Thoroughly recommend MarketCarpets above Carpetright etc
Brilliant.
Good selection, good value and easy to organise fitting and brilliant fitters.
The fitters were prompt and efficient and very careful around our recently decorated walls!
We also had some stair treads which turned out fab.
Only thing they could change would be to do surveys after hours (after 5pm) as most couples cannot get time off together to check carpets, colours etc.

I would like to say a big thank you for your service.
I would like to say a big thank you for a lovely carpet chosen by our granddaughter. We arranged and paid for this as we've used you for our own houses before. Anyway, I'm just thanking your team close to where we live. We were well treated and served. Because of the circumstances surrounding our granddaughter's situation, the gentleman went above and beyond what was expected to help our situation, arranging a wonderfully quick and efficient service including carpet and a fitter, who alone did a wonderful job completely carpeting the house.
We say thank you to your team for a wonderful job and carpet, we are extremely grateful and pleased with your service as always.

Genuinely the best.
Just had bedroom carpet fitted - the second one I’ve had done by Market Carpets in Tiverton, Devon. They really are top professionals and make me feel confident of the choice I’m making. The two fitters, Matt & Rob, were really friendly and even though they arrived late in the afternoon (which I was aware was happening right from booking stage) they fitted the carpet so fast without compromising the quality of service whatsoever. I honestly can’t say that I would choose to use any other firm. Nice one Market Carpets!

My wife and I recently purchased…
My wife and I recently purchased another carpet from Market Carpets on Marsh Barton. Despite the Covid virus, the 'warehouse' was well organised and staff brilliant as usual. Pricing is always competitive with the Company and despite a little hic-cup with the manufacturer (no fault of M.C) Richard (Mkt Carpets) responded and sorted everything immediately and professionally. The 2 fitters came, great guys, carpet fitted, left everything clean and tidy, great job done. When our bedrooms are to be carpeted, M.C will be our first port of call.

Check the verbal prices!
They don’t feel like a local company you can trust anymore! I feel I have been overcharged because when they give you prices in the shop they are confusing. By the time I found out I was desperate for new flooring as we had had a new kitchen fitted and dust was kicking up so I went through with my purchase. It has left a bad taste. Just bought a used car and that was more upfront.

Happier than a prop forward in mud!
Excellent service from purchase to fitting. I was recommended them by a friend and am not disappointed. I explain that I had never purchased carpet before, the shop guy, whose name I have forgotten, was very helpful and did not try to sell me the most expensive carpets. He listened to what I needed and advised me. I am delighted with the end result.
The fitters were friendly and professional, they laid two carpets in just less than an hour and did an excellent job.

Recent experience
All in all a very easy experience with Market Carpets in Exeter. From the help in the showroom, a punctual meeting to measure up and discuss requirements, to the good quality finish and the clean and tidy completion. Wouldn't have any hesitation in using them again. Thanks to all.

I am sorry you are unhappy with your experience, as a company we feel we have tried to rectify the situation for you the best we can. As the vinyl was purchased via telephone, our measurer did not see your property to be made aware your floor was recently concreted. When you contacted us to tell us your floor had bubbled we arranged for the fitter to come back to the property to see what had happened as when he fitted your flooring it was to a satisfactory standard with no problems. The fitter hadn't seen this before and was unsure as to why the flooring had bubbled as much as it did, therefore he offered to fully bond the vinyl and refit it for you to see if that would rectify the issue, at a reduced cost, which you declined and made contact with us at the shop. We then offered to investigate it further for you using our damp meter, we came and put it into place and returned 48 hours later to see the damp reading had exceeded the limits for vinyl installation, we can forward the images of this if required. Market Carpets can only fit to areas presented and accept no responsibility for problems created by any sub floor following the fitting of any floor-covering.

hidden costs on the invoice, but only seen once paid
So we’ve used market carpets a fair bit in the last few years, and most recently had our floor in the kitchen done in clip in vinyl boards (which are very nice)
However it came to taking some flooring back for a refund as it was over ordered, and when he told me how much I was getting back it was slightly below my expectation based on simple maths, firstly I got given 33% discount but only on the floor and not there massively expensive underlay of which you have to order in 10square metres, of which only 5.7 where used , the fitted from them never left that behind either, so he’s got enough easily for an average bathroom to be done at my expense.
Next when he broke down the invoice you know the one you just pay and never really look at based on honesty at point of sale and you only see once paid, was the hidden cost...... delivery charge? It was taken by their supplier to the store and picked up by the fitter.... and I paid almost £30 for this? Next was the hidden fee for fitting, £10 admin fee? Neither of these costs are upfront explained to you, as I wouldn’t of used these guys and got my own fitter!
The fitter, you pay £100 cash to him on the day at fixed cost, since when does a floor guy earn over £50 pound an hour? He’s wasn’t even two hours at my home and then he told me he has 4 other jobs to go to? £500 pound a day? Madness.
Overall I’m
Happy with the fitting and the guy did a nice job but I think market carpets have been dishonest and made this refund work in the favour of the company and not the consumer! I will avoid in future... oddly enough I have two floors I want to do this year and I’ll be using the competition. Bad marks for not being transparent with your Charges.
