My elderly father purchased 2026 Tudor Beasts “Queen’s Lion” 1oz gold coin after speaking with a very pushy sales representative, and the entire experience has caused him significant distress at an already vulnerable time.

My mother passed away recently, and since then he has been emotionally vulnerable and looking for ways to protect his savings. During the sales process, he was encouraged to purchase modern graded “collectible” gold coins at extremely high premiums above the underlying gold value.

The coins themselves are genuine Royal Mint gold coins, so this is not an authenticity issue. The concern is the pricing and the sales approach used. He paid approximately £5,490.00 f2026 Tudor Beasts “Queen’s Lion” , which we later discovered was around 48% above the intrinsic gold value at the time.

He was left with the impression these were particularly strong investment products because they were PCGS graded and described as collectible, but only afterwards did we understand how difficult it may be to recover such a large premium on resale. Realising this has left him deeply upset.

I believe elderly and recently bereaved customers should be treated with far greater care and sensitivity, especially when selling high-premium investment-style products.

I would strongly encourage anyone considering these coins to: compare prices carefully with standard, independently check live gold values, and ask for realistic buyback prices before purchasing.

A few problems with delivery- home address used instead of delivery address, so wasted a day. Was surprised for such a high value order Royal Mail was still used with a 5hour delivery window and not a courier.

A big shout out to John Donovan who helped me with my investment at Direct Bullion . I was rather jittery entering into this type of world of investment but John allayed any fears that l had . He answered question after question to the extent l was happy to proceed . So much so l have recommended the company to colleagues & friends. Service was second to none.

Having placed an order in November for quite a lge amount, for me at least, I finally received my coins last weekend. I had become quite sceptical due to the length of time but James Byrne kept me updated with the process. There were times when I was quite concerned but James appreciated that and even coped with me when I asked if it was a scam etc etc. Patience has paid off and I would use this company again.

It's been a fantastic experience dealing with Direct Bullion, and Aston in particular has been outstanding. My 4star rating was knowing that Harry, the Senior Account Manager who dealt with my transfer of Gold Queens Beast Coins was available as soon as I telephoned or emailed with a question regarding my purchase. He was Informative, friendly, gave good advice and very knowledgeable. Payment along with all the paperwork was straight forward and easy. A minor critisism would be the length of time the deal was completed in, but I now have some lovely Gold Coins which I am very pleased with.
