Mother’s Day Disappointment

Very disappointed with the flowers that were delivered to my mum on Mother’s Day. As I couldn’t physically be with her, it was incredibly important that the flowers conveyed just how much she means to me.
Unfortunately the flowers that were delivered didn’t last more than a few days (even my brother’s garage forecourt flowers were still going strong more than a week later!).
When I sent a note with photo via the so-called “Happiness Guarantee” that states my complaint would be reviewed within 24-48 hours, I’ve yet to hear anything. Not even an acknowledgment of the complaint.
I’m very disappointed and quite upset that on my Mum’s special day, she was sent flowers that were already starting to wither.

Why started as a 2 star review, I am pleased to upgrade to 4 stars. This is primarily down to the excellent customer service I received from Max who, upon seeing my initial review, immediately swung into action with a full refund.

Excellent design, plan & execution

From my very first call with Avinash, I knew I was in good hands. I’m not a natural when it comes to design, but I do know what I like—and Avinash made the whole process of understanding my preferences (including my foible about symmetry!) both fun and reassuring. I was provided with samples of tiles, unit finishes, and even a CAD design that gave me a clear picture of how the bathroom would look once completed.

The recommended installers, BT Projects, were equally impressive. They were professional, genuinely cared about the quality of their work, and treated my home with respect. Every day they left the space clean and tidy, and their attention to detail went above and beyond my expectations.

I couldn’t be happier with my new bathroom, and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Foam & Bubbles to anyone looking for a seamless, high-quality experience.

Don't hold your breath

I wouldn’t go so far as to not recommend a Cocoon sofa bed. It is comfortable and looks good.
They lost three stars due to their pitiful service which consisted mainly of broken promises and delayed delivery.
I ordered a sofa 17th May so my planned visitors arriving 10th July would have somewhere comfortable to sleep. This, I thought, would give adequate time according to Cocoon’s 28 working day delivery plus a few days’ contingency (I also mentioned it in the order as they advised).
My visitors came and went.
The first attempted delivery of the sofa bed was on 26th July (van broke down), followed by another attempted delivery on 2nd August, this time the sofa bed arrived damaged and had to be returned.
I finally received the sofa bed on 18th October (111 working days for those counting) - a whole 5 months after ordering and way beyond the initial estimated delivery of 18th June, then 8th July, then 18th July etc. etc…..
Yes – Cocoon repaid me £75 as I had to buy an air bed for my guests, but this was only after they wanted me to pay £148 for the privilege of them loaning me a sofa bed. A sofa bed I wouldn’t have needed if they had honoured their original delivery schedule.

Great price and delivery was quick…

Great price and delivery was quicker than most. The chaps who did the delivery were polite and efficient in putting the furniture up.
I’ve dropped a star due to being quite surprised that they asked to use my microwave to heat up their lunch. I’m now left with a, not unpleasant, aroma of someone else’s meal.

LMB were great from start to finish. For what could have been an incredibly stressful time, LMB made my experience of a major building project relatively painless. Yes, there were issues, which anyone would expect on such a venture, but LMB were quick to respond and put things right (even going as far as sending flowers to my neighbours to apologise for excess noise from the scaffolding).
Ricki, the sales rep and the first person I met from LMB, was friendly, knowledgeable and understood my requirements whilst coming up with some great ideas to incorporate into the quote.
The quote wasn’t the cheapest I received, but I felt reassured by the obvious professionalism that came from Ricki and the accompanying documentation which broke down each element of the build to let me know where my money was going.
Ollie, the project manager, visited and gave the impression that he and LMB cared that my loft was constructed to the best quality and that he’d be overseeing every aspect of the build. He explained what should be happening and when and kept me posted on deviations from the original plan.
The trades were efficient, professional and ensured all finishes were of the highest quality, and they treated my house with respect which was very important for me. I’d like to give a special mention to Ryan (and Harry) who built the main structure. He provided good advice and genuinely cared that I had a good experience and that the loft and bathroom ended up being a great living space.
All of the above was made easy to understand and manage due to the excellent WhatsApp Group that LMB set up with me and all trades included so we could keep up to date on progress and ensure there were no clashes of opposite trades (e.g. plumber and electrician on the dame day).
I would absolutely recommend LMB to anyone considering a loft conversion.

Great Service All Round

I had Prestige Cars Kent do a service on my Mercedes.
I'm very happy with everything they did. They picked up my car on time and even managed to return it 2 days early. They kept me informed at every stage and even gave my car a wash (after asking me first) before returning it.
A job very well done.

A little tricky to find

A little tricky to find in the dark as it’s hidden away from the road (plus there’s a well lit Amazon collection point nearby). But once I found it, it was a breeze to use. I’ll probably use it again.

Caveat Emptor – Let the buyer beware!

I have never written a negative review for a company before as in most cases any failings are usually justifiable and accompanied with a genuine apology. However, Eden Windows, have failed in so many ways that I cannot and will not recommend them.

I chose Eden Windows for a replacement conservatory roof, not because they were the cheapest (they weren’t), but because I prefer to support local, independent businesses. I now regret this decision as I have never encountered a company that treats its customers with such contempt and disregard.

Whilst I’m relatively satisfied with the final product, the whole experience has sadly been marred by delays, frustration, anger and disappointment.

It feels that once I had accepted the, not insubstantial, fee I, as a customer, no longer mattered.

It took 5 months from paying the deposit to final completion. The actual installation was quoted at 5 days and eventually ended up being over 35 (7 weeks).

Tellingly, Eden have a cleverly worded clause in their T&Cs which means that even if they don’t stick to their own timescales and leave you hanging, there’s nothing you can do:

“We shall not be liable for any delay or loss or damage due to our failure to perform the Services promptly, or at all, where such failure is due exclusively to matters beyond our control. Time for performance shall not be of the essence of the Contract under any circumstances.”
Caveat Emptor – Let the buyer beware!
