Carpets are great but the fitters were miserable and left my house in a right mess! Scrapped all the skirting boards and walls nearly complained!

Very good service all round.
Staff member at store very helpful, sold me exactly what I needed no fluff. Fitter arrived on time, very pleasant, very pleased with outcome and nearly half the price of nearest competitor. Definitely recommend.

It was not delivered and fitted before…
It was not delivered and fitted before Christmas as promised when we ordered in November. I had to chase for updates myself. When it did arrive they sent the wrong carpet out on the van and the fitter fitted the wrong carpet so had to come back again! Totally spoiled the overall experience, of purchasing a top end product! :-(

The fitters were horrible
The fitters were horrible, they did a terrible job I can’t walk upy stairs without been upset in how bad it looks and they damaged the walls and the skirting in my daughters bedroom and all they cared about was heading to weatherspoons for a pint before their next job

Really helpful and friendly in the shop, able to advise me in the best options and no pressure sales tactics used. Fitter was friendly and polite, on time and did a good job. Will be back when I can afford the halls/stairs doing and taking them up on their measuring service due to the layout. Highly recommend.

Great shop, awful fitter.
I’ve bought from here on two separate occasions now and the guys in the shop are fantastic. They gave me some great advice about what to go for and were really friendly and helpful. However, I have had the same fitter both times and he is absolutely awful. The first time was during Covid and he refused to wear a mask, despite this being the law at the time, and was very aggressive when questioned on it. We had vinyl floor put in and the floorboards underneath were not fixed down properly and still squeak to this day. Recently I had the stair carpets replaced. When he called up to arrange a time I noted that I had a work meeting during the time slot he was coming and and so if he was able to come earlier in the slot rather than later that would be helpful, to which he stroppily told me he had 20 other jobs to do that day as well and he would come when he could come. Apparently I was supposed to remove the old carpet before the fitters arrived but nobody had mentioned this to me. The fitter was very rude and told me that there were signs all over the shop so it was my fault because I shouldn’t have needed to be told as I should have noticed them. When I called the shop later they apologised and said I should have been told. He went ahead and removed the carpet but when he left the whole area looked like a bombsite. He made no attempt to sweep up any of the mess and the tool he had used to fix the edges of the carpet in place had been used so aggressively he gouged marks into the woodwork.
It’s such a shame that the fitter was really so awful because it’s a lovely carpet and everyone else was so nice but after two such negative experiences with this person I won’t be using the shop again.

I have been in contact with the Wakefield store who has investigated this further. Whilst we cannot always accommodate changing fitting times on the agreed fitting date, on this occasion we were able to do that and the fitter arrived earlier to fit into your schedule.
In regards to your current carpet being removed, we apologise for this not being explained to you in-store, however the fitter did then take up your carpet free of charge during your appointment. Unfortunately, we do not remove carpet off-cuts from your home as part of our fitting service.

Carpet that we ordered we are very happy with but when fitters came 2 weeks later we had moved everything thing out of room I was there all the time. They still cracked one door and sprained 3 hinges on another door so on top of the £60 fitting charge I had to replace 1 door and 3 hinges and all I got from United carpets was we are sorry about that

Love our new carpet...friendly staff in the shop we're very helpful...and super speedy fitting...within a few days of purchase...would highly recommend for reasonably priced, good quality carpets
