Takes up to a month to receive games. Never complained, snail mail, whatever. Used their fast return option one time to get a game locked title. Less than a week later, they charged me for the game I returned. Like I control the mail. I never said anything when I waited a month to receive a game from them, yet they charge me $70 for an old game because it didn't arrive back to them in a week. Whatever, keep your money. I cancelled, won't be back.

This is regarding gamefly promos. If you use the free trial upgrade to the next tier, you will lose certain benefits. I have the two game a month plan and was offered a free trial for the three game a month plan for one month. I took the trial and before my next renewal date I canceled. Because of this, I lost my self return benefits. I had earned these benefits by being a paid customer for a certain amount of time and responsibly using the self return. I just want people to know you will lose the benefits you earned by using their free promos. So it might not be worth it for most people. The self return helps get my next game quicker instead of waiting.

Gamefly was a great company at one time. But, now not so much. The customer service representative are kind of rude. I had to cancel my membership because my wife can't work right now. I thought they may try to work with me to keep me as a customer. I am not asking for a handout. But, we all have had hard times. Plus, them sending anything in the mail is slow as hell. I know that it is not there fault how the mail is. But, you would think they would fix that problem. Maybe, they could send stuff express mail, FedEx, DHL or something better.

Wow, I wish I would’ve seen these reviews beforehand! Great concept, poor execution.. I signed up, they said my game shipped on the 5th, they say it could take up to 10 days to arrive. By the 20th I’m over it because I feel like it’s just never going to come, I email them about it and they literally just cancel my account? It says it was reported lost but I also have no active account? This business is cooked guys don’t even bother. I went from game pass to this, I’m DEFINITELY going back to game pass

Great concept, poor execution
Customer service is quite rude, so let’s start there. Unfortunately they offer a “fast return” service which is not a reliable service for them. This clearly causes them a lot of headaches and problems. Seems like a convenient way as well, to the customer, to extract more money from our memberships as you spend up to 2 weeks waiting for new games while swapping them out.

It’s slower every month I really don’t understand. I’m averaging about 6/7 days to receive and over a week to return. Not to mention they aren’t producing as many games. Maybe you should offer a not crappy shipping option!
Stole my money
I signed up for going for a free trial. Got all the way to the part where I add my card. I had in my car and proceeded. They took two payments of $9.95. But I told me that it didn’t go through and my account set up was not finished. Customer service said there is no account with my email. That they took $20 for a free trial. Will not give them another chance.

Truly a horrible company
Truly a horrible company. You pay for a subscription and then they don’t send you any games. Had to request a refund twice from them. Literally the only company I’ve ever seen that doesn’t have tracking for their deliveries. If you’re lucky enough to actually get sent a game it takes a week to arrive and a week to return. If you get a month subscription you are lucky to even get 2 games out of it. Customer service is a hit or miss but the bad agents are very rude and disrespectful. Couple professional ones though. In theory GameFly is a great theory but is poorly run and is borderline a scam
Charging me $60 for a game they lost
Charging me $60 for a game they lost. Slow shipping that barely allows you to rent 3 games a month. I was a loyal customer for over 15 years. Never canceled and always paid my bill every month. Gamefly would make a shipping error a few times a year and I never complained except sending them an error report. They would also send me the wrong game inside of a sleeve. This would happen about once a year and I never made a fuss. Just sent them back the wrong game they sent me and that was the end of it. Well they did it again, should have been no problem for me to send them back the wrong game they gave me because they do this all the time. Only this time they blame me and insist I must be the one responsible. They "check their records" and claim I am the only one who could be responsible. What about their employees making a mistake, which they do all the time? They demand I pay for the full price of the replacement of the game or send them the game which I never received. I would essentially be paying them $60 for a game I don't have and receive nothing in return. They make this exact mistake multiple times with shipping errors, damaged titles etc. but now they are refusing to accept responsibility. The cost of their lost game is $60, but a GameFly membership is $20 a month. If they had simply accepted responsibility and taken back the wrong game they shipped me I would have continued being a customer and they would have all their money back in 3 months of me being customer like I have been for 15 years. But instead they decided to be childish and now they've lost a loyal 15 year customer.

Super Frustrating and Inconvenient
Super frustrating and inconvenient. How does a company like Gamefly regress so much? I found KCD2 for cheaper here than anywhere, guess you get what you pay for because the game didn't work. They can't/won't send a 1:1 replacement and I have to wait up to 30 days for a refund!? It's not the 2000s anymore, get better. I'd rather have spent the extra $5-$10 to get a game that actually works. Thanks for getting my hopes up and smashing them.

This company is terrible
This company is terrible. They took my money and I waited. I've not received anything and their customer service is rude and unhelpful. It's such a shame because how could a business model as simple as Netflix for video games be mired by such incompetence. DO NOT give them your money.

Slow shipping times. I reported a disc that wouldn't play and they threatened to charge me for it because they didn't receive it back within 7 days.
Gamefly used to be good now they are below average
Gamefly cheats customers who rent more than 1 game at a time by giving you older games on your que and making you wait longer for your second game. They lie about when they ship titles. They shipped a game on 7/1/25 actually received it in 7/18.Still waiting for my second game for 2 months. Extremely long shipping times. They don't buy enough games to meet customers demand for hot new titles.Even sending a game back takes weeks. So they are terrible about updating the website customers status on wichbgame they received or have shipped because they want to steal your money paying for more titles but shipping an older title instead. Used to be good now a rip off trust me . Been a long time members for years.Just canceled until they get their act together.

Very rude service they cancel my membership on a free trial then told me to pay for my membership when they have my card. And most of the games that are new or old that u want to rent they don't have it. Not worth it save your money. Customer service is very rude along with u. U talking about march when where in july. Unbeliveable I will block all gamefly email and phone From now on. Still share my experince. On all media platforms your rateing is 1 on here u need check yourself. Which is lie I cancled in march 2025. Did not have a free trial in march like u state. I have the emails to prove that.

Avoid, avoid, avoid!
Literally, have to wait 5-7 days to get a game then another 5-7 days to send back and they never have any games available* idk....make this make sense* edit fixed

Terrible support and shoddy service
Terrible support and shoddy service. Took them over 3 weeks to get me my FIRST rental that got lost in the mail, and then as soon as they sent the replacement they started threatening me with their loss prevention emails, insinuating I stole their game.
I tried to address this with their support agent named Gio, but he completely ignored all of my concerns, gave me a little coupon so I can subscribe for more (Like… Are you kidding?) and absolutely no comment on their delays or piss poor behavior.
No way in hell I’m giving these guys more money, I’d rather just buy full priced games from companies that give a damn about their customers.
Outdated, horrible experience
This company has such an outdated, broken system. Even when you rented games from redbox you didn't have to wait a week for shipping and be forced to be able to rent only 2 games a month for 25 bucks. The worst part os when you return a game to the post office, then you have to wait a week for the game to make it back to Gamefly. This company is basically the reason why game rentals no longer exist and Redbox is gone. I sure miss ol' Redbox right now 😭
Bad service
Used the trial, returned games as soon as I was done. Canceled subscription. Went backwards few months later to resubscribe and found my account was canceled. They've refused to tell me why but say at first it was due to suspicious activity on a previous around. When I pointed out I didn't have a previous account they said I had swapped label on game cartridges. Seems odd they wouldn't have to tried at any point to collect from me if that had actually happened. It's probably just a small glitch or an honest mistake on their part but they refuse to admit it or correct it.
Edit- Now they suspended my access to support because I keep asking them to correct the above.
