Four Plus years of Loyalty
Four Plus years of Loyalty, Zero Support When It Actually Matters!
My experience with Naked has been nothing short of disappointing.
After being a loyal customer for more than four years, I recently submitted a claim following the theft of my device. What followed was a frustrating, exhausting process that felt less like a genuine claims assessment and more like an exercise in finding reasons not to honour a claim.
Throughout the process, I was repeatedly sent from pillar to post, asked for multiple rounds of supporting documentation, and subjected to two validation calls with the appointed validator, Nelisiwe. Rather than feeling supported during what was already a stressful situation, I found the interactions to be unnecessarily interrogative and, at times, condescending.
Despite my full cooperation throughout the investigation, Naked ultimately rejected my claim on the basis that an additional supporting document was allegedly not provided within a very narrow timeframe.
To reject a theft claim on what appears to be an administrative technicality, after weeks of requests for information and validation processes, feels incredibly unfair.
What is most disappointing is the impression that the focus was not on understanding the facts surrounding the theft, but rather on identifying loopholes that could be used to avoid paying out a claim.
As a customer who has faithfully paid premiums for years, I expected a fair, transparent, and customer-centric process.
I have since escalated the matter to the Ombudsman and requested recordings of both validation sessions as part of that process.
Insurance is tested when customers need it most. Unfortunately, when I needed Naked, the experience left me feeling unsupported, unheard, and deeply disappointed.
I cannot recommend this claims experience to anyone considering Naked as their insurer.
