The trip to the Western Cape was so much more than we expected.
Our guide ensured our trip went smoothly and was so friendly.
The company were quick to respond to questions and helped us out when things didn't always go to plan.
Our only issue was that they booked all the accommodation in a different name and didn't tell us. So after an 11.5hr flight to be greeted by the hotel and told that we not expected was not ideal.
However this was quickly resolved by a telephone call to the company director who couldn't apologize enough.
Originally the trip had 6 people going but unfortunately 4 people dropped out leaving just the 2 of us. This did not cause any problems for the company and we ended up on our private tour.
The trip was so interesting with such diversity from a city break to a wine tasting experience and seeing animals in so many different environments.
The phrase a holiday of a lifetime couldn't be more accurate.

I cannot recommend the Untravelled Paths and the Ice Hotel Experience highly enough, the trip was excellent from start to finish. The Ice Hotel was a once in a lifetime experience. Visits to Brasow town Peles and Bran castles broadened our experience of Romania. My final words have to go to Marius our brilliant guide - what a star! Marius gave us a fascinating insight into Romanian history and culture. He was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and had a great sense of humour which really made the trip for all of us. Thank you!

We had a fantastic holiday in Romania. Everything was very well organised, good central hotels, and we liked that there were only 13 of us in the group which meant we could all get to know each other and share the experience. George our guide was very knowledgeable and was always available to us day or night, giving us his number when we stayed in the Ice Hotel in case we had any issues during the night. He let us use his room in the chalet the next morning to shower and change. The whole experience of staying in the Ice Hotel, visiting the castles and exploring Budapest was amazing, the scenery stunning and we would have no problem recommending Untravelled Paths.

From the moment I first contacted Untravelled Paths they were very professional and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. Our guide was outstanding in all areas, very informative, friendly and always on hand to help.

After a few hiccups initially with emails, not receiving our itinerary, once we informed them it was quickly resolved
Aside from that the trip was amazing made so much better having Marius to guide us through it. From start to finish he was always attentive, very respectful, friendly, informative and he obviously is very proud of his country as he should be as the cities and areas we visited were beautiful. The mountain views were truly spectacular and the ice hotel was a once in a lifetime experience.
We always felt safe on the journeys inbetween on the snowy and icy roads in the hands of our friendly and capable driver, (sorry we forgot his name), but very punctual and polite.
As a host and guide Marius truly was the complete package, friendly, positive, inclusive, respectful, fun, informative and very knowledgeable, either addressing the group or on an individual basis, you felt he cared that you had the best experience and was a pleasure to be around, even jumping big queues to get me a hot chocolate!!
A truly enjoyable and memorable experience and I would recommend this trip to all,

Just returned from the ‘Ice Hotel Experience’ trip with Untravelled Paths. The whole trip form booking and pre-departure information, hotels, transfers, coach tour and sightseeing with guides was excellent. We were lucky enough to have Marius as our Tour Guide for the trip…he made sure things ran smoothly and was very conscientious in insuring everyone got the most out of the trip. Had the right balance of passing on historical and modern facts about Romania and the sights we visited along with a great ‘English’ sense of humour….and made sure the afternoon/evening at the Ice Hotel will be a long lasting memory…thank you.

Well organised, packed with things to see and do but balanced well with some free time

Our tour guide Marius really makes the trip. Lovely guy, full of interesting info, friendly and fun but respectful and polite.

Just visited the ice Hotel in Romania. Our guide George was excellent,very knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately the weather up the mountain was thick fog so didn't see the beautiful views but still had an amazing experience in the Ice Hotel itself,with the dining experience and ice bar a must.
Peles Castle,Brasov and Bran Castle all enjoyable and George gave us guided tours round all. Everyone got on so well and I really enjoyed the whole experience. No more cherry brandies though.

We had the best trip- we loved Romania and our guide Marius was exceptional. The hotels were brilliant especially the Ice Hotel. We travelled all over with Marius and he was so knowledgeable, we really feel like we saw a lot of the country and learnt a lot in 4 days. 10/10

Absolutely loved our time in Romania with Marius. He was extremely informative and friendly. The tour itself covered an impressive amount of the area including Sibiu, Peles castle, Bran castle, Brasov, and Bucharest. We weren’t rushed and spent the right amount of time at each location. The Christmas markets were great. We felt safe throughout and would absolutely recommend.

We loved every minute of the ice hotel experience. Marius made sure everything ran smoothly and was really helpful. Many wonderful memories for me and my daughter.

My daughter and I went on the Iberian Lynx holiday with Untravelled Paths and we had a very good time.
Marius was an excellent host and worked hard to ensure everyone had a good experience, the accommodation in the NationalPark was very comfortable and the guide in the park, Mercedes was very helpful and knowledgeable. It helped that we were very lucky with our sighting

Well organised trip with scope to add days at either end. Great to see Iberian lynx and we really enjoyed Seville. Our guide Marius was great.

My wife and I visited Romania with untravelled paths between Christmas an new year. we had a great time visiting bran castle, brasov and the Ice Hotel. The trip was enhanced by our guide Marius who was great fun, full of information and the ideal host.

Another wonderful mini break with UTP ( my 5th)
We both loved Seville, such a beautiful city and then on to the Sierra Natural Park to look for the elusive Iberian Lynx. With the help of our informative wildlife guide Mercedes and our UTP guide Marius , we were fortunate enough to have several sightings. Loved the tranquility of the park and the friendly hosts at our accommodation. Both the hotel in Seville and our guest house in the park were perfect. Just wish we had booked a few more days. Have always enjoyed our holidays with UTP and never hesitate to recommend them. Marius is a great guide, who puts everyone at ease and is always so helpful and friendly.
Already looking forward to Puglia in May!

We were sooooo pleased with Untravelled Paths and our guide Marius. They were timely, responsive, watchful, extremely flexible in accommodating modifications desired and shepherded our experience from trip inquiry until we returned home. A+ folks.
