even in the coldest of days. Quality product that is easy to maintain. The fob to control the heat is fantastic

The website was easy to use and gave me information on the type of gloves that are suitable for my severe Raynaud's. I chose the dual heating biker gloves with USB rechargeable batteries.
They work very well on my hands and depending on how cold it is outside can restore the heat on my hands within 10 mins.
Several people have seen me wearing them outside and I have directed them to the website- as they didn't know about heated gloves.

I purchased a heated jacket a while ago now so I’ve had a good chance to see how things have been. So ordered the jacket may be a sceptical at the time as to how it would be, a friend had just received one as a present but hadn’t worn it, well mine arrived without any drama I charged the battery powered it up and fantastic, what a brilliant piece of kit the jacket is superb on cold days and stylish as well I’ve had no problems with it at all! Bertschat were easy to deal with quick delivery etc., I can personally recommend both the company and the jacket!

I purchased the socks and was so impressed I ordered the mittens .having tried the cheaper version it's certainly you get what you pay for .As a cyclist they are a game changer.Im now saving up the vest and heated trousers

Bertschat are excellent in every respect. I purchased dual heated gloves and hiking socks from them. The products are excellent quality and are both very comfortable to wear. The battery power lasts for around four hours and provides lovely warmth for hands and feet.

The bad weather hit across Europe just after I ordered. This slowed down the delivery a little but customer service were outstanding! Very understanding and tried to do their very best to track the parcels.

I would highly recommend both the products and customer service/support.

Excellent service, with added bonus of an upgrade due to item stock level. Socks keeping the heat in the feet due to poor circulation following injury from a road accident.

I’ve had the heated socks for a few months now and honestly, I don’t know how I could ride without them now in the cold. My feet get cold even in summer sometimes, depending on the shoes I wear.

In use, with the remote control, they are easy to change on the fly. When we go into a cafe, I turn them down. Out on the road, I can set them to whatever I want.

I’ve washed them a few times, I was scared at first, but they came out without any issues after.

I can now wear a thinner overshoe, which means I’m not catching the crank arms.

My only regret is not getting the taller version as the battery pack interferes with the fastening of most of my overshoes. I’ve had to get some cheap ones and cut them down. I may get the battery extender cables.

All in all, a superb bit of kit that has me looking forward to cold rides instead of having to ride in pain or ride indoors instead.

Excellent gloves just what I’ve been looking for ! Excellent quality. I wish the battery pack could be smaller but other than that I’m really pleased with my gloves .

Great heated dual pro, ski gloves

Used in -10 degrees and super toasty when i normally suffer - but even with a lunch time 1 hr charge didn't last the rest of the day (with extrem+30 batteries), and not always on higher heat mode - will need additional batteries for when its cold

The Bertschat product has made a dismal winter in the UK bearable. I bought a heated hoodie for my partner who feels the cold and has shoulder pain. The hoodie has been marvellous in keeping her warm AND relieving the shoulder pain. I would recommend.

I purchased Heated Socks PRO - Hiking Edition USB on 2025-12-14 for £159.99. The item arrived promptly and were as described in the sales literature. In fact, as Bertschat could get my exact order to me by the due date they upgraded me to the next quality up. The quality of the socks is good and they look robust but only been using them for 6 weeks.

I have used the socks on 8 rides during January/February in North East England, near Newcastle upon Tyne – totalling about 16 h. This has been achieved on one charge and there is still sone charge left in the batteries. It hasn’t been really cold – in the range 2 – 8 °C (avg 5 °C) say and I have used the Low setting but I’m really impressed. On the coldest rides 2/3 °C my feet were nice and toasty even after 2 h. Normally I would be starting to suffer.

In summary, quite pricey, but good quality, and they deliver on the promise of warm feet. I can now cycle for extended periods of cold weather. What next – heated gloves?

Christmas gift for my husband. Bought from Bertschat rather than a competitor as I wanted to deal with a UK based Customer Service in the event of any issues.
Good product and excellent customer service received when I needed to exchange for a larger size.

Great web store with easy ordering and fast delivery. Bought a Cooling pro cap and absolutely love it. It is so very comfortable (most caps with hot and itchy after a while) even when wearing for long periods of time in the sunshine.

Customer services were extremely helpful. It took 3 goes to get the right size gloves!
