Horrendous customer service

Horrendous customer service. I called to cancel my subscription and had to talk to three different agents who told met they needed to transfer me to another department, only to be put back in the same queue. Finally I got someone who did it, but she seemed to want to direct me to do it online..

After cancelling, the e-mail said I still have access until the end of the billing cycle -- This was not true. It was removed immediately. I decided to ask the online chat agent, who told me that they likely put in a full cancellation, and that I would need to call customer service to regain access and make a payment.

Nobody wants to do their job. Do not give these people money. Use Equifax

Trans union credit sucks

Trans union credit sucks. They make many mistakes and want you to pay for credit monitoring in order to solve problems and get your credit score. At least with equifax, when you make a report they fix it.

Terrible. Technical friction, Slow, Bugs, Not user friendly, and Dark Patterns.

Only forced to use them cause my banks do.

-Website looks outdated and everything is slow and buggy, I click and 10-20s load.
-The same sign-up and continue button on 3 separate devices and different browsers won't work, then after several attempts miraculously it decides to work.
-Technical difficulties and password reset doesn't work cause doesn't recognize information on file with Email and SIN. I go to sign-up with same Email says it can't be used so have to use a different email.
-Their support line you will wait for hours and the audio is horrible or can't hear clearly what is said, the mobile chat with agent is easier faster, don't bother with their AI chat.
-I only needed my Consumer Disclosure (free option) but website feels more like a business trying to sell me their product rather than a credit reporting agency. They intentionally design website so it's easy to buy their service and in your face, but the free option is somewhat hidden, you can't just login like normal it's like 2 separate systems to navigate.
-Dark patterns are deceptive design tactics used on websites or apps to trick you into doing things you wouldn't otherwise do. Design creep is a phenomenon where digital experiences become increasingly cluttered, complex, or manipulative over time as companies incrementally add small features or hidden hurdles.

Why can't it work like Equifax which was a breeze and no problem and user friendly experience.
Anyway I got what I needed and can move on.

Just another company to Dislike and avoid... These selfish greedy companies shouldn't receive a dime of our money.

Enabling online scams

This company has an aggressive affiliate program which fosters an insane amount of online scams.

The scam:
1. people create false listings at cheap prices
2. scammer requests a credit check via transunion (sends affiliate link)
3. Transunion kicks back $20-$50 to the affiliate
4. Scammer goes ghost
5. Repeat

they dropped my score by over 40 points…

they dropped my score by over 40 points for no reason. Upon investigating it seems its because my mortgage was paid off. my score went down because i did the right thing and have no debt. my score went down....because of less debt. why is transunion even a company? what good is this for people or companies when its all false information?

It's unacceptable that such a company…

It's unacceptable that such a company could be so inefficient with making sure customers are doing great with the credit . When i looked out on X socials to see if others are going through same situation as mine, it was then I came across rocketskycredit who got all my inquiries removed permanently. This impacted my credit positively and I got approved for home loan refinancing.

TransUnion; What a JOKE

I received 1 year of TransUnion service at no charge due to a data breech at WestJet Airlines. I had no prior experiences with them. Upon setting up an account in October 2025 I viewed my history on file & was shocked to see significant incorrect or extremely outdated information pertaining to my financial history; current employer- almost 40 years outdated as 1 example!! As others have reported, to correct any errors with TransUnion is a feat!!! TRUELY PAINFUL! I’d since put the trial behind me when I received a monthly auto email to view my account. Out of boredom I logged in. Imagine my shock to see that my employer of 26 years read “new employer November 2025!” OMG! I had applied for a bank line of credit & someONE at TransUnion had obviously misinterpreted the reported credit check & changed my employment history EVEN THOUGH I’d spent over 2 hours, 1 MONTH PRIOR with a TransUnion representative somewhere in the Philippines (I believe?) at some call center & corrected my entire history! This Company should be shut down! They are being used to provide credit checks which impacts one’s ability to obtain credit & they themselves have zero oversight or accountability! Total sham! I will once again labor to correct this unauthorized incorrect change BUT the next time I apply for any credit I will be sure to state that if the Company uses TransUnion it’s unlikely the information provided is accurate.

