snail slow shipping

gamefly has an okay selection at the times things are released however the shipping is absolutely horrendous it says free shipping which is obviously great only you get your game or your movie in like 12 to 14 days it's extremely frustrating and annoying I've received titles before that I freaking forgot about that's how long they take even though it'll say shipped out it's like more like 12 days from the date it shipped out and they always blame the post office it's not the post office

Never attempting to use Gamefly again

Preordered a game and they canceled it for no reason and then the price went up. I asked them about it and they told me they sold out but could adjust any purchases for future items. I said how and then they said never mind we can't which was pretty wild. You can still literally preorder the game but for the price increased value

The worst customer service experience

Was told my purchase was under review but they did not specify which purchase. Asked questions that weren't answered, like which order was an issue, and was not offered any help. Only received copy and paste answers. When I had a chance to call in to verify this order, I was placed on hold and then hung up on almost 10 minutes later. Worst customer service experience. Why do I have to jump through hoops to give a company my money.. Will not be dealing with GameFly ever again.

Gamefly Offers a Horrible Service

Well, there's not much to mention except for them never sending the next game on the list. At times, they may even send a game that is 10 items down on the list. To make this even worse, I obviously want the game that is next on the list, and it often lists the games as high in quantity. What's the problem then? If this is the case, then why am I struggling to get the product that I want? Other than that, they're decent enough, but shipping times have only gotten considerably worse and were always bad to begin with (two weeks). They continue to blame the post office, but this should never be the case. Even then, they have been adding additional features, i.e., fast return delivery services, to those of us who actually treat them and their games well. However, this does little to make a difference, as it only makes games show up when they were supposed to to begin with. This is unacceptable, and this is why I am probably going to end my subscription. Although, they're the only "real" ones around who offer this rental service, so it's going to be a tough decision to make, ultimately. Well, it's their choice as well, but screw them. If they cannot do this job right, then I have to let them go. Tough luck? Yeah, well, it's too damn bad for them in the end. I cannot accept a legitimate service that barely works with little help from their customer service. It's a shame, because I was actually wanting to like them at times. Unfortunately, I have tolerated this crap too much, and the employees barely do much to help. Thanks, but no thanks, Gamefly. You will need to do a hell of a lot better than this garbage.

If I could give less than one star I…

If I could give less than one star I would. I tried to reactivate my account but when I entered my card info it said my card was declined cause the address was wrong. I contacted my bank and they confirmed my address and told me they are not declining the transaction. They agreed with me that the issue is with Gamefly. When I told Gamefly that it's their system flagging my card they told me to contact my bank. I attached screenshots of my conversation with my bank and also proof of address with my bank and they never even opened the attachments and continued to blame my bank for the issue. Save you money and don't subscribe to this service.

Over priced rentals

Over priced rentals. I purchased a game and the it took over 2 weeks for a in stock game to ship. You can only rent 1 game at a time I have 2 kids that play Switch and this always causes a problem. Do not use this company at All. Ridiculous shipping times.

Our rental service does operate with a different carrier than our purchases, and we do see occasional delays from them, for a variety of reasons. Sorry to hear that this delivery delay soured you on our rental service, though it sounds like we delivered that game in 3 days time. Hope you're still gaming!

Slow shipping with customer service reps that careless

So not only does this service falsely advertise for free shipping, it's free shipping is locked to the rental service so if you want to buy anything expect a 20$ shipping fee. On top of that they don't take your order seriously whatsoever. 24-48 hours to ship the product not counting the time it takes to get to the shipping facility. They advertise their shipping as priority but the only priority they have is getting you to subscribe to their inefficient mail in service. I wouldnt recommend buying or renting anything from this site.

Very few Blu-ray's, not worth it

Like most other people, I think Gamefly is pretty bad. I wanted to start renting Blu-Rays so I signed up for the 2 movies at a time plan. Unfortunately, there's no way to browse the entire Blu-Ray catalog without signing up first. I signed up and was shocked at how few Blu-Rays they actually have for rental. Almost everything is marked as TBD or coming soon. Now I know why they didn't let me browse the catalog first. It's because they hardly have anything. I can't speak for the game rental plans, but the movie rental plans are awful. I haven't really had problems with the turnaround time like many others, the discs have arrived relatively quickly but what good is that when they only have a few movies available for rent? I'm cancelling after I receive the last 2 movies in my queue.

Awful Company

This company will steal your money. Awful customer service, awful website UI, if something goes wrong with a game they will not hesitate to charge your account without permission and make you jump through hoops to fix it. You can tell why it has such a low rating.

GAMEFLY IS HORRIBLE!!

My account was canceled and they stole my money have refused to return it. Claim my account has information being linked to a different account when it wasn't ever linked other than the address listed was the same address to a different account with an outstanding balance. They then claimed the billing information was the same at the start of the account. The account has 2 different names entirely and they refuse to activate my account. When I asked how I'd go about paying for someone else's account to get my account back I was told I'd either have to return the games or pay for them I don't have the games but have extra money and said how much would it cost $41 said alright how would I go about paying for it? Was told I'd have to log into the account and update the billing information. My response was the obvious why in the world would they help someone go into am account that doesn't belong to them?! Like how SHADY is that?!!?! They still have not issued me a refund for my account and they are refusing to let my account be reactivated. Ah well what they are doing is shady asf and rude asf and last I checked ILLEGAL!!

DO NOT GER GAMEFLY ITS SHADY AND WRONG AND STEALS MONEY!!!!!!!!!!

