This organisation is a sham and the only star comes from a SUUUPER cool counsellor I had called Neusha. She was brutally honest, down to earth and caring. I was honestly gutted that she left and our sessions were limited as she was an absolute queen!

Until I had another “therapist” in my catchment area who was an absolute witch. I’ll just bullet point what she done and Natalie Barso/Natalie Cray is a FRAUD - For anyone who is curious literally Google the first name 🐸☕️

- She was very adamant on me going on camera when I have body dysmorphic disorder. So I went on camera as “she didn’t feel comfortable and wanted to see who she’s talking to”.

- Tried to sell me private sessions under the guise of a volunteer at £90 per session which is predatory.

- Made some very derogatory comments about my “biological clock” - Hint, I’ve suffered pregnancy losses and have severe health anxiety. She even said some real negative comments such as, “Life doesn’t work out for some people no matter how hard they try” and made some comments about me having a disability and shamed me for being out of work - Well funny, I googled her name and her socials show that 1. She is single at nearly 60, “scared”, living alone and being broken into and 2. Is looking into van life due to probably not being able to find work due to her bad rep. Maybe a little bit of projection there? 🤣

- When I also googled her name, multiple fraud articles are linked to her and her ex husband who is a fraudulent solicitor who got struck off for conning his clients. Mind LITERALLY takes on crooks! Where is the screening?!

- Her reputation is so serious that I briefly spoke to a medical professional in the same area of the Mind branch about this and she actually said, wow! That name is familiar and I heard about this case.

- She CHANGED her name and is practicing under a new one. She doesn’t brush up on her social media hygiene and has been stalking me on LinkedIn under this new name “Natalie Cray”. This was YEARS after our sessions which was 2023ish and I was actually notified via email about all of the views from her on an old LinkedIn account that I forgot about.

- She also kept popping up as friend suggestions on my socials so I blocked ALL of the accounts.

- She made some accusations about my mother which caused some unnecessary family arguments and tension. My mum walked into one of the sessions by accident and did not like the vibe or look of this therapist too. What is even FUNNIER is that she is practicing as a family therapist under the “reconnection club”.

What is worse is that Mind did NOTHING and do not vet their therapists!! A very rude and unprofessional administrator called Dawn Stenning even had the cheek to patronise me, keep calling me and said “Sorry the therapy sessions weren’t what you wanted to hear”. Their way of dealing with it was calling and asking her. And guess what? They look her word for it and even DENIED all responsibility, gaslit me and said “She no longer volunteers for us”.

My story is on the extreme end but if you have a disability or mental health issue, build a REAL support network and heal yourself. It is better than experiencing abuse like this or wasting thousands on private therapists who PROFIT from people’s misery. Because once you get better, THEY STOP MAKING MONEY and organisations like these are no better, luckily I got my money back from PayPal after paying a deducted rate for the sessions.

There are tons of self help resources out there and these people are NOT there to help you. THEY LITERALLY DO NOT CARE. Only YOU can heal yourself and I’m thankful to have got better and have a support network so I won’t have to rely on this type of thing.

This stuff really affected me mentally and set my anxiety sky high but luckily I’m now better and moved out of the area. But I don’t care what personal stuff were discussed in the sessions or what this “therapist” is looking to use against me. But one more step out of line, I’m reporting it to the BACP and the police as I have all of the evidence (especially of the LinkedIn stalking/monitoring). I will NOT back down and delete my review over stalking. And whoever thinks that they can get away with messing with someone when they’re vulnerable like that, messed with the WRONG person!

Zero stars – Poor support and questionable confidentiality

I called Mind in Bradford for support and spoke to a man named Tom.

He immediately asked "have you called up before " and when I challenged him on why ? (especially as he didn't explain as this was meant to be about my health) he became defensive and gave a weird, evasive answer regarding he was just wondering that wasn't relevant to my situation.

If it’s not a Mind-related question about the service, he shouldn’t be asking closed questions that way.

This is supposed to be about the person calling for help, not about him.

On top of that, if Mind don’t actually fancy supporting people properly, why are they even open on a Sunday?

It’s also supposed to be a confidential service, but the way he responded made it come cross anything but confidential and been supportive to myself. Very disappointing experience.

