"Paul" is rude and condescending.
This is my third or fourth order from this company, and the service was always excellent--until it wasn't. I ordered live invertebrates, some in one bag arrived alive, and two that were in a separate bag were dead. I called the number on the box, as instructed, and "Paul" immediately threw up "terms and conditions" about an order that arrived today and I suppose shipped today as well, claiming that because I hadn't opened it within one hour of its arrival, any claim I would have was null and void. That's not what bothered me--the items weren't that expensive--what I cannot abide is the way he spoke to me and the obnoxious, defensive behavior illustrative of a very bad customer-service attitude. I am a science teacher with two master's degrees and 40 years of marine aquarium experience--it's not my first rodeo; however, this guy was so defensive and disingenuous over the phone that I was thoroughly disgusted. He obviously cares nothing about customer service or the fact that something may have gone wrong with shipping or his livestock (the water was cold, despite there being a heat pack in the box that was still warm). I've never been spoken to in such an impatient, defensive manner over a simple matter of dead shrimp. It was so unnecessary. Despite the positive past experiences with this company, I can't see myself ever doing business with "Paul" again. I am very dissatisfied, and I believe he should evaluate how he speaks to his customers, including former customers.

Thank you for your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that your recent experience left you dissatisfied. However, we also want to clarify the sequence of events to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Your order was delivered at approximately 1:40 pm, and we did not receive your call until around 6:30 pm about five hours later. When I asked about the time gap and the condition of the items during that period, the conversation you became very tense, and it was difficult to explain our DOA terms and conditions, which all customers agree to at the time of purchase. I also requested photos so that we could properly assess the issue, but it was challenging to continue because I was repeatedly spoken over.
I understand that you are a teacher, and I respect your profession; however, I felt the manner in which I was addressed was disrespectful, and no staff member should be spoken to that way. I acknowledge that I reacted, and I regret if my tone came across as unprofessional, but respectful communication must go both ways. We are here to help never to be mistreated.
I have worked very hard to turn my passion for this hobby into a business, and I always aim to provide the best livestock and prices possible. It was disappointing to see multiple negative reviews posted about the same order, which felt excessive and harmful, especially in my 26 years of experience.
Our DOA policy is in place to protect both the customer and the business. As stated in our terms, we must be notified within timeframe of delivery, and photos must be provided within four hours so that we can investigate and resolve any issues promptly.
But it was very challenging when you shouting at me down phone about you are teacher and you don’t get home till 6.30pm, and refusing to send photo evidence are hands tied.
We appreciate your previous orders and your support, and we truly regret that this situation escalated the way it did.

Ordered 5 strawberry crabs. 2 came near enough instantly which were packed perfect no issues. Waited about 3 weeks for the other 3 strawberry crabs, these were posted in -3 degree temperature and all came near enough frozen (DOA) contacted customer support same day. Got a response the day after saying if I would have dealt with the situation better I might have got a refund.
Told me they have some problems with parcels being left in vans overnight. That’s great when it’s freezing overnight.
No sorry nothing, just I should have dealt with it better.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re genuinely sorry to hear about the issues with your order. Receiving livestock DOA especially after a long wait is understandably disappointing. The delay occurred because these crabs are extremely rare, with no other UK outlets currently stocking them. We had exclusive availability, and customers were informed that new stock arrives only every 2–3 weeks depending on our suppliers.
Your first two crabs arrived quickly and in perfect condition, which is exactly how the process should work. We understand your frustration regarding the delay and the condition of the remaining three. We ship live animals year-round, but always subject to weather conditions, as their safety is our priority. We recently began using a new courier, and we suspect that parcels may have been loaded the night before and left outside a concern we are currently investigating with the courier as a matter of urgency.
However, temperatures on the day and evening of delivery were not at freezing levels, and the screenshot you sent showing –3°C was taken from your vehicle the day after the crabs were delivered. We also requested the required DOA evidence in line with our Terms & Conditions, which was not fully provided.
All our livestock is packed with the highest level of care, regardless of cost. Each shipment is sent in a 3-ply cardboard outer box with a polystyrene inner, fully heat-shielded and heat-packed. In particularly cold conditions, we also add additional packing materials and double heat packs to ensure the animals’ safety.

Brought 2 starfish that they stated…
Brought 2 starfish that they stated were in stock (order MWA#11741), chased them a week later and they posted one out and refunded me by request for the other, expensive purchase with postage that I would not have bolthered with - If you do not have it dont take money for it.
I have not mailed the info@ box again, as they mailed me on Friday stating then use someone else basically, an LFS was what they actually put, followed by a sarcastic mail that just read - "Thousands of customers" - advice treat all customers well they are your future, thousands can become small numbers if you don't!

Regarding Order MWA#11741, the stock levels was our mistake, and we fully understand how disappointing it is to order two items only to learn later that one but we sell a lot stock and just because showing available doesn’t mean it was available at purchase time.
You ordered x2 starfish at very good price and very good £14.95 postage price included packagine.
We was sending x1 starfish then other at time when available at our cost no extra to you, it was your self what requested refund this was done instant!!!
I also want to sincerely apologise for the tone of the emails you received. That is not the level of service we aim to provide. Your feedback is important, and no customer should feel dismissed or spoken to sarcastically but we expect the same in return.
We value every customer whether one or thousands and we appreciate you highlighting this. Your experience matters, and we will use your feedback to improve both our stock accuracy and our customer service.

Marine World - Superb
Marine World have a superb website, and this enabled me to make an informed decision about which marine fish would be compatible together. The marine fish were delivered in a sturdy box and they were all in a very healthy condition. I would definitely buy fish from them again and I have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

Do a chargeback thru your bank and get full refund
First order , good apart from when they lie and say it will be dispatched on wednesday but takes 2 weeks to arri e, Second order. Three fish were dead I contacted them straight away.They would not Refund . I should have looked at the reviews And I shouldn't have ordered again, but I did the next order.Most of the livestock were dead
This company will not give you a refund
But you can get your money back, go onto your banking app or go to your bank and All you need to do is a charge back.It takes literally five minutes, Or you people that have not been happy with the service.As long as it's within four months , you can do a charge backon your card , and receive a full refund,

Short wait due to stock availability but that was not a problem. Urchins arrived very well packed and in great condition. Competitive pricing and reasonable delivery cost. Would definitely buy from again.
