I strongly recommend that you don’t use this service. I booked in advance and paid over £700 up front. On the day of fitting, the subcontracted fitting company cancelled citing staff sickness as the reason. RAC could only offer a fitting with another subcontractor a week later than the original appointment. When I said that wasn’t good enough they just said refund was the only option. Worse they won’t refund until the subcontractor has returned the tyres so I am entirely dependent on their goodwill to do so. The RAC model is broken, no buffer for staff shortages and they hand things off to third parties. I will never use this service again.

The actual purchase and fitting was brilliant and deserves a 5 star review but completely let down by total lack of communication when I raised a question about when I would receive the £20 Amazon voucher due to purchasing 2 tyres. They sent a questionnaire about my experience but this didn’t work, apparently because the captcha process was defective.

Update! No correspondence with RAC still but an email on 12 August asking me to claim my voucher.

NOKIAN Seasonproof silent tyres are expensive but excellent grip and less noisy with the EV. Good choice of tyres from RAC with quick delivery/fitting times. Evotech garage balanced wheels well

I recently purchased a tyre online from RAC Tyres. I found their website user friendly and the tyre competitively priced. The fitter were just 0.40 miles from where I live. The fitter were friendly and quite helpful. A very good experience overall. I would be quite happy to recommend them.

All ok, bought through RAC and fitted by Days in Garngoch. Very pleased.

I purchased 4 tyres on the 30th June for fitting at 8am on 1st July.
I turned up, the garaged was closed, someone opened up around 8.20 who stated my tyres were not there.
Contacted RAC for an update at 9am and never received one.
I called at 12 and the person on the phone hid behind terms and conditions, stating it isnt their fault the tyres were not there as they are a mail order company and it was a logistics issue.
The problem I have is, why give people a date and time for fitting if it isnt achievable.
The RACs process needs review, after reading other reviews it seems I am not the only person this has happened to.
Its simple, don't give a time to fit, make sure the fitting garage calls to confirm they have received and to organise an agreed time slot before making a journey. I have taken half a day of annual leave to have these fitted.
I have personally chased the delivery of the tyres and they are now at the garage and will be fitted on 2 July but I now need to take another half day annual leave because RAC or "Colewood Automotive" could not deliver on their commitments.
The company would be upset if I missed my appointment but RAC colleagues couldnt care less they didnt meet their commitments.

"I ordered four Toyo tyres with mobile fitting and paid £663.04. The fitter attended but was unable to fit the tyres, saying there was an issue inflating them. No tyres were fitted, and the tyres were taken away. RAC initially refunded £603.04, retaining a £60 attendance charge. After I challenged this, they increased the refund to £633.04 but still retained £30, despite no tyres being fitted. I appreciate the refund, but I'm disappointed that I'm £30 out of pocket for a service that wasn't completed."

I took advantage of the offer for new tyres via RAC with the discount. This made it a better offer than buying directly if i went to my usual garage. It was easy to book and choose my garage. One I hadn't used before.. fitter was great as was all the staff I came into contact on reception.
