why this is a fantastic gym centre
This is a fantastic gym centre, the steam room, the pool, and the staff are all fantastic because pretty much everyone is from the area, and that gives a very strong family vibe, you feel safe and supported.

Good overall
The service and cleanliness is great, swimming pools are clean and warm.
The only downside is the app. It’s very confusing, the type of contract is not visible, it doesn’t send confirmation emails. It needs good investment as it hasn’t been changed for many years

We've also looked at the issue you've experienced with your confirmation email.
There's currently more than one account linked to your email address, which is causing this problem.
When more than one account is linked, this can clash and prevent our System from sending any emails to you.

Good equipment overall but Low hygiene standards
Good equipment overall.. however the hygiene in mens showers is awful. Constant smell of piss and the showers have been out of order ( no notice!). The sauna and steam room were not very relaxing, and the hygiene standards were noticeably poor.

I telephoned today to re-new my annual membership with Better and I was attended to by Aaiasa she slowly help me decide on the best membership for me to upgrade to , and it was the best decision I made this month ; so I could enjoy continue using ALL Better gymnasium's across the UK allowing me great freedom ,choice and flexibility in my exercise regime ; this felt like the exact course of action for me at the moment and with a little extra on top I could enjoy this membership this year. So thank you to Aaiasa for supporting me through this process - Well Done to you and all the staff at membership Better who are working behind the scenes who don't usually acknowledged ! Not the most professionally trained bunch and super annoying when you want to cancel lessons or course, they still want to charge you and have the cheek to ask you for proof of over payment, isn’t that your job “customer service” ?

We’re sorry to hear that your recent experience at our Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre did not meet your expectations, particularly regarding the cancellation process.
Our team always aims to provide a professional and supportive service, and we regret that this wasn’t reflected in your interaction.
We note our cancellation policy in our Terms and Conditions, so our customers are aware of this, and some lessons require a' month in hand' payment upon enrolment.
As a result, when notice is given, this advance payment period means the cancellation will take effect after the additional month has been covered.

I had a dispute at the gym in Swiss…
I had a dispute at the gym in Swiss Cottage leisure centre yesterday, a group of uncivilised people who train in the gym attacked me physically and sexually like threatening me by touching their genitalia one of them is an Indian woman and a black man, the reason was that I had a phone call my voice was a bit loudly they are being rude and aggressive.
The lady approached to stop my cardio machine she also the black man also try to touch me and then started to sexually abuse and threaten me by saying “watch your back”.
Today I came to the gym and I was surprised that they suspended me for six months and the uncivilised people who attacked me still keep coming without being stopped.
I found out that the general manager who called Louise took unfair decision because he was taken aside, and he is racist and have lack of management skills.
This place is deeply awful, from my side I reported all this accident to the police.

very good gym overall, but...
very good gym overall, well equipped, friendly and helpful staff. The only issue: it's unacceptabily dirty. There's centimetres of dirt piled everywhere, on the floor, machines, not to mention the changing rooms. They save money on cleaners. They rely on customers and even PT to clean. Also the ceiling of the pool is falling apart and dripping water. They should make the weekly pool water analysis report public.

Never coming back to swiss cottage
Never coming back to swiss cottage. The setup is incredibly unintuitive, terrible signage, nowhere for parents to watch little kid swim lessons, and the staff was the absolute worst. Unfriendly and unhelpful.
Only saving grace was the swim lesson itself seemed to be pretty good

Thanks so much for positive response. Logistics are all sorted now (we've settled for reusable / washable overshoes). Child loves lessons and teacher, and swimming is becoming a highlight of our week.
