Excessive Property Insurance
As a leaseholder I am charged an excessive annual fee for buildings insurance (nb not inclusive of any contents insurance) of over £600 for a one bedroom ground floor flat. This is almost twice as much as my 4 bedroom detached house (worth over 3 times more in resale value) and over 3 times more than the insurance on another one bedroom house ( with the same resale value as the ground floor flat). These latter two premiums also include contents insurance which further emphasises the extortionate premiums charged by Pier. In addition the annual increase in Piers’ insurance charges also exceeds the CPI / RPI by a large margin - which explains why their current charges are now totally in excess of real market insurance premiums.
When I have complained they hide behind a comment saying that their insurance broker always conducts an in market valuation exercise but this clearly cannot be true as the premiums would not be so out of alignment with the rest of my insurance premiums on other properties. It might also reflect that there have been incidences where insurance brokers and client managing agencies have often been accused of colluding to inflate building insurance premiums?

We have been very happy with the help and information that we have received by Rebecca Robert’s in respect of dealing with outstanding issues connected with the previous owners of our property. Rebecca was also very efficient in getting documents completed quickly that were required by our solicitors. I am very pleased with my dealings with Annice. I had some questions about the lease on my mother's flat. I through I would have to deal with lots of people all passing me on to someone else but Annice was able to deal with all my questions. After checking that I was able to speak on my mother's behalf (I confirmed that I have power of attorney) Annice was very quick to respond and answered all my questions.

Unlawful management fees. Pier annually seek to levy unlawful management and insurance fees despite them having no legal entitlement to do so under the terms of our lease. AVOID

I have recently sold my flat and both Helen Burns and Theresa Jarman were extremely professional in the way they answered the queries from the Buyers solicitors and always swiftly . They also resolved an issue I had with a restriction with the title at the land registry . Excellent service from both of them.

Theresa Jarman has been so incredibly helpful on the most complex situation with a conveyancing lawyer. This lawyer has repeatedly asked questions whilst not taking notice of information given. I have in turn repeatedly asked Theresa to supply me with a long list of answers to his numerous questions which she has patiently done. She also has expedited a title at land registry.