My gp of 20 years recently referred me to independent councelling at my surgery. Unfortunately it turned out to be mind and the information leaflet specifically stated they dont provide counselling, so I said what they were offering was not suitable but if they did have counselling available i would be interested, this was recorded as refusing councelling and my GP started shouting at me (he knows about my childhood trauma, my dad has dementia and his current aggression is triggering flasbacks, i was raped 3 years ago, basically every man has abused me in every way possible, he was the only man I felt safe with trusted) the lie this ' councellor ' did has destroyed my only safe link to healthcare. she did offer help to get things in perspective though. Mind were also mentioned in mazars report, they are unethical, just a corporate business, I cannot use cmht either (which he slso shouted to me about) as the nurse emdr therapist that destroyed my therapeutic safeplace when trying to get me to drop complaint about the clinical director of southern health Ray Vieweg, who within months of my complaint voluntarily left the gmc register, she still works at local team! Yet im the one refusing all help offered. Mind have destroyed my only support, completely unethical . They lie to gps about what they actually provide, coloring in is not going to fix being threatened with guns axes crossbows and being locked in a house while its being set on fire

I’ve just bought a jumper from Mind Charity via Vinted. It wasn’t cheap but it was from Asket an expensive Swedish clothing company with good sustainable ethos and quality credentials.
I’ve had an excellent experience. The communication was good. My parcel arrived promptly well packaged and in good condition. The Asket jumper is excellent. All very good. Thank You Mind.

The charity shop Moortown Leeds, went in with 2 bags of quality clothes, as had noticed a sig in window asking for donations of clothes, was told by that they needed to look inside the bags as they do not accept bedding told them what was inside, the woman who was extremely rude insisted she looked in bags, as obviously did not believe me. next time will not leave anything there ,I take items to other charity shops, and not once have been treat like this, next time will noy take anything here.

I tried to volunteer in one of their charity shops. You get an email saying you will receive a response within a week, but to no avail. I tried chasing more than 5 times, by email, phone and in shop, but it was chaotic. Eventually after 3 months I was told they didn't have capacity for more volunteers right now, but there was no system for estimating when they might or storing my details. I tried to follow up and share feedback through their head office, but the response was largely disinterested.

If you've got serious mental health issues they will get rid of you

The new shop opened on Market Street. Thought i would nip in. I simply questioned the pricing of the items in the shop as they were ridiculously priced. The abuse i received from the woman at the checkout was an absolute disgrace. I simply asked how they could charge £12 for a used dress, which was labelled as a Primark, together with another dress from a supermarket brand priced up at £15. The cost of living is literally wiping families out, whilst these charities are profiting from this. The verbal abuse i received from this woman was bang out of line and i will be taking this further. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this shop at all.

They tell you to email them with your problems. And they are supposed have a therapist email you back. What ACTUALLY happens is you get a response email, no doubt an ai agent, with a list. "I see that you mentioned youare anxious" so call this phone number. And despite the fact the link was found on mind, they recommend mind to you again!it difficult having to find the strength to reach out once, let alone doing it again and again.

Had 2 accounts suspended from moderators absolute disgrace over comment after comment breaking community guidelines although post was not effecting community members community as a whole good caring bunch of members moderators are uncaring thoughtless dont like crictism exposed this see this site as a sham where not allowed express any sort of opinion without post removed by moderators breaks community guidelines disgusting not supporting u at all patronising to people struggling we are sorry we are sorry just a word means nothing no wonder people are struggling no support at all mind forum avoid at all costs make u feel worse poor service

I have no idea where Mind recruits it's 'Side By Side' forum Moderators from, I previously thought the Gestapo had been disbanded.

Terribly one sided, users are not allowed to challenge tellings off, even if their views and comments are polite and valid because "it's in the guidelines', subjective depending on which one of the 20+ moderators is on shift, lacking empathy and understanding in my personal opinion.

Please avoid the charity shop in York I took my partners jeans back with receipt told me they don't give cash back exchange only , so I asked for a credit note as it wasn't my money the lady said we don't do credit notes , there is no where in the shop saying they don't give cash back and it's exchange only and nobody told us when the jeans were purchased wish is actually against the law , that weekend we went to pocklinton took the jeans with us in case we saw something in their Mind shop ,we find a top for the grandson took it to the till the lady was lovely got on to the topic about exchange only she said who told you that we said the lady in the York store the lady then showed us the notice behind her saying mind shops give you your money back with returns with in 28 days of purchase, she was very angry how we had been treated she said she was going to ring the York store and have a word with them

