I'm writing this review as the son of Dove's client and after nearly 7 weeks of my mum having received truly excellent care through one of Dove's carers who has now left for a break. That carer took time to understand my mum's needs and set up routines, offered advice to us, the family, took advice and feedback from the family and we all had an altogether positive experience. We came to the time when mum's long term carer's break was approaching and her interim replacement employed by Dove was sourced, the family was happy with the selection and I made arrangements so that my mum could be supported directly by family, in the short term, through the carer change processes.
At the last minute on the morning of the carer switch, Dove notified me that the proposed interim carer had a family emergency and would not be available for one week. These things happen and the family, including my mum, were pleased that Dove found another of their care staff almost immediately and arranged for her to travel to my mum's house to take over. Obviously this process meant that timings went astray with the replacement interim carer having to travel at the same moment's notice from Dove as was given to us, the family, and delaying the handover to the new carer, this being so very important to minimise the effects of the change on my mum. To minimise delay I jumped into the car, fetched the new carer from the railway station and we arrived at my mum's home shortly before 3pm, some 4 hours after the time that I understand Dove expects the changeover process to start. With this delay in mind I want to thank Dove for their continued support of my mum, for their actions in finding the replacement (at a moment's notice), and congratulate Dove for having such excellent carers, both of whom have performed over and above reasonable expectations, and will have incurred costs (for travel at least) over and above those which a reasonable employer or a carer would have anticipated.
In conclusion to date we have found Dove's carers to be truly Caring (capital C) and congratulate Dove on their staff who are a credit to Dove. At the time of writing this review, the family is expecting a notification imminently from Dove regarding the arrival,or otherwise, of the original replacement carer, who we were advised would attend a week late, and who we will welcome as part of our family, all taking responsible care of mum. Once notification is received I need to make arrangements for support of my mum again through the carer change, and I need notice to action those.

Our mother received a wide range of care from Dove Home Care during the last year of her life. Initially, this involved assistance with showering and dressing, but as her needs changed it progressed to support with meal preparation, getting ready for bed, overnight sleepover care, and eventually round-the-clock live-in care.

From the outset, Dove Home Care were highly responsive whenever we asked to meet to discuss our mother's changing care needs, both with her and with us. As her circumstances evolved, we always felt that they listened carefully and adapted her care accordingly.

Almost without exception, the carers who looked after Mum were kind, considerate and patient. She always felt safe in their hands and loved to engage them in conversation. Over the months she built genuine relationships with several of them, and it was clear that they came to know her well as an individual.

The management behind the day-to-day care was excellent. We would particularly like to thank Sam Mander and her team, who handled our out-of-hours calls promptly, calmly and thoughtfully whenever urgent situations arose. They also recognised which carers Mum especially enjoyed spending time with and, wherever possible, arranged for them to visit regularly, providing a welcome sense of continuity and familiarity.

During the final months of Mum's life, as her care needs changed more rapidly, we were reassured that carers were kept fully informed about changes to her medication and daily routines through Dove Home Care's care management system. This ensured that everyone involved in her care was working from the same up-to-date information, giving us confidence that she was receiving consistent, well-coordinated support.

Overall, our experience with Dove Home Care was excellent. Their professionalism, responsiveness and genuine kindness gave us complete confidence that Mum was receiving the best possible care. Thanks to the support they provided, she was able to remain in the comfort and familiarity of her own home until the end of her life, surrounded by a team who cared for her with dignity, compassion and respect. For that, we will always be grateful to everyone at Dove Home Care.

My dad recently received care for about 4 weeks at home from Dove domiciliary care.

All carers that visited dad were nice , they were friendly and cared for dad well.

With dignity and kindness , we would definitely recommend Dove care on the level of care dad received.

We had some peace of mind knowing the carers called in 3 times per day, and the all night shifts were excellent too.

We have used Dove to prepare & cook mom’s lunch 4 days a week for over a year. Staff are reliable, on time, courteous & friendly. They make mom a cup of tea while they prepare lunch & wash up afterwards. They were also great with my mother in law.

I used Dove Home Care for my mum for 2 weeks. We had a few hiccups with the first carer, however they managed to find a replacement carer quickly. The phone lines are well managed and they respond to concerns quickly, and their prices are reasonable compared to some other live-in care companies. So overall I think Dove are a good care company.

Dove cared for my father until his death in 2019 and then for my mother from 2022 until May this year. They have been kind, compassionate and always ready to help. Any problems have been swiftly dealt with and they were invaluable when emergencies happened. Our live in carer Alexia was wonderful and to know she came with the backing of the full Dove team was extremely reassuring, I would heartily reccomend them.

Dove have been excellent at providing live in care for my mother. They are always at the end of the phone anytime for support when needed. Several visits were made to my mother’s home to see how things were going with the carer . Holiday cover was sorted and when things weren’t working with one of the relief carers Dove found a replacement carer within a few hours.
Mum’s carer Simi was excellent, very knowledgeable, experienced and professional. She soon got mum into a routine , sleeping through the night and eating much better resulting in her gaining much needed weight .It meant so much to our family that mum could stay at home and we felt 100% comfortable leaving mum in Simi’s care , whilst having support from Dove when needed.

Dove were easy to deal with and the carer was very professional, friendly and looked after my elderly parents very well. He was also an excellent cook.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the excellent care and support provided by this company. My father sadly passed , but in his time with Dove Care, they couldn't have done anything more for him! Our carers were so kind,patient and thoughtful. They took innovative to engage with dad and encourage activities. Cooked fresh meals, house was always well kept and respected, and had really great communication with us. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

From the very beginning, the team have been professional, kind, and incredibly supportive. Dove Home Care is a great company to work for. They have a friendly and helpful team at hand to support. They offer a great service and years of experience.

We are particularly appreciative of the high standard of care provided by three main carers over the past year. The gentleman being cared for has been living with increasingly severe dementia.
