If you are looking to buy or sell a house chances are that you will first look at one of the two major portals. Given the dominance of these portals most estate agents are using them as an additional means of acquiring clients. The data derived from the portals when used to inform clients on progress of sales or purchases is vital to developing mutual trust through informed interpretation of the data and communication to clients. This is something I truly value from Chancellors.

I get a weekly report on all online stats sent to me by email. This if followed up with a phone call from a senior manager with an explanation of the online stats the following day with an email report outlining the key points of the discussion. All client visits result in feedback to me sometimes verbally and a report that I can review anytime in my online account with Chancellors.

Given the current state of the market over the last three months with interest rates still relatively high and the rate of inflation just gone up a percentage point I am satisfied with the number of viewings. In short, I am more than happy with the service I get from Chancellors and recommend them to anyone looking to engage the services of an estate agent.

Chancellors are a communicative company with agents who are very informative of the properties that they are selling. We dealt with Craig and he knew the property very well and was very personable with us which we appreciated massively. Would absolutely recommend!

I’ve recently moved to the area and what I thought would have been a smooth transition ended up being one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had.

Recently, I encountered constant misinformation, a condescending approach, and repeated delays while dealing with an acquiring a rental property with Chancellors in the area.

I was in the process of moving in on the 21st of March when I refused to accept the keys to the flat because of the state it was in, leading to a breach of tenancy, emails went unanswered, information failed to be disclosed at appropriate times and the responsibility was repeatedly shifted, leaving me unsettled and frustrated to this day. They then decided they will ‘sort’ out everything and move my start date to the 29th which was already a huge inconvenience and no compensation gained!

Equally, they only officially told me I could withdraw from the process a day before I was to collect the keys (on the 29th). Despite first asking for compensation and soon after requesting my money back when I first refused the keys, so I could source a new property. Unfortunately, because time pressures with starting a new job, they left me vulnerable and so had no opportunity to quickly source another property.

I should also add the process in collecting the keys the second time was obscure in terms of having to get the keys first from their office before seeing the property in person with ‘promised’ work they said occurred the day before (Friday 28th). And they provided no confirmation when / how / who to collect the keys from on the Friday when they were calling me to sign the new agreement by a specific time (which felt pressured). I then had to called multiple times on the Saturday (29th) and eventually got in touch with their head office in order to get in touch with them on how to collect the keys (baring in mind this was very different from the first time).

Now I have to live in a flat when not all of the promised work was done and further issues occurring within a week of moving in because I ‘collected’ the keys.🙄

I should acknowledge that the landlord they are representing has also been useless as the agency could barely get in touch with him.

Perhaps instead of Chancellors focusing on securing multiple properties, they should focus on quality rather quantity.

PS I’m one to name and shame but no one should go through anything like this, considering moving is already one of the most stressful things in life and they had no compassion.

We have been very impressed with Chancellors in Banbury. The whole team has been very attentive and efficient. I have particularly liked their weekly review call supported by stats. They have offered advice and we have felt able to discuss a strategy which best suits us. At the point of writing this review, we have been successful in receiving an offer which meets our expectations.

Charlotte was at the property early and gave us a really good tour and explanation of the property. Really nice and friendly lady. The bungalow was lovely. Thank you

Not great service when I used them. I have since spent the last 3 years asking them to remove my details from their system, which they have failed to do and continue to contact me.
I advise avoiding them at all costs
