We have been coming to this restaurant…
We have been coming to this restaurant every weekend for over 10 years. It has always been our favourite place to enjoy sushi as a family, so today’s experience was incredibly upsetting.
I visited with my two children, aged 11 and 16. As it was a very hot day, I politely asked for some water as soon as we sat down. The waiter, appeared annoyed by this simple request and aggressively slammed a glass bottle of water onto our table. The noise and force were so unexpected that both my 11-year-old and I jumped in shock. My child was visibly frightened.
I calmly asked him, “Are you OK?” He replied, “Yes,” rolled his eyes at me, and walked away with a rude attitude.
When he eventually took our order, we asked for freshly made California rolls and sushi. He later returned and questioned why we weren’t taking food from the conveyor belt. I politely explained that we have always preferred freshly prepared sushi and that this has never been an issue during the many years we have been visiting.
Instead of simply accepting our order, he called over the chef,who also questioned our choice. Even after explaining our preference again, I was spoken to in a condescending and disrespectful manner. When I asked whether ordering freshly made sushi was a problem, I was made to feel as though I had done something wrong.
By that point, both of my children were extremely upset and uncomfortable watching the way I was being treated. What should have been our usual enjoyable family lunch turned into an embarrassing and distressing experience. We felt so unwelcome that we left.
After more than 10 years of loyal custom, I never imagined we would be treated this way. The behaviour of both the waiter and the chef completely ruined our day and what has always been our favourite family tradition. My children were upset for the rest of the day, and our weekend was spoiled because of how we were made to feel.
We won’t be returning unless this matter is taken seriously. I hope management investigates what happened and ensures no other family is treated this way.

Horrible Experience/Menu gutted and Charged more
Visited the Ashford Branch 25/06/26 - we always visit Yo Sushi for mine or my partner's birthdays as we really loved the food and made it a tradition...
No more... We found by the end of the visit the Ashford branch had titled it's menu as discounted? So we couldn't use our bluelight discount. Discounted? The menu was maller, the yellow plates were removed and everything else bumped up in price, we usually spend £80 before discount but instead spent £95 without discount for way less food!
We left still hungry but had to put a stop to it for rising costs and the fact children were spitting food and drink on the belt across from us, rancid! My partner is now in tears as she thinks she's ruined my birthday meal when in truth this experience that wasn't out fault has.
You can't rug pull a menu, tell me it's cheaper but charge me more money for less food! So like that, we're done with this brand, horrible experience and I feel physically sick when those kids spat all over the food you allowed to continue going around.

cold, premade, disgusting
Went to the brand inside selfridges at Birmingham. Always enjoyed yo sushi in the past but unfortunately all the rolls are now pre-made and chilled. I ordered a futomaki prawn sushi which was cold and inedible. We requested one sushi with no Avocado due to allergies and were forced to order 2 portions as it isn’t worth making specifically for us. I expected a restaurant called “yo sushi” to make food to order not provide a bunch of premade crap. Better off going to a supermarket. Won’t be returning.
Service was great though, shame the food lets them down.

Goodbye YO Sushi
Honestly, we go here a lot. It's expensive for what you get and it doesn't seem the highest quality produce, but I do like the Korean chicken. But the main reason I go is because I have an autistic daughter who likes sushi, to sit in the same spot and needs a booth because people panick her, and they have booths. So we end up in here about one a week spending between £20 - £40, or around £1500 over the year. Today we went in and it was mostly empty, almost all booths were available. We asked for a booth and the waitress said 'no', because the booths seat 4 and we were a 2. I looked around the empty restaurant and then at my daughter who shook her head and we left. We went to Wagamamas across the way. They gave us a booth, my daughter loved the food and it's her new weekly restaurant so I guess - good bye YO Sushi.

Keep well away from their totally disgusting pre-made rolls sold in Tesco. I've never eaten such dreadful, soggy rubbish in all my life.
lovey tasty fresh sushi
Picked up the deal on Wednesday 18rth March from Yo Sushi Express Baguley. Good variety, super tasty freshly made sushi and efficient lovely girl provided service with a smile, what else can you wish for? Will use again and highly recommend.
The rice tasted like plastic
The rice tasted like plastic. Unfortunately everything tasted bad, including my son’s simple rice rolls. We had such high hopes for the katsu curry and it was powdery and unappetizing. So sorry I wanted to enjoy it so much 😭

The sushi was too wet with little taste and my fried chicken portion was so small, the only thing that was good was the beer because it was made elsewhere.

Was at Yo sushi for my sons birthday. Got his bento box didn't get mine for half an hour after asking. Then waited for the rest of the food for another 45m while everyone after us getting it. Asked again as we were so hungry by that time. The staff said I'll check. She gets back and says we don't have your order. I said I already asked 2 times. She goes check again and says the chef is very busy so you have to wait for another 45m probably. We just walked out as no apology. It was the worst place I have been as the staff never check. Still took the payments. Wow what a service!!!! First class

YO Sushi firecracker chicken poke bowl
Poor quality poke bowl - tons of rice, disappointingly sparse chicken and vegetables. Really the worst I have had from anywhere. When heated up it creates quite a stodgy mess.
Poke bowls should be bang full of delicious fresh veg, not nearly all rice. Aldi poke bowls are far superior and much cheaper. I wont be bothering with the YO sushi poke bowl again.
