Game Changer
The CannyCo collar was a game changer for walking my GSP. While leash walking is still not perfect, the CannyCo allows me to walk her with significantly reduce fear of injury to both of us. My girl was 4 months when she came to live with me, and the previous owners had either used a retractable leash when walking her or had never done any leash training with her, or a combination of both. I suspect it was both. My efforts at training her to walk on a leash worked perfectly as long as we were inside our home or in our back yard. But, once we left those confines and she had a world of distractions, forget about it! Everything she had learned…well…I can’t say she forgot it all, but she could not apply it because she was so distracted!!
She’s 3-1/2 years old now, and I had pretty much given up that we would ever achieve success in leash walking until a few months ago when I enlisted the help of a local dog trainer who recommended the CannyCo. I wrote the name down, but forgot to order it until about a month ago. The first time I tried it with my girl, I knew that we had finally found something that would at least make leash walking doable.
Again, it’s not perfect, but we are making meaningful progress now, for which I am very thankful. I wish I had known about the CannyCo when she first came to live with me. It would have made a HUGE difference!

This invention is a lifesaver!
This invention is a lifesaver! I’m a 70-year-old woman and I have a 75 pound six month old Great Pyrenees puppy. Even with weekly training, walking him was just not enjoyable due to his power and my hand injury. The trainer recommended this Canny collar. Instant relief! It took him a couple of minutes to adjust to it, with liver treats. It worked so well, I bought one for my 25 pound dachshund who can be quite stubborn on walks. I can’t thank you enough for this product!

Great tool for Dogs that pull on the leash
I recently ordered Canny Collars for my dog training business, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase! The ordering process was smooth and efficient, and the collars arrived quickly.

We can finally enjoy our dog walks!
We own a 90 lb lab that we have had for almost 4 years. We hardly ever get to take her on a walk because of how difficult it is. We have tried gentle leader and other things but nothing has ever worked as well as the canny collar!! We're so pleased and that now we can actually enjoy walks with our dog. Thank you canny co!!

Game Changer!
This collar has changed my life! I used to be nervous to walk my 80 lb dog past other dogs since she was such a puller. A few training walks with the Canny Collar and it’s a whole new ball game!!

Wouldn't say my experience was great. I'm used to using a gentle leader, but these instructions were incomplete.

BIG puppy solution
We have an eight month old Sheepdog/Poodle mix who is now 60 pounds and a handful when strange people or dogs are around. Since she is still a puppy (a big puppy) she gets so excited that she pulls everyone around who is holding her leash. We tried everything, short of a shock collar. A friend at the dog park suggested getting a Canny Collar, which I did, and it worked, beyond my expectations actually! It is light weight, easy to put on and works like reins on a horse and doesn't hurt her, but does give me control. I recommend this Collar to every dog parent who struggles with the joy and antics of a young, BIG puppy. Last thing I want to do is break her wonderful Spirit and Joyfulness.

Love the Canny collar! Been using this collar for both my pups for years. Great quality and doesn't damage their teeth or pull on their eyes or any part of their faces. Truly the best and easiest collar for walking my fur babies.

Wanted something better than Halti. Canny ain't it..
We used Halti for a month but our dog has not gotten used to it after daily walks. Fights it every day, but at least he has a hard time removing it himself.
Tried Canny since it doesn't look as "over-engineered," thinking he would prefer the fit (Canny looks more like a face lead and less like a face jail). Measured him twice, double-checked the fit (the instructions are very well done, kudos for that). He gets out of the Canny immediately - swings his head up, then looks down, and it's right off before we can even give it a tug. Had to go back to Halti.
Can't even return the Canny, which is the real 1-star earner - the return policy is so stringent. You won't take it back if it so much as touches a dog's face? That's the only way to test it! AND you charge shipping + restock fee? Terrible policy. Now we're stuck with it. Can't even give it away in good conscience because I know it won't work as advertised. Can't throw it away because I don't like creating trash.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and we are sorry that this was less than satisfactory for both you and your dog. We would like to see if we can rectify the issue and get you enjoying walking your dog the way you would like to.
Firstly, we accept that the wording on our return policy may have led our customers to think that they were unable to return items that had been tried out on their dogs. We have now reworded this to make it clearer and remove this misunderstanding. Please accept our apologies for what was clearly an oversight on our part. Of course you have to try the collar on your dog first, the policy was unclear in that respect.
Secondly, the comments about your dog fighting the Halti would suggest that your dog needs conditioning to wearing a head halter irrespective of the brand used. In which case, you may find this article on our website useful: https://www.cannyco.com/pages/puppy-lead-training-canny-collar. Although the article is aimed at puppy owners, there is a section on conditioning your dog to a head halter. Finally, the Canny Collar is not like other brands which are effectively ‘set and forget’ head halters. The idea of the Canny is to eventually train your dog to walk on a regular collar and leash. As such, it is a training aid rather than a restraint, the idea being that you eventually wean your dog off it rather than have your dog wear it for life (although this is what most owners actually prefer to do, even when their dog is walking well, as they have immediate, close control).
To achieve this, the Canny works on a ‘pressure and release’ system. Your dog feels pressure on his nose when he pulls and it immediately slackens off when he does not. For this to happen, the nose band needs to be completely free moving through the yellow guider (which is not a ’stopper’), otherwise there is no training element and the head halter isn’t actually doing any training.
This means that, initially at least, you do need to keep an eye on your dog, as you would naturally when training, and be active in the training process. If the leash is too long for example, yes the noseband will come off. So keeping the leash short but loose is the key. As dog owners ourselves, we understand the frustrations of a pulling dog and we would love to be able to help you enjoy walking yours the way you would like. So we’re happy to offer phone support and/or video explanations to help with your training.
Of course, if you have decided that the collar is simply not for you and your dog, then we are happy to accept it back as a return and in this case will refund your shipping costs. Or we refund you and you donate it to a local dog shelter. A quick look through our Trustpilot reviews will show that for most dog owners, the Canny Collar does work well and owners are happy. We’d like you to be one of them.

Walks with 2 dogs
Walks with 2 dogs - my 10 year old black lab and 15 week old yellow lab are so much better with Canny Collar. Both are pullers and between them, they have 100lbs. Instead of constantly having to stop when they’re pulling, canny collar just stops them from pulling. I’ve had multiple hip surgeries on a defect on my left hip and my right hip has the same condition but haven’t had surgery for it, canny collar allows me to be able to safely enjoy walks with my girls. I’ve been a huge advocate of Canny Collar since Ginny was a pup, and I’ll continue to be with our Luna. That’s a decade of using canny collar and many more to come. I’m also in Canada and the shipping is incredibly fast from a UK company.

Game changer …
This leash has been a game changer for walks. Having 2 dogs to walk, the pulling was hurting my back. I didn't want to get a choker leash because I didn't want to hurt my dogs. Our Vet suggested the Canny leash and we could not be happier!
