Black Country Metal Works Opiniões

Beautiful tree purchased from this company. Great value for money too.
So happy with my purchase

Extremely disappointing – what has happened to this place?
We hadn’t been to Black Country Metal Works since 2020 and, remembering how good it used to be, we were genuinely looking forward to returning. We drove for over an hour specifically to visit and buy some of the fantastic artisan metalwork items they used to sell.
Sadly, what a disappointment.
The shop that used to be packed with fantastic, unusual and genuinely interesting artisan pieces has effectively disappeared. In its place is a large café/restaurant and a gift shop selling the sort of generic, mass-produced gifts you would expect to find in a large garden centre.
There are still a few ironwork items around, and the sculptures themselves are very good, but the place has lost what made it special. It used to have character and felt like somewhere you could spend time browsing and finding something completely different. Now it feels much more like a commercial tourist attraction.
The restaurant experience was particularly frustrating.
We ordered two coffees and a cake and waited. And waited. After 30 minutes we still hadn't received anything. There appeared to be very little urgency from the staff, and nobody seemed particularly interested in explaining what was happening.
By this point we had to leave, so we went to ask for a refund. This was when things became even more ridiculous – our order hadn't even been started.
How can two coffees and a cake take 30 minutes without even being prepared?
What really annoyed me was the attitude and complete lack of organisation from the staff. There seemed to be no communication whatsoever, and the whole restaurant operation appeared chaotic. Nobody seemed to know what was happening, and there was certainly no sense that anyone was taking responsibility for the problem.
We were promised a refund, but at the time of writing I am still waiting for it.
The whole place gave the impression of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. It's incredibly frustrating when you've driven over an hour to visit somewhere, spent your time and money getting there, and then receive such poor service.
The £5 entrance fee isn't really the issue – the sculptures are worth seeing. The issue is that the Black Country Metal Works we remembered seems to have disappeared.
What was once a fantastic and distinctive venue showcasing artisan work now feels like a commercial tourist park selling generic gifts, with an expensive café attached.
It's genuinely sad because this place had something special. We were expecting to come away with some unique metalwork and have a pleasant visit. Instead, we left extremely disappointed, frustrated and feeling that our time had been completely wasted.
The changes to the site are disappointing enough, but the restaurant service and chaotic staff were the final straw. We certainly won't be making the long journey back.

Holly from sales was really helpful & nothing was too much trouble. I am picking it up & I am going to spend a few hours there. It sounds a nice place to visit. It's apparently easy to put together so I will find a family member to do it. Thank you Holly..

I have bought a couple if items from Black Country Metal Works, and although I have not yet used them properly they seem pretty good in quality.

I was also impressed at the speed of the delivery and the over all cost was not expensive. Its also nice to know you are supporting a family run British business. I will certainly buy from them again I'm sure.

The post box is beautiful, extremely well made and looks amazing. I expected it to arrive in a couple of weeks, but it was delivered the next day. Thank u so much,

I received my horse shoe on time and beautifully packaged. The lovely shoe is a gift for my parents to put above the front door of their new home. It came carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and tissue paper inside the box.
I would totally recommend buying from this company…. You will not be disappointed!!

Purchased a pack of two metal obelisks. The quality was excellent and very reasonably priced. Would buy from this seller again. Rhiannon, Etsy Customer Service Manager was brilliant and ensured a speedy delivery and items were very well packaged. 100% recommend this small business.

I was looking for a replacement brass knocker for a Victorian front door . After reading very good reviews I rang and spoke to Holly Copeland who was very helpful and put my order in! So nice to actually speak to a person as I’m elderly and finding it hard having to order so many things on line . Hopefully I will be equally pleased when it is delivered next week . Also great to hear about the traditional company .

Recently bought a hand blown glass Poppy bird feeder via Etsy for a gift.
It is absolutely beautiful, very well made and such a quick turnaround.
It was easy to order and communication is great!
Thank you so much!

Beautiful well made individual robins made out of cutlery. Amazing quality, I bought one and loved it so much bought myself one. Super quick delivery arrived day after I ordered it. Would highly recommend

Bought a gorgeous Mary Poppins hanging basket holder. It’s so beautiful and such craftsmanship. Rhiannon was very helpful too. A very special gift for a very special person. Thank you so much 😊

I bought two decorative shelf brackets. The brackets arrived quickly, are well made and represent good value.
I will certainly be looking on your website for other purchases. Well done!

What a quality product, so well made, well packaged and sent promptly. Always worried when buying unseen online, often disappointing but this delivery was beyond all expectations, the standard of workmanship was exceptional and the materials all quality. I'll be back.

I have purchased several items. All arrived very quickly and are excellent quality and very reasonably priced. The customer service is superb and I would highly recommend this company.

Very helpful and friendly service, Holly sorted everything we need

Brilliant quality item . Fast delivery. I Received a lovely message thanking me for the feed back 😀

Like an idiot I lost the key to my post box that I bought a little while ago.
I spoke to Holly at customer services, she was very well informed and took me through my options. I have a new lock coming which is more economical than having to try and get a new key cut.

Excellent service

Many thanks

Roger

I’ve bought a couple of items from this maker on Etsy. I love the fact that it’s a small business in the UK. The quality of the handmade products are excellent. And they are a perfect gift for someone who will appreciate the hard work and thought and effort that has gone into it at such a reasonable price. Communication is great. Postage was very quick and it was very well packaged. In fact, I gifted it in the box that it arrived in and just wrapped it in nice wrapping paper. I’ve bought two items from this company one for my dad and one for my husband and both the presents went down really well. I’d also like to thank Rhiannon at Etsy customer service for such a great job. I can highly recommend this seller for buying really quirky well-made gifts for others or yourself.

Purchased the Tin Man garden ornament for my husband for our 10th (tin) wedding anniversary. Very pleased with the service and quality he loved it

I bought 2 rustic hooks and absolutely love them, I use them for hanging up bags and dog leads in my utility room. They look fab and were such good value. Speedy delivery too, highly recommended!
