Shockingly bad from start to finish. Customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. Don’t respond to phone messages left or emails most of the time. She is just not interested in resolving my issues which began with delays as a result of the new owners ‘honouring’ existing orders. Understandable yes. But, and here’s the thing, You would expect them to deliver the right glass? You would expect them to deliver the fixings? You might even expect that the ‘stainless’ steel was stainless? Come on . Is this too much to expect? Apparently so. After complaining repeatedly about the pathetic service delays wrong spec glass and the rusting parts all I got in response was ‘oh we are just honouring the order placed on the original company, nothing to do with us so request compensation via your credit card company’ . What??? . Didn’t pay by credit card!! Then asked for the contact details of a director to escalate beyond the incompetent I’ve been dealing with . No response. So take my advice. Avoid SHS if you want any kind of basic stainless steel product that supposed to live up to the name. Maybe they should re name the company RHS ....Rusting Handrail Systems

Well what a journey, I ordered my Ballustrade in the summer of 2019. The sales team were amazing, couldn't do enough for me very helpful. However it wasn't all plain sailing. I paid half the cost on order and the full amount once the product had gone to manufacturer. This was over £5000. I paid for supply and fit. The company then went into administration and panic set in. However Jo Seabrook customer service assured me that the new company owners would honour my order I would receive my product. After numerous phone calls to Jo a few months went by but I did indeed receive my goods however not fitted. I have organised my own fitting and the Ballustrade looks awesome. The quality is excellent and I cannot fault the actual product. Jo was excellent and delivered what she said.
Fortunately I paid for the product with the credit card and so was able to claim back my losses.
Great product and any grievance was with the previous owners who I believe stole my money...

Very disappointing. We waited 10 months since initial down payment for our balcony to be made and erected. When they finally arrived to fit the balcony last week, they had taken the measurements inaccurately and it didn't fit. Did they call us to apologise?? NO. As usual, we've had to chase them.

SHS have worked with Streetly tennis club to provide a first rate glass balustrade at a really affordable price.
All the staff have worked hard during these difficult times to produce a superb glass balustrade which looks great on our new balcony.

We are happy with the work carried out by SHS.Once the completion date was finalised,the installation was efficient with no complications.We are delighted with the end result.

We can only echo what others are positively saying, a sticky start which was clearly due to the company having issues leading to being put into administration. But this company came good, were more than fair and we finally have a superb end product and wont hesitate to order again, as we enter phaze 2 of our project - the fitter Ben was superb as were Bev and Jo and others in customer support.

I looked for ages for balustrades for our patio and after seeing Adam at the Excel Exhibition we finally settled with SHS! And what service! From start to finish it was excellent! They advised us on what to have after we changed shape several times and this was no problem for them at all! Every step of the way was easy, and simple. We decided to fit them ourselves but SHS were behind us with support. Their after sales service is exceptional and I would recommend this company without doubt!

This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. They have failed to install the ballustrade and it’s been sat there for 6 months without any progress. I am sure they will blame it on the previous management but the actual workmanship has been shoddy from the start. Avoid

i looked at several options for my balustrade from different companies
all offered variations on what i wanted to achieve and to satisfy my wife
SHS went out of their way to change the design several times till WE got a solution we were content with
delivery was delayed by the virus but to my surprise arrived earlier than expected
the delivery was excellent with the 5 panes of glass at 26kg each carried to my house 40metres and 35 steps from the road with no objections
assembly went smoothly until i found a fitting kit was missing but after a phone call it arrived the following day by carrier
now complete it is everything we could wish for

We also got caught up in the folding of the company. We placed our order back in November with a pre Christmas "guarantee" and paid half in advance.
We went through months of uncertainty and frustration but in the end the new company delivered and we are very happy with our balustrades.
I am in no doubt that this is thanks to the efforts of Jo who was always honest, often brutally so. We needed this and made us at least feel like we could trust what we were being told. She kept pushing for this to happen and, with the big efforts from Dave and Nicky, never gave up.
If the new company can continue to operate as well as they did in completing our order then i think they need to be given a chance as the final product is great - they definitely need to hold on to Jo and her team though!

After reading their reviews i thought id give them the benefit of the doubt, having said that i still paid by credit card in order to cover myself..
This is something i should not have done as their reviews completely reflect their company and i am glad i paid by credit card..
I asked for a refund back in January and still to this date i have not had it, so i have now called my credit card company and they can deal with it..

Avoid like Covid-19

Avoid like the plague, nothing more than crooks!
We ordered a set of railings from this lot for a large build, Adam in the sales team were efficient, paid the same day deposit and nothing for 3 months just loads of hot air and excuses.
Joanne tried to help in customer service but nothing happened.
They finally said they would refund, did not, took them to small claims then issued a CCJ for the £2000 they owed and oh guess what they went bust and rolled overnight from SHS Balustrades it into this new company writing off all the "debt" they owed. Could not even be very creative with the new name!!
They are frankly criminals so please please do not spend a penny with this lot, use S3i instead as we did and they provide a top products.

First class company pulled all the stops out to get my balustrade it has now been fitted and looks fantastic thank you I would recommend this company for your balustrade needs well done

We were also caught up in the company’s change of management and were waiting for our balustrade for quite some time. Despite this, we finally got our order through and we couldn’t be more pleased with the end result. Jo from Customer Services was superb and was always ready to help even during their difficult time as a company. I believe this company is now up and running normally again so I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Special thanks to Jo who has been a super star trying to sort out some bits and pieces for our balustrade to work with our electric glass. The communication with Jo has been fantastic and she’s always been really helpful on the phone and ready to sort out any issues for us.

Fantastic team! Jo is a standout but everyone there has the same drive and passion to help you, care and deliver. If you read any poor write ups generally they were pre-ownership last year but I haven't had a problem. They don't lie, they tell the truth no matter what difficulty they had through the transfer of ownership and they won my trust entirely.

This has obviously been a tough period for the new owners. However, I have finally received and installed a beautiful glass balustrade to my garden decking. Ordered back in November 2019, my heart sank at the news of the companies demise and my order with it, I thought! I then received a letter informing me my order would be honoured by the new owners, and true to their word it has. Joanne Seabrook in Customer Services has been great, always taking my calls, keeping me informed, managing expectations, no BS. It has certainly been a nervous time waiting but well worth it.

After my earlier review I was also caught up in the SHS administration and assumed I would lose my deposit etc.

Hats off to them all for honouring the order and finally getting the delivery. Product is good and has been installed and looks fine.

Finally got my balustrades and glass. Obviously the company has been in mega trouble but I have to say that Jo in Customer Services has been great, keeping me informed and Gary has done a great job in getting the stuff to us. Considering the desperately awful situation the company has been in plus the utterly grim weather conditions, they have remained pleasant and approachable. Can’t wait till they are installed and we get some sun!!

Success. Job done. The bigger picture is it looks fantastic. A big project. 41m long of glass and steel on a composite deck.
Its taken 5 months from planning to fitting the balustrade. Shs have redeemed themselves. The boys Gavin and Ben have worked outside in the cold, wet and sleet for 4 days.
Its been a 2year journey from landslide to deck build and safety rail and glass system.
We lost 3 gardens to heavy rain and earthquake. We resolved the landslip, saved our houses, built a deck to replace lost ground and provided a safe edge. We lost gardens and woods but gained a view. Thanks to all who have helped us regain our safety.
