Engraving so small it’s illegible
I purchased the paw print key ring as a memory gift for my mum. The item arrived 2 weeks later and the name engraved on it is so small it’s illegible! It only consists of 6 letters, but it is half the size of the ‘Clogau’ wording printed on the other side and barely takes up half the surface width- so it isn’t like there wasn’t enough space to print a legible name. I’m so disappointed as none of the engravings in their online pictures or in store were this small, otherwise I NEVER would have purchased it or opted to have it printed.

In celebration of my children
To celebrate my children, I bought myself a gold tree of life ring in 2000. Two and a half months before my daughter's 4th birthday and 3 months before my son was born. I bought it at Powell's Jewellers in my home town of Prestatyn and have worn it ever since. Sadly, whilst on holiday in Greece last year, it got damaged. I sent it back to Clogau and they mended it beautifully, polished it so that it looks brand new and sent it back to me, all in the space of a couple of weeks. I love Clogau jewellery, always have. Both my children wear their rings and I have beautiful earrings and rings from them. The service is second to none and I am delighted to be able to recommend them to anyone. I am proud to be Welsh and proud to be able to wear Welsh gold.

gold honeycomb ring poor value for money
Ordered the gold honeycomb ring. When it came it was very thing and had little substance. I was sure it could get caught and broken, so I returned it and was refunded. In this respect, the service was good.

Heartfelt wonderful company
I reached out to the wonderful people at Clogau when a special bracelet I bought my daughter got damaged in very unfortunate circumstances. From the moment I contacted them, the kindness and care they showed touched my heart. Don't buy keyring as not covered under warranty!!
Bought my friend the pawprint keyring to complete her collection and paid £15 extra to have it engraved for her birthday in May this year. It was beautiful, just like the rest of the pawprint collection which between myself and my friend had purchased previously. However, the link attaching the pawprint charm to the ring was faulty and came apart without her realising and the charm was lost. My friend was devasted, but I assured her that being such a reputable company they would be able to help. I was wrong!! They sound very sympathetic and compassionate and say how they understand but under no circumstances do they cover keyring under their warranty. The link has opened and shouldn't of. If they don't cover loss from poor workmanship under their warranty then they should make sure the link was soldered so it would never come apart in the first place!! I am angry at the thought of spending over £500 on a complete range to be told, that there is nothing they can do!! I will never buy from clogau again and will never recommend their company anymore either.. £44 to them in the grand scheme of things is nothing compared to people like myself. I am hurt and angry plus my friend feels the same as well as upset as this was a gift to her.

Purchased a bracelet on line from the outlet store. Received within 2 days but didn’t come with the pouch pull string bag. When I contacted them, apologised & was despatched next day free of charge

Clogau should make it clear where a lot of their jewellery is made if not Wales
Over the years I've bought a number of pieces of jewellery from Clogau. Thinking that I was supporting Welsh Crafts Folk at the same time. The latest advert for them (voiced by actor Luke Evans I think) emphasises sustainability with a scenic backdrop of the green hills. Nothing wrong with this. But then Google tells me that a lot of their jewellery is made abroad. So it seems that 'sustainability' doesn't seem to include sustaining more jobs for the locals.
Very disappointing and I've asked them where abroad as this isn't in their information.

Originally, all Clogau jewellery was manufactured in North Wales, but in 2005 the decision was made to move production overseas in an attempt to fulfil customer demands for shorter manufacturing and delivery times, and to sustain the growth of the brand.
The change has meant that the costs to both customer and company have been reduced, and customers now receive their jewellery with 2-3 working days, instead of several weeks. It has also meant that we can keep up with the demand for Clogau jewellery on the high street and, increasingly, internationally.
The majority of Clogau jewellery is made up of multiple components due to the addition of Welsh gold (usually in the rose gold detailing), thus complicating the manufacturing process. A team of dedicated employees are responsible for creating jewellery of the utmost beauty and quality.

Fabulous customer service
My partner bought me a Clogau bracelet a few years ago which unfortunately broke recently. I contacted customer services and they asked me to send it to them for repair. The bracelet was quickly repaired and sent back to me via special delivery. I was really impressed by the service received and would definitely buy from Clogau again.

My precious gift of a bracelet was unfortunately broken after just a few months. After just one email, no arguments and within a couple of days this was replaced by Clogau, their customer service is indeed second to none .

I recently emailed Clogau to see if they could do anything with a ring I purchased in 2016 . It was purchased in memory of my beautiful sister so was more than just jewelry .
Lucas who took my email very promptly emailed me back and with no hesitation said to send it to them to see what could be done .
On Saturday I received it back and was so overwhelmed with the result . My beautiful keepsake was back to when I first purchased it .
I’d like to thank Lucas and all that were involved . It means the absolute world to me and I know that my sister will be smiling too . That’s the reason I only buy Clogau because the after care is outstanding . Thank you again Jenny x

Worst customer service ever.
I Bought a 18ct gold ring and took the option to have it engraved. When I received the ring it was missing the engraving. Contacted customer service who apologised and told me I had to send it back at my expense and they would have to charge me £15 as they claimed the checkout system did not charge me even though it was clearly on my invoice with the ring + engraving printed on the invoice . I sent my invoice to Christian in customer service to prove this who was absolutely useless giving me the same generic replies. I gave up in the end. If you have any problems with your Clogau order forget any kind of customer service its absolutely terrible. Will never buy from this company again.

We fully acknowledge there was an issue during checkout that affected the engraving charge, and while this was unintentional, we completely understand how frustrating it must have been to receive your ring without the engraving you requested.

We can of course, correct the engraving for you, unfortunately we do not offer a pre-paid postal return service, however we can reimburse you for the return postage costs as it’s very important to us to make things right.

Nice but pricey
I purchased a sterling silver and rose gold signet ring from a Clogau store I am very happy with my purchase and like the bimetallic combination and nicely designed dragon. One criticism I have is the overall price of the item relative to its precious metal content. I did however really like the design of the ring so decided I would get it anyway. The store experience is very good and there was plenty of different sizes in stock to try on.

Poor customer service and quality products
My husband ordered two items from this company for me as a surprise. The bracelet arrived and it is very cheap looking and not worth the money. The second item was a personalised keyring. The item arrived and the name was wrong on the keyring. He contacted customer service to be told, even though it’s their error, they could not send a replacement until the original one was returned. He sent a photo and asked for the replacement with the correct name to be sent out and they refused until the wrong was returned. Terrible customer service. Avoid this company as the jewellery does not look like the images and the quality is not what it should be.

Absolutely useless company with poor…
Absolutely useless company with poor quality jewellery. I have owned numerous bracelets, necklaces and rings from them but I have had 3 rings break despite minimal use. They never offer a refund and as they are out of warranty I have to fix at my own cost despite the obvious design flaws. Interestingly I seem to not be the only one having these issues. Avoid at all costs and spend your money elsewhere!
Edit. They seem to send these replies about how sorry they are yet don’t seem to do anything about it.
