I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a Mercedes A200 AMG Line Premium Plus from Stephen Berndt last month, and I can honestly say the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish.

From my initial enquiry to having the car delivered to London in just 8 days, everything was handled with incredible efficiency and professionalism. Stephen went above and beyond right from the beginning, providing a detailed and thorough walkaround video of the car that gave me complete confidence in my purchase, even before seeing it in person.

What really set him apart, though, was his dedication to customer service. When the car arrived, he spent a full hour on the phone with me, patiently guiding me through all the features and ensuring everything was set up perfectly. No question felt too small, and no request was ever treated as a problem. In fact, he even accommodated a couple of custom requests at no extra cost, which was a really appreciated touch.

Stephen is incredibly thorough, patient, and clearly very knowledgeable about the vehicles he represents. It’s rare to find someone so committed to making the experience smooth and enjoyable.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to all my friends, and I would absolutely buy from him again. A fantastic ambassador for Mercedes Exeter—his excellent work truly deserves recognition.

SERVICE DEPARTMENT REVIEW

If you are not on a service plan with Mercedes-Benz and are looking for a premium service from a business that values your custom and communicates effectively, I would suggest avoiding this dealership.

My experience was extremely poor from start to finish. The level of customer service fell well below expectations, with my personal details recorded incorrectly. I received little to no updates unless I actively chased, and there was a clear lack of empathy when my car was retained for an extended period.

In addition, I experienced a lack of transparency throughout regarding repairs and pricing. I was not provided with costs in writing prior to initial work commencing, supporting documentation for the repairs was only shared after I requested it with the technician’s handwriting being illegible. There was also a lack of transparency regarding exactly what was being repaired and which parts were being used. There was no clear scope of work or reliable completion timeline. For a main dealership, I find this completely unacceptable.

I have raised a complaint with the General Sales Manager prior to writing this review and was informed that this level of service is considered acceptable and within their expected standards, which, in my view, speak volumes.

I bought an approved used Mercedes, and George arranged the sale and test drive. On the delivery day the car had all the work completed as discussed, and handover was in-depth. George also was very responsive when there were issues adding services such as CarPlay, he quickly resolved these.

Pleasant and helpful on phone, excellent support from Dan to fit space saver wheel and guide us to garage where quickly fitted new tyre. Staff could not have been more helpful and friendly at the garage.

I have been going to Mercedes Exeter for over 20 years, and I have always found them very professional and knowledgeable with respect to Mercedes cars, having had 10 Mercedes of varying types. I am very pleased with the treatment I receive.

Service was completed within 90 minutes. I wasn't sent an email detailing any issues. The service manager didn't discuss any faults. There was no report given about the service only that it had been completed and a 2nd page detailing past service history. At the end the service manager tried to charge me £299 for the service without checking if I had any service plan in place. Which I do. Also, for second time the car wasn't washed or valeted. I did ask and was given excuse no valeters were working yet I saw them working and another manager told me they were working. Overall, disappointed with Mercedes Benz Truro

We recently purchased a car and Esme was brilliant. Very helpful and accommodating when I viewed the vehicle especially as it was quite late in the day. Handover was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, she helped us set up the Mercedes app and answered all our questions. Would definitely recommend to others and looking forward to dealing with her again when its time to change the vehicle.

Very good call out experience,sorted my car to be delivered for repairs to Taunton south west ,loan car delivery was excellent,and repairs carried out efficiently.my only surprise was after a five hundred pound repair ,and the car as only done 1700 miles and spending best part of £120k they never bothered to wash the car .

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Mercedes-Benz South West
My experience with Mercedes-Benz South West was highly unsatisfactory. There was a lack of transparency, poor communication, and promises that were not honoured. What should have been a premium customer experience turned into a stressful ordeal. I would advise potential buyers to proceed with caution.

Alex made our experience simple and straightforward right from the very start. He listened to us completely and was honest and professional throughout the whole process. Never have we met a sales person so honest and genuine.

Didn't intend using MB South West at Taunton as it is really a bit too far away for me (105 miles), but they seemed to stock the only GLE450's Prem Plus in Selenite Grey nearly new with low mileage in the country at this time. After a series of events I ending up buying one and must say what a great dealership. Very nice sales team and went the extra mile to meet my needs. Would definitely use them again and travel the extra 95 miles !

I picked up my new AMG 45 s from Mercedes Truro last week. The whole experience was amazing. The staff were very friendly, very knowledgeable and very helpful, they did everything they could to make me feel valued and at ease, nothing was too much trouble.
I definitely recommend this dealership.
