Very Disappointing and dirty
Saddened to say Braehead Glasgow Yo Sushi has lost its status as a great place to eat. The service is not great, under staffed and just not good.
The food is not fresh as it used to be I ordered Teriyaki Beef this was crunchy cardboard, soaked it sweet sickly sauce to add flavour, with bits of deep fried batter from something else. No veg as stated on menu and sticky dry rice. Food very disappointing definitely not a real sushi place. Salmon and avo roll was not even rolled nice or made like it should be.
Hygiene omg !!! This is the worst no chefs cleaning as they go, salmon bits lying all over the work stations, absolutely dirty counter where you eat. Thick greasy ingrained dirt in corners and soya sauce bottles full of greasy stains and finger marks not very clean. The place was grotty tbh.
I am afraid to say wont go back and on top of that over priced.
Expensive, not fresh and doesn't work.
There was an offer on at my local Hull Tesco Extra for various sized dishes all for £20. However non of the packaging names corresponded with the deal. For instance the deal said "any combo box" and "any side". Nothing had the words combo box or side written on them. Nobody was available to help. It's quite possible I got all the items to make up the deal but because they had 50p knocked off here and £1 knocked off there I think I ended up paying more for limited dated stock. I spent £65 for 4 people. Instructions when I got home were poor "place on a container"?? and sometimes had stickers over them which meant you couldn't read them at all and they tore if you tried to ease them off. You had to fiddle about with multiple microwavable dishes as non of the katsu dishes could be heated in their own containers. The katsu dishes were basically three quarters of a sliced up chicken burger on top of some very dry rice and a very basic and overly spiced sauce. There were no descriptions as to how spicy the dishes were so unfortunately the katsu and kfc sauce (whatever that is) dishes were too spicy for my boys. Sushi rolls were really dry and flavourless and crumbled to bits. No accompanying soy sauce, wasabi paste or pickled ginger. Honestly, for £65 I can get miles better from my local sushi takeaway. This was absolute garbage. And yes I've ticked the box to let Yo Sushi see this review.

Disgusting food and I love sushi and it’s horrid would not recommend

We bought a salmon selects small platter £7.95 from Tesco's in Bangor North Wales. It was tasteless. Salmon slimy. Will not try again and will buy the off the shelf sushi from Sainsbury's/Lidl which at least comes with all the extras - soy, wasabi, ginger for half the price.
Itsu sushi better and cheaper
The last few times I had yo sushi salmon nigiri iv been disappointed. The salmon slices have gone smaller. I find bones still in them. Very expensive compared to itsu sushi.
Not great
Not great, bland food not much flavour the rice could have been loaded as bullets...
Not good won't return
lack of customer service
To be honest its only the food that warrants stars which was generally very good. I would avoid the fried chicken as quite frankly its just chicken Nuggets with no flavour or seasoning.
I visited the Cheshire Oaks branch and found the automatic service charge addition an insult given i had to ask a disinterested employee several times for a menu. He then appeared more interested in his IPad standing away in a corner than in any attempt at customer service. Ive been to other branches and never experienced this before. So as for a service charge i would not mind if i received any service. Just as well it was not my first time visiting s it would put me off the chain.

Service was so poor!

Extremely rude waitress at the yo sushi Norwich branch. We were regular customers. There is a flat adult rate and child rate for the “bottomless belt”. We were charged £25 extra because my son tried a couple of dishes and didn’t finish them because they weren’t to his taste. Utterly disgusting attitude and I can understand why their unanimous reviews are so poor!

Wonderful service by Sara ( Westfield Stratford yesterday)
Hi I as at Westfield Stratford yesterday and it was my daughters birthday and was very busy and yet I still received amazing service from Sara our waitress , highly recommend.

Ate at the Bromley restaurant and was very disappointed. The chicken was of poor quality with gristle and fat in. I complained about it and the manager just told me that no one else had complained. Poor experience all round. I would NOT recommend it!
Don’t bother
Don’t bother. We ordered from here on Uber Eats. Katsu curry came with next to no curry sauce. Cucumber maki and gyozas came with no dip at all and no soy sauce. Hoisin “duck” yakisoba came without any hoisin “duck” so was just plain noodles. Whole meal was ruined, bone dry and flavourless. £32 down the drain. Uber eats didn’t wanna know. Avoid. I’ve contacted my bank for a refund as this is daylight robbery.

Ordered sushi which cost me about 18 quid when my food arrived I got something completely different to what I have ordered. They gave me katsu curry and rice and some dry chicken with bread.

The prices are EXTORTIONATE
I went to YO! Sushi today in Watford with my husband. We used to be very loyal customers, but haven't been to YO! since the pandemic. We were absolutely disgusted by the prices - they were extortionate! The small plates now range from around £5 to nearly £10 each! You get absolutely tiny portions, and the food is of average quality. It cost us almost £90 for two large beef teriyaki bowls & 4 small plates. We will never go to YO! Sushi again - it's an absolute rip off! We are really disappointed as were very loyal customers before covid, and had planned a few dates here in the coming months.
Yo is disrespectful and treats their customers like fools
I recently visited Yo! Sushi at Meadowhall Shopping Centre with my son, eager to try it for the first time based on a recommendation from my partner. While the food quality and initial service were good, my experience was completely overshadowed by a shocking discovery that revealed a troubling and disrespectful business practice.
At the end of the meal, we asked to pay the total amount. The waiter calculated the amount due, applied a birthday voucher we provided, and gave us the final figure. However, before leaving, we requested to see the bill itself—and that’s when we noticed a hidden 7.5% service charge had been added without our knowledge or consent.
This practice is appalling. When dining at a restaurant, customers expect to pay the prices displayed on the menu, inclusive of great service. To sneak in an additional charge without informing the customer is unacceptable, and it is theft! There was no mention of this service charge on the menu, nor did the staff inform us at any point during our visit. It felt intentionally deceptive, as though Yo! Sushi is trying to take advantage of customers who don’t carefully inspect their receipts.
Following my complaint, I received a refund for the exact service charge. However, the explanation provided by Yo! Sushi was wholly inadequate. They claimed that their system “automatically” adds the 7.5% charge and that staff “forgot” to remove it. This isn’t an accidental error—it’s a deliberate policy.
Why is Yo! Sushi adding a 7.5% service charge without asking customers? Great service should be part of the experience—it’s what diners expect when they pay menu prices. Conversely, if the service had been poor, would the bill be reduced by 7.5%? Somehow, I doubt it.
If Yo! Sushi genuinely believes their staff deserve higher pay, they should increase wages and adjust menu prices to reflect this. Instead, they shift this cost onto customers without transparency, exploiting their goodwill. This approach is not only unethical but also deeply disrespectful to those who choose to dine with them.
Until Yo! Sushi takes action to eliminate this malpractice and commits to treating their customers fairly, I strongly encourage others to stay away. There are countless other restaurants that deliver great food and great service without resorting to hidden charges or taking their customers for granted.
Save your money, your time, and your trust—support restaurants that value their patrons and operate with integrity.
Rethink closure please!
After 15 years of YO!Sushi and after having fixed the fridges, today is the last day that the St Pancras branch is open. I am not sure why this is a good decision as there's regular footfall in a busy station, the staff are helpful and kind and the sushi's good, rethink this closure please!
