Profile taken down? No real clue as to why?

I got scammed by a Spotify music promo site, Playlistbooker, I didnt do this intentionally, just pure ignorance on my part. I stopped using promo companies, as most are scams anyway. just received an email saying there's more fraudulent streams yet my Spotify analytics pages shows very few streams. they dont even bother to ask me, I was found guilty and deleted I dont know whats going on? my Songtradr page was just taken down. Now you have to pay fifty bucks a year as they force you to go pro, I dont create a big genre, Neo classical music is not top tier stuff, perhaps they just thought I was wasting space on their servers and not generating any money and used this as an excuse to bounce my off their site to make room for more profitable music. I made a few bucks years ago but since then Nothing. seems there are a lot of unhappy Songtradr people here on Trust pilot, guess its time to move on!

Not the same as it was, steer clear.

Used to actually make money off my songs, I was thrilled!!! Nowadays, I get no responses from the staff, distribution is dismal and the opportunities to send for sync are close to none. Definitely a shame because years ago this was a top notch website.

I need to check a couple of tv show syncs that you have neither reported to us nor paid any licensing monies due. Can you please provide a support email address from which we will receive a reply? Extremely Disappointing Service – Not Worth the Yearly Fee


I have been a member of Songtradr for some time, and unfortunately, the platform has gone from promising to completely unreliable. Previously, they allowed members to pay monthly, but they switched to a yearly-only subscription, claiming that big improvements were on the way. However, those improvements never came.

Songtradr was once known for its sync and monetization opportunities, but now, the sync side is virtually nonexistent. Instead of real placement opportunities, they rely on replacements in playlists, which provide little to no value for independent artists. As for monetization, many of the companies they claim to be connected with don’t seem to generate anything meaningful—very little money ever gets filtered through to artists.

If that weren’t bad enough, their distribution service has gone from bad to worse. They have repeatedly failed to release songs to the correct artist page, which is unacceptable for any distribution service. Even worse, they are incapable of fixing these mistakes in a reasonable timeframe, meaning artists lose crucial time for promotion and miss out on opportunities to pitch to major platforms like Spotify. For those who invest money in PR campaigns and advertising for their releases, these mistakes are financially devastating.

For a platform that now requires an upfront yearly payment, their service is simply not up to standard. If they cannot even handle the basics of music distribution, let alone provide real sync or monetization value, then they are doing artists a disservice.

I would strongly advise independent artists to avoid Songtradr and look for more reliable alternatives. It is unacceptable to demand a yearly fee while providing declining service and virtually no opportunities in return.

I am a Pro customer on Songtradr and…

I am a Pro customer on Songtradr and have been for a good few years. If you are looking for good customer service and quick responses to any questions it might be worth searching somewhere else. I email customer support and typically it takes 6 days to get a very minimal response. Overall very frustrating and unhelpful

I am now responding to Songtradr's response.
In their email to me on Nov 13th they wrote the following.

"As we have a small team managing thousands of user requests worldwide, we are unable to conduct research on individual accounts to track down codes. We kindly ask users to provide them to help make the process more efficient in completing tasks for you."

It seems odd that the resources of such a small team are then put to use answering complaints on TrustPilot. Plus the response on TrustPilot is far longer and more detailed than the responses I was sent as an email.

Maybe the owners of this company should put more resources into the customer service.

I have been with Songtradr as pro-…

I have been with Songtradr as pro- artist for years, i think from the beginning and they are always helpful and have a very responsive support team. Distribution is easy and they helped me re-release a song and keep the streams when changing a distibutor. I also like the streaming insights monthly and direct pay out, but would love to see more opportunities to licence my songs to movies & advertisements and such.

I use Songtradr daily. Sometimes some of the uploads takes longer than it should to load up but a simple message gets things sorted pretty quickly.
All in all a very useful platform for showcasing your material.

they are thieves ...they stole my money i had some money from spotify when i tried to redraw it they lied that i didnt provide some credible information and then they took down my tracks from all platforms can you imagine thieves armed robbers

Killed an free tier, not also that. Forcing royal consumer to move to other distros rather than remain

Killed an free tier, we expected the distributed music remains but they choose to remove it also, forcing us to upgrade their "Songtradr PRO" since not afforded for 40$/year per artist. Since they take an commission are not enough.

Songtradr choosen to killing their free tier as they advertised and reasons about the "last resort during pandemic", like if this are not free recently, why you say if this service is free?

We are don't like this and contacted it to reconsidering it back, they cannot. As well to forcing us to move on paid service like Distrokid. such a shameful move for songtradr. Previously they provided it for free, but now? shamelessly leaving their royal customers.

We introduced our Free (starter) Distribution subscription in April 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic threatened many artists’ livelihoods. That offering, however, was always meant to be a temporary solution. Unfortunately, due to inflation, the increasing costs of releasing music for our artists have left us with no choice but to re-evaluate our subscription tiers.

We have discontinued our free distribution offering and sent several communications regarding this. To assist with this transition, we offer a 40% discount to work with Distrokid instead or upgrade to a Pro account with us.
It is important to note that the majority of other distribution companies do not offer free distribution.

Although we attempted to provide notice months in advance to all free subscribers, we apologize if our communications were lost or not reviewed in time for the complete takedown of all free releases. We'll be available to help via Support if you have any questions. Thank you for your understanding and we hope you find a distributor that can satisfy your free distribution needs.

We introduced our Free (starter) Distribution subscription in April 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic threatened many artists’ livelihoods. Songtradr solve the problem quickly quick in responding…

Songtradr is very quick in responding back and problem solving. They are very helpful when I do not understand something. I am also happy with their guidance when I submit my music. Even when I make mistakes they correct me.
I just want them to be straight forward with payment and make it easier for us to receive our royalties. Especially for us beginners we lose hope if it takes us too long to get our money. Please dont take long to pay. Simply the payment method please.
