Great customer service and quality own brand shoes. After a poor experience with Barkers who managed to sell me shoes they did not have I went to Herring. I will return as a customer.

In the last 10 years I have ordered quite a few shoes from Herrings, including Loakes, Trickers and Herring own brands. On most occasions I have usually ordered 3 different pairs , worn them carefully at home for a short while.....on carpets as instructed....made my decision on what pair best suits and returned the unwanted shoes back to Herrings. I have never ever had a problem with this company and they are a delight to deal with. May I make one more point. I like English brogue shoes and Herring do specialise in this particular type of shoe.It has been my experience that they do take a while to get used to wearing and to breaking in. English brogues are big,heavy, quite stiff shoes and built to exacting standards to last a long time....they are made to be long wearing. So, in reading some of the comments here regarding the comfort of brogues,you do need to take your time when you first start wearing them.In time I have found that they will loosen and soften and adapt to your foot and how you walk. If you do that then a good English brogue made by Loakes,Barkers,Churches,Trickers etc will give you years of service and will look good and be extremely comfortable. So the cost is worthwhile....all in my humble opinion of course.

Fast delivery, answers all the questions qyickly and the shoes I got were great.
The were also made by alfred sargent and were very close to there handgrades modul keats.
The colour and smell was very attractive.
The leather is very good I think and I think it is full grain crust leather.
According to some people on styleforum it is the same grade of leather as edward green and crockett jones hand grade.
The shoes were a bit dry when I got them, but they had probably been sitting on the shelf for a long time, luckily I know about conditioning and polishing shoes so I knew to condition them to soffen the leather before wearing them, otherwise they would probably have cracked due to being very dry out the box.
I really hope they stock more alfred sargent shoes in the future.
I will buy more shoes from them in the future for sure.

I ordered a pair of Church's from England on Friday. On Monday they arrived in Australia. I immediately received tracking numbers, a return label in case they didn't fit, a complimentary shoe polish and a shoe horn. The shoes were on sale, with genuine 50% off, I could not be happier. Thank you Herring!

Arrived very quickly via DHL (free of charge) with frequent delivery updates in between. Items were well packaged and exactly as described.

Great customer service!
I was given a pair of shoes for father's day. Despite breaking them in, it was causing pain in my foot/ankle. I rang Herring and spoke with Ken who advised me to send them back (free of charge). He contacted me the day after they got them. Although they could see nothing wrong with the shoes, he was happy to take them back and send me another pair of shoes (different brand) free of charge.

As I said, I have never bothered to write a review before for any item I have ever bought...however, I felt compelled to after my recent experience with Herring.

I can honestly say it has been the most pain free customer experience I have ever had. Ken couldn’t help me enough, and his assistance helped me select a bag that is perfect for me. The whole experience felt more like shopping in a local store rather than online.

As for the quality of my Cotswold Weekender bag, it is absolutely fantastic. The leather is of a very high quality, and I can’t see how you could get much better quality for a bag costing hundreds of pounds more from Harrods etc.

I fully intend to make Herring my go to online site for shoes and leather goods from now on.

Herring own brand brogues are probably the worst shoes I’ve ever owned. Ill fitting, cheap quality and poorly made, rigid leather cutting into ankles, blisters like I’ve never experienced. Worn twice to see if they would wear in (not that I’ve had to do this before). I replied to one of the numerous marketing emails received after purchasing, stating my issues and asking for advice but never received a reply.
Binned the shoes as I don’t want to damage my feet any more.

First time ordering from Herring shoes and definitely the last. I bought a pair of their own brand Brogues. I have never had such a bad time breaking a pair of shoes in in my life (I have purchased from multiple shoe makers in the past Church's, C&J, Grenson, Loake etc...)

Even though I stretched them and left them in proper ceder wood shoe trees they are still blistering me to the point of not being able to walk on the sixth attempt.

I have also noticed rips in the leather on both shoes on both sides of the backstay. Very disappointed.

Good service. If you know your fit around the major brands it is great to buy from them. Otherwise you may need to go through a few returns which is quite straight forward.

This company is off the scales with FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE, I have ordered 2 pair of shoes, both times there flawless, I have had cream horn, brush, discount on the next pair, and FREE RETURN, They come the following day, never known such fast service. The chat on line is always very helpful, I have spoken to Dean, and a Chris, both put my mind at ease, and resolved my issues. Adrian the product Director, has got it BANG ON !!
I have used barker and Robinson, both lots of shoes went back, I am always almost anxious on how shoes will be, whether there scratched or damaged in some way. And when you have to pay £11 cos they are expensive to send back. That’s not your fault it works out a lot.
So my Company from now on is HERRINGS SHOES !

Sent the wrong size of socks. When contacted they refused to accept a return as the socks had been washed. No apology just blunt emails. All this after we spent over £250.

Absolutely incredible customer service. It's not until something either goes wrong or you need help from a company that their customer care is put to the test.
