I’m meant to be flying home next…

I’m meant to be flying home next Wednesday to Ireland, and under these extreme circumstances I need to change my flight ASAP!!! But just voice mail on the phone, summited the forms and emailed the company and still no response!!!

We understand your frustration, there are thousands of people who have been displaced by this terrible global crisis and we are doing our best to get everyone where they need to be, as quickly as possible.
The phone lines were being inundated, creating unacceptable wait times for customers and all change/cancellation requests need to be sent in writing before they can be actioned.

Switching to email and online responses only means the team can get through 2-3 times as many cases each day. This in turn means we can help a greater number of customers more quickly (including getting to your request sooner), which is our priority right now.

Zero grade booking centre no option to postpone flight

Hi,
I booked my ticket to Hyderabad from
Sydney ticket confirmation number:MSNPQA.traveling on 18-03-2020 1:10 pm Sydney time. I have been calling from yesterday regarding postponement of my ticket but no response from anyone and one hour back I have seen news saying that In Kuala Lumpur due to Coronavirus, city has. been locked down and flights which are been flying to India has been canceled. So if I travel from Sydney will I able to transit to India or please help me to postpone my ticket kindly give reply. Don’t throw me from flight last minute kindly call me or reply me. Bad experience with ur service.

Absolutely disgusting and shameful. They tried to get me to re-book without telling me my flights were already cancelled.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. They are dishonest, and they do not provide you with accurate information.

Firstly, I began with an inquiry with my options for refund or re-booking due to the current global pandemic situation. They told me that I was not eligible for a refund and that I would have to pay $300 for airline re-booking fees + additional admin fees. However they did not tell me that, as per the airline travel advisory page, that I was actually eligible to have the re-booking fees waived. Luckily I did my research first, or I would have unknowingly paid this fee when I shouldn't have needed to.

Also, when booking my flights initially, I was not given specific fare details about the tickets I was purchasing i.e. non-refundable, flexi, premium etc. These details were also not stated on the itinerary they provided. When I asked multiple times "why" this information was not given to me nor stated on my tickets, they replied with " we follow the cancellation procedures of the airlines". They blatantly avoided answering the question. This is a major failure of service on their half, as customers should know the details about the products they are buying.

Lastly, when I was trying to get information about my options for re-booking, they not only failed to tell me (yet again, as per the airlines travel advisory page) that I was now eligible for a refund due to quarantine restrictions, regardless of the type of fare I had; but they also failed to inform me that some of my flights were ALREADY cancelled! And they were cancelled almost a week ago!!!

It is very sly, and underhanded to try and get a customer to change their flight dates, and not tell them that their original flights have been cancelled and that they are eligible for a refund.

Due to coronavirus (COVID-19) causing cancellations and travel disruptions worldwide, we are experiencing an overload of requests for urgent changes/cancellations, as hundreds of flights are being canceled by airlines and travel authorities around the world.

In this uncertain time, airlines and government departments are updating their policies frequently to address the constant changes and new information that is becoming available daily.

I can assure you that if the airline has made your fare eligible for a refund, we will be processing the request for you and returning the funds as soon as they are released from the airline.

While we are doing our very best to ensure that we have the most up-to-date information and can pass that onto our customers, we apologise for not giving you the best possible service, in this instance. We are certainly not trying to withhold anything from our customers.

These are difficult and unprecedented times and we are doing our very best to address all inquiries as quickly as possible, so our customers have all the support they need.

Loose my luggage

Loose my luggage, no even an apologise, no compensation, no re booked ticket without fee in case of cancellation.

No support at all

No support at all, Don't buy anythings with this company.They don t have any insurances and just dont care about their customers. Ive been stuck 6 days at the airport. They not able to take any decision

Cannot get through to support

My circumstances have changed and need to change or cancel my flights. I've been on the phone trying to get through to someone over the past few days without luck.
I've logged a request via customer service without response.
It appears that no one manages the phones during business hours.

Also, the website provides little to no options to manage your flight.

Good customer support when available

Customer support line was a long wait. But other than that the team tried their best to help me out with the booking.

Really appreciate they calling and explain my understanding, and helped me resolving my issue

Update on my previous review

Update on my previous review. I had contacted them with the receipt of the penalty I paid for excess luggage. The money has been refunded back by the checkmyfares.com. However, no compensation for the trouble that we been through. That’s okay though. I got my money back without trouble. I do recommend checking your booking with the airline before flying if you booked online. It was such a big hassle.

Hard Nosed Policy over Safety & Compassion

I booked our tickets very early. Unfortunately the novel Coronavirus post a great risk in a lot of Asian countries. We don’t want to risk our lives. Then we canceled the trip to get credit travel for next time. The policy governing the credit is to fly exactly the same sectors within a year, from the date of booking. These are places we scared to go now and we don’t know when it is safe to visit. We want to fly to Europe instead of Asia! They said that is their policy. In the current environment, can’t this policy be waived in the name of safety and compassion?

My flight was cancelled and they didn’t call or email me.

What if I was at Airport for checkin and they send me back home!!( there is no flight)

I had to call the airlines team and again I had to call this checkmyfares.

I have investigated your booking and can see that there was a Schedule Change issued by the airline for your flight. Unfortunately, this is outside of our control, as airlines need to make changes to flight schedules from time-to-time due to a range of reasons.

Our records indicate that you were notified that there was a Schedule change on the booking and you were given an alternative flight option, which you advised was not suitable to you.

We then offered you a full refund, which you accepted and as a courtesy, we did not pass on the $40 refund fee we were charged to process your refund.

I hope this has clarified any misunderstandings that you have about this booking. If you have any other questions or you need any further information, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Advertised fares and service not the reality !

I found checkmyfares as advertising cheap fares, but as I went through the process it became apparent that unless I paid the additional “customer service fee” I could not book the advertised price.
Unfortunately for various reasons I had to change my flight on my return back to Australia, but to do so and as advertised I was to make contact with the customer service team. However, despite advertising the company has offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth , London and Los Angeles, that is not the truth. In fact the only office they have is on The Gold Coast in Australia and when you phone any number it gets redirected there. In addition to which the office is only open 9am until 9pm, Queensland Time. They do not advertise that fact and there is no message service or call waiting system, so best of luck if you ever need to contact this company by phone or you are in a different part of the world !
So if like me you are overseas and expect to be able to contact someone , do not build up your hopes.

I am now awaiting their advice on this matter, two weeks later .

I just wanted to clarify a few facts here. Firstly our Premium Service package does not impact the flights that you can book. In fact it is offered to customers after they have already selected their flights and entered the passenger's details. This optional service is offered to help save customers on fees, should they need to make changes or cancel the booking.

We do offer local numbers in a range of locations, again to reduce costs for our customers, should they need to reach us. I can assure you these calls are not being directed to the Gold Coast Office and there is an after-hours message as well as an on-hold service attached to our Customer Care Centre.

The times are clearly advertised on our website as "AEST" (Australian Eastern Standard Time) which is Queensland Time, so not sure where the confusion is there?
