Thank you so much for the great review Celia. We’re delighted to hear you had such a positive experience and enjoyed the quality of the meat. Pig cheeks are such a delicious cut, so it’s fantastic to see them getting the love they deserve. Really appreciate the recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back again soon!
Inadequate packaging. Meat warm on delivery
My order arrived on time but was packed in a plain cardboard box with absolutely no insulation to keep the meat cool. It was warm and the vacuum seal on one of the packages was compromised. The condition of the meat (split pig's head) in that package was not good- the skin was slimy and the colour of the meat was off. I threw it away but the other items looked ok so I kept them. However, the smoked iberico bacon Is delicious. Not sure if I'll order meat from this company again.

Hi Pauline, thank you for your feedback and we’re very sorry to hear about the condition of the pig’s head you received.
With our local deliveries, all orders come straight out of our refrigerated vans and directly into the hands of our customers. They are never left on a doorstep or unattended, which is why we do not include ice packs with these deliveries.
That said, the condition you’ve described is absolutely not up to our standards and we sincerely apologise for this experience. Please do get in touch with me at georgia.cotton@hgwalter.com so I can investigate this properly and arrange a refund for the affected item.
We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed the smoked Ibérico bacon, it's such a lovely product but we completely understand your concerns and would appreciate the opportunity to make this right.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We’re delighted to hear everything arrived safely in Yorkshire and that you were pleased with the packing and presentation. And even more so that you were able to get hold of lambs’ sweetbreads - they can indeed be hard to find.
We hope you enjoyed cooking them and we look forward to serving you again soon.
Decent, but could be better
The sweetbreads tasted fine, but they were not trimmed at all; they all had fat and sinew still attached. Which is not how they are presented on the website.

Thank you for your feedback John. We’re very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the flavour of the sweetbreads, but we’re sorry to learn they weren’t trimmed as you expected. They should be prepared in line with how they’re described and presented on our website. If you would be happy to, please get in touch with us at hello@hgwalter.com so we can look into this further and put things right.
Thank you,
The HG Walter Team
It was a terrible piece of rolled…
It was a terrible piece of rolled beef; we thought ok on first appearance, as marbling present, but it was only surface deep - it had no moisture even though cooked pink rare.. and the fat was disgustingly gamey. That’s 2 out of four pieces of beef now that have been terrible.Give up!

Thank you for your feedback, Charise. We’re very sorry to read how disappointed you were with your rolled ribeye. From your description, it clearly wasn’t the experience you should expect from us, particularly in terms of flavour and moisture. I’ve been in touch with you directly to apologise and to discuss this further, as we take feedback like this extremely seriously - especially when it concerns the quality of our beef. Your comments have also been shared with our butchery and sourcing teams so they can review this carefully.
You must try the Beef Wellington
You must try the Beef Wellington. One of the best Wellingtons I’ve had and I can’t wait to order another one. The 2 portion is very generous and can definitely serve 3/4 with sides.

Disappointed by the product for the overall cost.
Ordering process and delivery was First Class. However, the steaks and the beef stock both lacked the intensity of flavour I was hoping for. I’ll try elsewhere next time.

What a fabulous piece of meat
What a fabulous piece of meat! I ordered a 3 bone dry aged rib of beef and I have got to say it was incredibly tender and flavourful. I also ordered the chimichurri sauce to go along with the beef. Absolutely delicious. All my dinner guests were very impressed too. I highly recommend you guys!