The Birmingham helpline is not just bad it;s toxic. I got through to someone called Omarhee. I would go so far to say that he was evil. I was really stressed and burdened . I told them about my son who was mistreated after I was told I could open up about anything . I told them my son had no criminal record and was yet hounded. Omarahee then went off on some long tanginet about criminals being like other people . Which I did not dispute or agree with as I was here to talk about a personal issue I was sticking to facts of my experience however Omarhee needed to make the call about him but at the same time did not like questions about his qualifications in Mental Healh or other personal realites . . This situation I had mentioned had caused much stress to my family and the corrupt state actors involved has got away with too much so I talk to Albabians .
Rather then empathise like you would expect someone to do in such a position as being a mentl health support worker. Or just just a decent human being . Omahree turned the call into a toxic confrontation blocked me openning up about the above issue and my own mental helh battles . He seemed to get triggered that we were a law abiding family that don't do drugs or drink . As the issues related to corrupted public services and unfairness . While being disempowering and blocking , he kept repeating senstive details of what I told him as if were wanting others to hear , he kept making judgmental apraisals . A horrible person like I say that was more into the gosip angle and devaluing an experience that my son went through , I really believe a man like Omharee and his co workers in the safety of their office work and fake sense of power would not have been able to cope as dignfied as my sons experience which Omarhee just called a story . In a saracy way.
As Mind appear to be a complcit part of the disepowerment of the poor and those without infleucne today . They appear to want to join in and further alinate vulnerable people .
The people who work on this phoneline must have started doing the same for free at the Sams and their bad behaviour get;s rewared by a bunch of middle class managers out to milk the economy of missery where a whole sector of fake helpers get rich and well paid out of the missery of others and stoping others ever finding any breathing space or hope. I think the vast majority of reviews on here appear to back up what I experienced and put truth upon minds fake position in societ of being a mental health support service . Omaree did not sound like he had much between the ears to be honest . Just like argument and missusing terms all it kew was it wanted to stop a voice being heard or any avenue to empathy and ease .
A horribel person let off the leash by posh unversity educated men and women of a upper middle class demographic . To stop people being heard helped , or the service to ackowledge the corrupt nature of the nhs and others who are all happy to collect public money but in no way want to be held to account or offer their share holders the tax payer help when they need it .
I would close down mind if I could and sack them all without any pay outs the law is not worth anything anymore anyway.
While Omarhee can play the narcesist and exploit the trouble and tarmoil of others sitting at a desk in a cushy ofice job . Others like me have to go out and work on heavy machinerey after being made to feel worse by this non support line .

I think Mind's Side By Side website is great.....an opportunity to talk to other users. It's free, although I recently donated.

I just have 2 criticisms:

1. Their decisions about what we can or can't say are totally arbitrary and completely inconsistent.

2. The moderators set themselves up as God - the knower of all things - or the Pope - infallible. You can't criticise them. In fact you get a ticking off if you even attempt to challenge them.

Unfortunately not good. In the past I have had a good experience.

My experiences are with Mind and their Integrated Partners Creative Support throughout Birmingham and Solihull area's primarily. The services being offered to me falls way short of my own definition of effectiveness and professionalism. A high majority of paid as well as volunteers are discriminatory and only appears to dehumanise and personally victimize persons with Mental Health or indeed vulnerable Neurodivergent conditions. They are rude and appear uncaring. They break all confidence and rapport by sharing confidential information to statutory public services and refuse all services unless the person divulges personal information. If challenged or asked to explain why this extent of personal information is necessary as part of their so called risk assessments they resort to their principal of being "it is our policy and procedure.". They refuse to listen to reason and fail to answer or respond to complaints. I feel abused as one evening on contacting the helpline, I was subjected to a Mental Health assessment as this employee I was talking to contacted the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health team behind my back subjecting me to an unnecessary and very stressful situation. When I enquired into the reasons for this, I was duly informed she had logged the call to the helpline but there was no mention of a referral to the out of hours emergency service. When I enquired into this and expressed my concerns I was shut down immediately and felt even more victimized, bullied and undervalued, with little care to the effects to my wellbeing. I feel this service overall is less than caring and is ripe with inequality and prejudice for the persons they are supposed to being helped and supportive with, which is what their public funding is ment to be for. I do not believe any of their public funding or charitable donations provides the care and support this money is intended for. I am absolutely disgusted with this service today and feel the quality of services has certainly become poor and ineffective. My latest experience was today the 5th December 2025 I felt I was being personally attacked through judgement and lack of empathy at what I am experiencing through Mind personnel. I felt threatened and the labels were totally unnecessary. I had endured one Recovery Champions misleading opinion that I was being aggressive and they had even suggested I was potentially violent and others in their care needed to be kept safe. I understand all too well Safeguarding but this person was making me feel frustrated and overwhelmed on purpose with his false assumptions or preposterous suggestions. If he was attempting to gain an unacceptable reaction, he certainly did not get it. These Mind Games are unacceptable and demeaning...

I had to ask for help because the situation I was in was very scary I can’t say anything positive about this section of helplines they are very disrespectful the managers overload and overwhelm workers with more and more individuals which means they spend an hour a week with one client what can get done in this little time is very little but we are service users need to think of the person meant to be helping us I’ve been shouted at by a manager in the past about challenging wrong doing. The lady was very nice she had a kind heart I believe she wanted to help more but with her limitations on timing plus I went for a grant to try get a carpet because of my sensory issues due to autism but for some reason I only got £300 towards a carpet when the living independently grant would normally cover the whole thing so I’m not sure they know how to apply for grants in the proper way. I find mind complex housing make things worse for vulnerable people because they get spoken down to not treated with kindness and respect I will not mention the ladies name but I will open up about her manager they are pure rude they make asking for help taxing because they overload then deflect and blame shift it’s impossible to get true understanding at times of need for this I can say this service needs to be fully audited and customers who’ve used this service should be asked questions this service is paid by tax payers money it’s funded by the tax payer to help the most vulnerable