GAMEFLYS RESPONSE IS STILL FALSE. I HAVE ONLY HAD ONE ACCOUNT WITH THEM. NOT ONLY THAT YOU CAN ONLY HAVE 2 GAMES OUT AT A TIME. NO MORE THAN THAT. SO EVEN RIGHT THERE THEIR RESPONSE PROVES THEY ARE LYING. THEY ALSO TOOK OVER AN ENTIRE YEAR TO SEND A RESPONSE THATS 100% FALSE.

I just bought a Switch Lite Blue and I called GameFly to confirm my order and the agent said everything was good. Right after getting off the phone.. I get an email that my order was cancelled and I called back to find out that they oversold the item and the agent wouldn't of known. The customer service agent just hung up on me... DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM GAMEFLY.

This service is a JOKE

Service is terrible taking approximately 2 weeks to turn games around. They continually blame the post office, but no other company I shop with has this issue. Their customer service is all but non-existant. The minimal effort they pretend to make is generally more infuriating than helpful. I was told that the availability queues to not reflect availablitity for YOU but rather are an average of the whole country. You have absolutely zero way to identify which games are actually available to your specific area.

Customer service and shipping are the worst!

One of the worst customer service department's I have ever had to work with in my life. I started the two games and/or movies out at a time plan. I put two in my queue. After a week they still were not here. Their solution was to resend one of the items and waiting for me to get it before they sent the next one. I was not happy about that, but decided it was not really in their control. I then inquired about a credit since I would not have a game for probably at least two weeks after starting my plan when I should of had two games within a week. They told me that they could give me a credit for one week. I tried to explain that I did not feel like that was adequate due to not having one game for possible two weeks and possibly not getting the second one for three weeks. I told them that if this is how their service was going to work that I would just cancel it. They pretty much told me to go ahead and cancel it.

Terrible shipping and return times

The only good thing about gamefly right now is that they offer 4K blu-ray rentals.

The bad is that it takes an entire week right now, year 2021, Four the turnaround process of when you put the movie in the outbound mailbox to when you receive the movie back in your mailbox. I live in the Midwest and it should not take this long for a turnaround of a movie. For the price I Pay, I would save money and time by using Redbox or a local video rental store. Game fly has a cool service where in when the post office scans the movie to go back to the game fly headquarters, game fly receives that notification and is supposed to send out your movie so that way it’s a faster turnaround. Even with that service, it still takes an entire week for a turnaround and sometimes it’s taken 10 days for the turnaround.

The game fly customer service is atrocious. When it had been eight days since game fly sent out my movie to me and I still hadn’t received it, I called customer service and ask them to send another movie because I hadn’t received it yet. They said to wait longer and they can’t have out more than one movie at one time. I asked if I could upgrade to another tier so they can have two movies out at once. They said that’s not possible and nobody does that. Well I created a new account anyway and was able to sign up for two movies out at one time even though to customer service representative told me that was not possible. The representatives acted like the company will be losing thousands of dollars by sending me one extra movie valued at $20.

I will be canceling GameFly as soon as my membership is up. Oh, you can blame this on the Trump administration or whoever you want or the US Postal Service, but I can still get an Amazon package the same day that I order it or even next day delivery. I should be able to get an envelope delivered to my house within several days and if the us postal service can’t provide that turn around then they can simply use fedex or another service.

Very disappointed

Very disappointed.
Bought 3 kingdoms 14 for the ps4 and they send me a game with chipped sides.
Crap doesn't even download. Now have to fight a refund and STILL find the game. Thanks alot Gamefly.
Never use or recommend this crap again.

Gamefly is crap

It was next to impossible to get any of the games. I had to keep my queue at 50 to be assured to get ANY game, and usually it was nothing even close to what was in my top 5 or top 10, despite those games having "high availability." As an example my top game was GI Joe: Blackout. I doubt that game was so popular that they just couldn't spare one; and if it was, why does it show High Availability? It's pointless to even have a queue.

In frustration I messaged customer service and was told to wait for them to get back to me. Once they decided to message me back they were very condescending and were clearly just copy pasting rhetoric at me. Basically your choices are keep your "queue" down to two or three games and wait weeks for them to be available, or have a queue of 50 games you kinda want to play and get them often, but have no control over which titles you'll get and when.

Don't use this service. They lie about the availability of the games. They lie about the turn around time on mailing. And their customer service is a joke.

EDIT: Now they're trying to get this review removed. I have all my emails saved, and I have the customer service ticket numbers.
Keep trying, scumbags.

Gamefly sucks

Gamefly sucks! Nintendo Switches are impossible to find right now. I have been online looking day and night and finally some popped up on gamefly. I ordered immediately and got a confirmation email for my order. I was so excited as this is a birthday present for my daughter. TWO DAYS later I get another email that my order has been cancelled. No explanation, just cancelled. I send them an email to get some clarification and they state that they did have them in stock, but they sold out very quickly. Why did they let me go through the purchasing process? Why did I get a confirmation email? Why did it take you two days to figure this out? What kind of shoddy business practices are these? If you only have 20 in stock, only allow 20 people to place an order! Really not that hard. This is crap! I could've still been looking for one. Now I'm two days closer to her birthday and likely won't find one in time.

Another GameFly game doesn’t work

Dragon age did not work! Super super disappointed and frustrated since this is the second disc in a row sent to me not being able to play! This was a game I was pretty excited to play when I read the RPG gameplay description. The disc had the tinniest scratch . This time I took photos of the error and can not download to play screen as proof of the unfortunate situation.
