Buyer Beware - terrible customer service
urchased a gift not realizing they had a strict 14 day return policy. Upon trying on the items we realized we required a bigger size. When contacting Mackage they flat out denied an exchange as it was just outside the 14 day window. We still wanted the correct size item so it was no as if they were not going to sell something but they refused to process a return/ exchange. I even offered to send purchase confirmation of the correct size to authorize the exchange. This kind of customer service- or lack there of - for what pretends to be a luxury brand is completely unacceptable.
This review is not relevant to the quality of their products, but the buying experience and customer service is appalling. Will never buy from this store again!
Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful. Not sure what happened with this company, but their customer service has really declined in the last few years. They have had my return for over a week at this point and are refusing to process it. Every inquiry is met with a rude response. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy from them directly as you will be disappointed.
I sent my jacket in for repairs
I sent my jacket in for repairs and had amazing customer service with special agent Brittany who kept me updated through the process and made the process smooth. Great communication and was amazing!! Such a sweet and amazing girl extremely helpful. Anyone would be very lucky to make her a wife I honestly thought her and my wife were about to become best friends I’ll suggest her and this company to anyone I speak to.
Zipper failure
Bought a Mackage raincoat at Harrods, fits well, looks great, all kinds of great pockets. However, the zipper was finicky from the get-go. I kept thinking I'd get the hang of it as it would finally zip after some delicate finessing and fussing, but after 3 weeks it completely gave up the ghost. The zipper now doesn't work at all and has to be replaced. I was expecting better quality at the price.
Had pleasant experience
Had pleasant experience. Staff were helpful. And I found the product I was looking for. Parka I bought is beautiful and worth the price I paid. It’s warm, beautiful and comfy.
Return policy overly rigid. Customer service rude.
Their return policy is overly rigid and the window is too short. They are unwilling to make any exceptions and will basically let you hold onto an expensive item that doesn’t fit because you missed that arbitrary return window. I used to buy a coat here almost every single year. Their customer service was blunt, rude and unhelpful. I will never be returning.
This company has the absolute worst…
This company has the absolute worst customer service possible. After changing their return policy to 2 weeks, which is ridiculous for a “luxury” company, they deny any exceptions for return requests that are even a few days past this short window. When you try to call a manager they are “away for days”, then on “break” and always with a promise for a response which you can guarantee you won’t get. Will never buy from this company again.
Definitely not worth the money
Definitely not worth the money. Beautiful Jacket I get compliments every time I wear it however, It is rated for -25 and it is really not that warm and the zipper broke on mine and we are only in march. It's brand new from beginning of winter. It is very low quality and made in China unfortunately not worth the money.
Dirty Coat
Bought a coat a couple of years ago, which I was very happy with for a while. However, once the coat got dirty the problems began.
Multiple dry cleaning shops told me they would not be able to clean the coat. It requires specialized cleaning, but the specialists that they use were not willing to clean Mackage. Apparently this is a well known problem.
I tried a few more dry cleaners, before reaching out to Mackage. The response I got what completely unhelpful.
Now I have a coat that cannot be cleaned. I will definitely get my next coat somewhere else.
I do not recommend you will never receive your order
I advise you not to order on this website, because your order will never arrive. They will take your money without even sending you the Arcticles. be very careful. You will never get your money back. Do not trust this company that scams its customers and does not respond to emails. I've been trying to get my money back for months, because I never received my order, but they don't want to know anything and prefer not to answer. here is my order number as proof MKE4065. I'm going to file a complaint at the police station for fraud against this company I see that many customers have been scammed so do the same so that they close their site. It is a scandal that this kind of company can sell without problems on the Internet.
Polyurethane not leather on my coat
I bought the Calina coat online from a third party retailer in December. When it arrived, I noticed the Mackage emblem on the hood wasn’t completely sewn on and there were 3 runs in the material on the hood (almost as if it got jammed in the sewing machine). These weren’t noticeable flaws, so I hung onto the coat trying to decide if I should return it or keep it. The coat was super shiny, I hate to describe it like this but it was like black garbage bag shiny, which isn’t my liking as I preferred a more matte look. Also, I found that I had to handle the coat carefully so that I wouldn't leave scratch marks/lines (not runs) from my nails on the material. That was too high maintenance for me.
January rolled around and I happened to be shopping in-person at a different third party retailer and found the Calina coat, but it was a matte black instead of shiny! I snatched up that coat and made the decision to return the one I already bought. When I got home, I compared the tags on both the coats as I wondered if they were made of different materials as one was shiny and the other was matte. In the end, the only difference I noticed was that the black trimming on the shiny coat was made of polyurethane while the matte coat had real leather trimming! I don’t know if it’s the same across the board for the shiny vs. matte Calina coat, but that was the case for me. I was shocked as both coats had the same price tag. Maybe they were trying to push out a large volume of the coats for the holidays and had to go for polyurethane to keep up with the demand? Still, when you’re paying that much for a coat, you expect it to have real leather. And the emblem not being sewn on completely along with the runs in the material on the first coat were a letdown. This is not the first time I’ve run into problems with Mackage products. They have beautiful designs, but the craftsmanship and quality aren’t consistent.
BROKEN REPAIR PROCESS
I received a new coat from Mackage. The metal logo on the sleeve started chipping, exposing white base metal on this 100% black coat. I notified Mackage 9 days after I received the coat and they instructed me to send an email including photos and a long list of details. I received a prompt response directing me to send the coat in for repair at my expense.
