Don't buy a Ford Transit
I bought a 5 year old Ford Transit custom van from Vospers for £21000, it was 5 years old and had done 60000 miles, There was an issue with a pipe in the turbo when I bought it and it had to go back for repairs. I had the vehicle for 14 months and had done 10000 miles when the turbo disintegrated and blew up the engine. Vospers and Ford said this was expected with a vehicle of that age and mileage which I find incredible. I am now left with a £12.500 repair bill or a van I cannot afford to replace.

Alex at Vospers, St Austell was so helpful when buying my Mini Clubman. He made the whole expeience a pleasure and helped me set up my phone in the car and go over the basic functions slowly and clearly. I would have given 5 stars but I did have to chase up a response to an email.

I had a fantastic experience with the team at Vospers Exeter purchasing a new automatic Ford Tourneo Courier.
Exeter coordinated with Barnstaple well to allow for the home delivery to be as smooth as possible, making the whole process easier and trouble free. Especially to Marshall who went above and beyond by taking time out of his own day to personally show me how to operate the new vehicle.
I truly appreciate the extra effort provided and the overall excellent customer service provided by Exeter and Barnstaple!

Absolutely disgusted
Over the years my experience with Vospers’s have been brilliant until recently last year I financed a 2008 1.6 diesel unknown to me till i started to drive it it had problems.
Air con didn’t work both front shock absorbers also needed top mount bearings and cups both lower suspension arms were worn N/S/F anti roll bar link worn also and wheel alignment which totalled £2,256.38.
The staff took it to warranty who refused point blank to pay up until I took things further with the finance company.
A week later after the car was fixed one of the top mount bearing had failed and now the car was pouring exhaust gasses into the cabin every time i tried to demist the windscreen which felt like opening the door to a gas chamber. I then took to my finance company again to complain where they said due to the failed new part I would have grounds to reject the car and was told not to drive it as they deemed it as dangerous to drive.
After countless emails from the finance company to get the car rejected 2 and a half months later the car was not rejected through an IVIS inspection was conducted that completely missed the failed suspension part but then went into detail about how bad the condition of the exhaust was and the report said that the car was of satisfactory quality at the point of sale but as I’ve described above the car clearly was not.
The car is currently sat waiting for parts again due to the warranty point blank refusing to pay out.
This car and the service I’ve received has cost me financially due to not being able to work shifts for the best part of 3 Months I’m beyond infuriated at this point and absolutely disgusted

Have bought a new E transit custom van , John May at Truro van center was very helpful in helping me understand how to set it up , even though I didn't buy it from vospers Truro.

Very knowledgeable about the vehicles available and clearly passionate about cars.

Unfortunately I had a breakdown in my Fiat 500 recently and when contacting Vospers in Exeter to seek advice I had truly excellent support from a young lady called Isobelle.
My car had to be towed from Taunton to Exeter for the repair. As soon as the car arrived Isobelle called me to say it had arrived safely and explained exactly what would happen. At all times she kept me fully informed of the quote and timing. She also managed to arrange the repair much quicker than we had originally thought. Overall I was most impressed with her knowledge and polite cheerful manner. She could not have been more helpful. In my view Isobelle is a real asset to the Vosper's Team. A huge thank you to Isobelle and Fiat.

My Vauxhall vivaro went into limp mode…
My Vauxhall vivaro went into limp mode again. Vospers unfortunately is the main dealer. The 1st time it happened, at 8000 miles , I was informed it needed an oil change. As the main dealer, they have the software to reset the vehicle after the oil and filter change was carried out. A charge of £175 was made.Fair enough I was informed I wouldn’t need another oil change until it’s due a service at 20,000 miles or 2 years.
15000 miles. Vans in limp mode again, another oil and filter change is required. This time the charge is £406. Trading standards are now involved.
Bought a Mazda CX-30 from Vospers…
Bought a Mazda CX-30 from Vospers Exeter 2 weeks ago. Russell Davis was excellent and we were very impressed - his advice was very helpful and he really helped in making the right decision for us (rather than just a quick sale). The sales process was very smooth and efficient - would highly recommend.

A company that listens to you…
We visited Vospers as we were intending to change our Ford Fiesta for a newer model. We were made welcome by their sales staff, especially Mike Jones who discussed what we were looking for and were good at listening. In the end we decided to buy a newish Puma. There was no pressure selling, but a genuine interest to provide for our needs, and had no problem in bring the car we wanted over from Plymouth.

ECU or not ECU, that is the question!
On 24th Nov my car breaks down in car park 300 meters away from Fiat dealership. Walked over to ask for assistance and was told to get breakdown to bring it over.
Got to garage, told rather curtly "probably wont get to it until 8th Dec at earliest" told will call me by Wednesday. No call received.
Tried calling but no reply. Tried calling Thursday. No answer.
Got my sister to go to Fiat Fri 28th. Apparently had done the diagnostic on Thursday, but forgot to call me. It needed a new part, an ECU, which they would order and would be in Tuesday/Wed. Car would be done by Friday 5th December.
Tuesday 2nd Dec.No part had come in.No courtesy car available. Will keep in touch. Wed 3rd - No part arrived
Thur 4th - No call
Fri 5th - Still no part. Again asked for courtesy car but was told nothing available that day, but one would be available Saturday 6th morning. I was told by Lauren to go to the dealership with my driving licence.
Saturday got to Fiat, told no car booked for me. Eventually when I started to get very upset, and explained I worked full time in a school, had grandchildren to pick up and things to do as it was literally a couple of weeks until xmas and needed a car, one was eventually found. The part took forever to come in with little to no contact from Fiat. I was the one always trying to call during lunch break.
I had the car until Wed 17th December when I eventually got a call saying it should be ready to pick up later that day.
Picked up the car at 4pm and drove home. Thursday 18th December morning 7.30am start car and the exact warning lights are back on. Drove to Fiat as soon as opened and had to leave the car. Paris arranged a taxi to take me to work, which I was late for.
Got my car back later that afternoon. Cost £739.43
Customer service was totally lacking and at times quite rude by Lauren. Paris was always pleasant when I spoke with her but overall the lack of contact, updates and information regarding my vehicle was totally unacceptable.
Friday 23rd Jan 2026, just 1 month later, the warning lights return. Dropped the car to the garage, booked in today 26th Jan. Waited all day but no call. After work went to garage to be told they were looking at it now, 4pm. Was then told its the battery and I need a new one £380 inc fitting!! Would not be able to do it till Wednesday.!!When I said its the exact same warning lights when I first brought it inback in December and the battery was never mentioned only the ECU. He then said that can happen. So if thats the case why was the battery not mentioned at the first visit and replaced first?? No answer.
Decided to go to Halfords who fitted a new battery straight away for £190.
Now I'm wondering if it was only ever the battery!!! Will never trust them again.