Worst Company Service Experience Of My Life

I was told that I couldn't get a mortgage approval because TransUnion is showing an address/mortgage that I've never lived in nor owned. After bouncing around between 4 different agents, I was told they'll try to get back to me in 24 hours. They advised that disputes can be reviewed in 30 days. I advised I only have 1 week before I have to lift conditions on my house purchase... not an issue for TransUnion apparently. They blamed some bank that sent the information (a bank of which I've never worked with nor heard of).

I was then told to make an account to track updates, I did so, only to be charged 28.19 and then be told my account is "locked." I then contacted the company to request my account be unlocked, which started a circle of death where I was transferred between Transunion Canada and Transunion America 5 times, had to answer Identity Security Verification questions, confirm information, just to be told I need to call someone else and request something else. Finally I was told my account is suspended and I need to submit a bunch of documents to verify I exist. I am now apparently an employee for Transunion Canada AND Transunion America, for the monthly fee of $28 dollars. I've walked through the seven circles of hell, and lo, the deepest, darkest of them all is the one in which Transunion is king.

Works like a scam company

Works like a scam company. They charge without notice, putting you on a subscription. They make you jump through hoops to cancel. Their current tactic is to put on the most annoying music with high pitch whistling while you wait, and every 10 seconds you must press 1 to assure them you're still willing to wait or they hang up. Who can I report this company to in Canada?

I would provide 0 stars if that were possible. Call Centre staff is either poorly trained or not competent. It took more than 5 person hours to get my account unlocked. I had to call 8 times, each time getting different or conflicting information. A few of the authorization questions are either poorly worded, or agents are trained to deliberately distort questions to ensure a ‘failed’ authentication leaving an overpriced paid service as the only option. Disputing even minor information such as dates that have been incorrectly entered by Trans Union Staff themselves is difficult to correct.

Bunch of dirty scammers

Bunch of dirty scammers. Charged me 24.95$ without my consent. It is free to see my credit score, and if you call them back at 1-800-508-2597, they constantly spam you with a note requesting you to press 1 to stay in the line. Wasted 2 hours of my time. Absolute assholes.

Once I got there, some fool gave me a BS reason to get a verification code, then transferred me to the original number that I called. They are absolutely not helpful in giving me my money back but they did confirm that I did not need any verification code, so all of this is a waste of time. I was then redirected to a different number. The different number then told me that they can only give me a verification code but will need to transfer me to another department. again.

Running in circles, scamming me with BS reasons back and forth and not giving me my money back. absolute criminal

Transunion noticed a new debt and gave that information to credit karma but never reported I paid off a loan at the same time. It's a shame that companies of all kinds rely on data from this company and the other two that make up the big three.

This review is about Lilly a TransUnion agent right around 9:09 a.m. this morning. She was very hard to overstand her pronunciation may have been west indies or something like that I am not discriminating but she was asking security question she really tried to piss me off and get under my skin she refused to get her supervisor on the line and kept talking over me which was super f rude I have to restart my intentions for today she must have been some type of energy.vampire seeking to destroy my peace I hope she gets a discipline before her day is done! She did not resolve my issue and used system generated s questions verses the questions that was created for my account.
Which I found to be strange she claimed her ability to send me code via my phone number was unable to go thru at this time don’t believe her annoying as itch kept talking over me what a f mess I hope her boss sees this and I think she is a dumb itch!!!!!

Disgusting service by transunion

Disgusting service by transunion, they are keep mixing my information with someone else, and their customer service just keep hanging up the call o me, when i was talking . They are so stupid and uneducated people with ZERO knowledge. There should be another company used for credit reports in canada, transunion is worst
