Excellent Service once again from United Carpets Cardiff.
We visited the store earlier this year and purchased carpets for the whole of our house. Elton was so helpful giving advice on different carpets and underlay. As we were decorating each room prior to having the carpet laid, he agreed to store the carpet for us and release room by room as we completed the decorating. Elton then visited our home and took measurements for the carpets. We had the first carpet laid in the bedroom and were so pleased with it.
A few months later we contacted Elton to arrange a date in December for carpets to be fitted in the Lounge, Dining room and Hallway. They were fitted and we are so pleased, the carpets look and feel amazing. Special thanks to the carpet fitters, Matthew and Jamie who we will definitely ask for again to fit the remaining carpets. On the fitting day, we received a phone call to say what time they would be with me. Sure enough they arrived at the time agreed, they were cheerful, very professional and respected my home. They did a fantastic job laying the carpets, and our house now feels like a home. We look forward to having the remaining carpets fitted in a few months time. Thank you Elton, Mathew and Jamie.

Was in a panic just before Christmas. Called the shop and told to come to the showroom with some measurements and photo's of the area I wanted Carpeting. The experience in the shop was great. The staff member was so patient, but also very helpful. I eventually found a carpet that I liked, and the total cost was below what I was expecting which was great. It was explained clearly to me that they do not employ fitters and why and that it was my responsibility to source one. However at my request they could help source one (they have a list of fitters numbers which obviously I do not). I picked a name from their list and the shop called them for me there and then. The fitter asked if the area was ready to go, I told him I would need an hour to get it ready. He said he would pick up the carpet later that day and fit it for me for the price the shop had quoted. The shop then deducted the amount for the fitting off my total for me to use to pay the fitter directly ( I think that's how the free fitting works, they give you a total cost, work out how much a fitter will charge then deduct it frim the total cost, so no extra chrges on top fir fitting). 3 hours later my carpet had been installed, the fitters were quick, efficient and polite and did a great job. The rubbish ( offcuts) was all bagged but I had to dispose of it. The fitter explained that it was my 'rubbish' and that if they took the rubbish away they would have a van full of black bags at the end of everyday, they would need a waste carriers license, they would have to PAY to dispose of it, which in turn would mean that I would have to pay them a lit more. But it is free for me to go to the tip. I fully understood.
The overall experience from 1st contact to final product being installed ( even though they are not Uniteds own fitters) was amazing. I was so stressed at the beggining of the day and by the end of the day I had a big smile. Thank you United Carpets Cardiff. I will be coming back soon.
PS I highly reccomend the Diamond underlay. Wow, how good it feels to walk on compared to my other carpet.

Poor fitting from fitter. Lino in bathroom started lifting only 2 weeks later. Now has air bubble and lifting next to bath. When I asked at the time, the guy said it’s supposed to be like that. All carpet grippers were cut and left all over the floor, screws and staples were also left on the carpet when they were done, and got caught up in hoover. Grippers and door hinges were left all over the place and on windowsills, which scratched all the paint and gloss. The man was quite rude, would not recommend the fitters at all that the shop sourced and would strongly advise you find someone yourself, but I guess that’s why you have to pay them directly on the day and not the shop.
Carpet itself is nice.

I have known the company for quite a while, so when I needed a new stair and landing carpet, I decided to pop in. I gave them an idea of what I was looking for and the sales staff was so helpful. Surveyor came out to confirm measurements and placed the order straightaway.
I didn't need to call anywhere else, United carpets were very helpful and obliging. Would recommend them, the service was first class .

Great service and lovely carpets at very good price

Very good selection of carpets, underlays and accessories with sound advice from the sales team. The estimating process was accurate with the final pricing transparent-no hidden extras tagged on.
My only negative was the tidying up after the fitters had done their job. 2 trips to the skip, 2 hours of tidying up after them so far, with 2 doors to trim and re-hang yet to do.

We came into the shop to order some carpet for our staircase and landing. We showed them an accurate drawing and photographs so there was no misunderstanding of information. One of the staff members priced up the carpet and fitting. On the day of the fit the carpet fitter was extremely rude and said that he’d expected the carpet to have been taken up for him. The staff member at the shop didn’t ask me and admitted after a phone call that he didn’t ask me to take anything up and the fitter asked for £100 more as he had to strip the carpet and lay one more extra tread on the bottom. His aggressive attitude and general rudeness would have been enough for us to turn him away but by then he’d already ripped off the third step carpet so we were in a no-win situation. Following a complaint email to the store, the branch manager took over two weeks to reply and then disclaimed any connection with the fitters and said that they were all self-employed and the bottom line was that it was nothing to do with them. Having been past customers, we were expecting a level of service a little bit better than what we received. For someone to come in your home and rant and rave aggressively it’s just not acceptable. Just imagine if we were elderly or vulnerable or simply couldn’t afford the additional amount? We will not be using United carpets again.

Due to the state of our carpets we needed recarpeting urgently when we moved into our house and united Cardiff came were amazing - they came to measure up at short notice and provided samples based on requirements we gave, they spent time consulting with us on what the best options/solution was, and the fitters did a fantastic job. We are very grateful for the special effort and thank you for the great service.