As any reasonable person would, I objected. This brand new coat was defective and was within 14 day return policy. It should be exchanged. I finally agreed but asked them to cover the return costs. They said they would review and reply back. They did not.
When I followed up I was told that I should have filled out an online form instead, which required even more detail. I did, but this form does not generate a submission receipt. I called again and was told they never received my request, so I begrudgingly did it again. Now 6 weeks later I called again and they still had no record of my request. No apology for their broken form or any solutions other than to cross my fingers and try a third time.
Mackage has made returns impossible, even for defective items. It's a clear pattern in the reviews here. This is fraud as they have a posted return policy which I considered before buying but they have made it so that the return policy cannot be accessed. Really despicable.
Lovely coat, all buttons falling off
Lovely long leather coat in a luscious caramel color. But after 7 wearings, all the buttons are falling off; one is lost. For the money, this shouldn’t happen.
Solid quality
I ordered 1 coat, 2 hats , Gloves and three vest. I never had one single issue. You must be home to sign for each item that gets delivered. All quality was great no complaints at all. In one case one of the hats came the very next day. Shipping was speedy.
I purchased a coat on December 14…
I purchased a coat on December 14 online as a Christmas gift for my daughter. I received a notification from FedEx stating that my order was delivered to my place of employment however no item was received. I immediately sent an email and a message to the text notification of the company to no avail. The customer service department told me that I needed to file a police report so that a claim it be filed with FedEx for the missing package. I did this immediately because I needed my package to be fulfilled because it is a Christmas gift and it is a few days before Christmas as of right now. I am extremely disappointed because I have no item nor a resolve from the company, the company stated that it can be from two weeks to eight weeks before FedEx response to them and this is not acceptable. The company has not offered a refund nor a solution immediately for my problem Whatsoever. This is extremely unfortunate and disheartening right now after dealing with a pandemic and the coat cost almost $1300 with tax which is not easy to come by for anyone in today’s climate. I am a person who is hard-working however I have suffered several strokes and this has caused unnecessary stress and anxiety. This company needs to do better and fulfill the promises to the clients. When speaking to the customer service agent they basically told me that after a product leaves their wear house they are no longer responsible no matter what happens. I believe this is abuse of power and the consumer is extremely helpless in these situations. I have purchased items from many high-end companies and I have never in my life received the lack of service that I have just received and I am extremely disappointed and they have lost a customer forever. I purchased another coat from one of their stores and it was a lovely experience which is why I had no issue with purchasing online as the stock in the store was low and online they had an open availability of product.
Returned an online order in Nov 2022
Returned an online order in Nov 2022. The warehouse received my return on Dec 1 2022. And as of today Jan 3 2023 I haven’t received my refund. Whenever I call it’s always the same story. Nobody can tell me when I will get my refund. I will not purchase from Mackage again!! Between my wife and I we have 5 Mackage coats/jackets. This is how they treat loyal customers.
No concern for customer satisfaction!
This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a moderate priced purchase such as this! Most businesses will work with you as far as exchanges but Mackage will NOT! This was my first purchase with Mackage & I wasn’t sure of what size to get as each designer cuts differently. The description of the Evie jacket on the site was contradictory; it said “true to size” then just under that it says “oversized - recommend sizing down”! I ordered my normal size & it was HUGE! The jacket was a final sale & cannot be returned! I sent a screenshot of the conflicting description & pled for an EXCHANGE explaining that I did not want a refund but the answer was no! This was a $500+ purchase that I can do nothing with! Mackage obviously does not care for customer satisfaction! Unless you can try their items on - don’t purchase! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOOOOORST RETURN POLICY
1000000% the worst customer service and overall experience I’ve had with a “luxury” brand.
I purchased a coat as a Christmas gift for my wife, bought it on December 8th to make sure it arrived on time for Christmas. Well today is Christmas and it turns out the coat is just too long for my wife, so I’m like “let me call them to exchange it for another coat”.
This is where it all went south, they tell me my return window “closed” on the 23rd and there is “nothing they can do”. So now I’m stuck with a $1400 dollar coat that doesn’t fit anyone?? Really no exceptions? No extended return period through the holidays? Not even store credit to purchase another one of your items???
Worst. Customer. Service. Period.
BEWARE OF RETURN POLICY
They have a VERY STRICT RETURN POLICY. Purchased this coat online for my son for Christmas, he told me the size he believed he was. Unfortunately, after the fact my son told me he tried on the brand in a store and he believed he ordered the wrong size. When I went to initiate a return come to find out i was 2 days short of the return. Mind you this would’ve been a Christmas gift. I’m stuck with a coat $1000 + coat that fits no one in the house. Customer service stated they could not help, I called back to see if I could do an exchange in a store and the second customer service rep hung up on me. This company would NEVER ever get my coins from me ever.
Faulty jacket - I have to pay for return?!
I purchased a jacket in the Black Friday sale. It arrived with one of the pockets not fully attached on the inside. Thought I’d just try and put up with it and save them and myself the hassle of returning. Unfortunately the problem got worse, I’ve only had it 2 weeks. I emailed, thinking reputable company, I’m sure they will see that this is an obvious manufacturing issue, but no. I have to return it at my cost for a simple repair. What an absolute joke of what is meant to be a luxury brand. They have criteria and policies that they can’t go outside of.. yeah, sure Mackage. I really regret buying from these people. I’ve had a far better experience from far more affordable brands. Brutal, stay clear.
