I should have consulted Truspilot before obtaining a credit card from An Post/Avant/Bankinter S.A. In summary; a combination of deficiencies in the online application process, product disclosures and/or the information provided at the point of sale can result in the applicant receiving a financial product they did not intend to purchase. Customer services were not equipped professionally to manage basic customer enquiries.

I made two payments of €4000 against my outstanding balance. One on 10.10.2025 and another on 11.11.2025 via interbank payments to Citi bank in Spain their recognised bank on Avantcard website. Two payments were subsequently returned from Bankinter to my Revolution account which I have been using sparingly until recently. The Bankinter repayments made no reference whatsoever to my Avantcard account. But now after trying to establish, on several occasions, why my Avantcard account wasn’t reduced I see that they sent back my €4000 without explanation.
Seriously, this Internet banking is no longer working for me. Because they use GDPR rules to shield their systems but fail to apply GDPR rules to my data. Someone is trying to use algorithmic control to try to drive me crazy. I bet that I get a request for further info from Avantcard despite the fact that they can search their relational database for telepresence call recordings. It’s a nightmare but I have decided to treat their refunds as unsolicited gifts and I’m going to ignore their continued requests for payments until they fix their entire software system

Don't trust...

Will be paid off and then never used again. Ironically, I have a high credit limit with this institution, but I find using the card very unreliable.
Every other time I went to use it, my purchase was denied and I would have to receive a call to authorize usage.
If I need it in an emergency situation????

Honestly horrible

Honestly horrible. They changed the location of where my card is sent and my address 3 times. After I called nicely and asked them to send to correct address and location. They need to be sued honestly. Really don't even call if you have an issue. Because they seem to make it worse. Don't even.

TRASHY CARD AND TRASHY COMPANY... SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY

If I could give this card minus five stars, I would. It's the most frustrating card I have ever had in my life. It keeps declining when I try to use it. When I call customer service, they say they've unlocked it, but it still doesn't work. When you make a payment on your card, it takes much longer than it does for any other cards to show the payment. Then even after they receive the payment, it takes several more days to make the balance available to you. I don't know if they are holding our money to use it somehow in the financial market or what... This company is a nightmare. I'm closing my card and never again!

They’ll run hard check without your knowledge

Ok received an offer that said they’d only do a soft check on my credit so I decided that would be fine. I decided I didn’t want the card after that and then a week later they ran a hard check on my credit which dropped it a bit. What?? Beware they’ll run your credit without your knowledge. To say I’m angry is an understatement! Like wtf I didn’t want your card but you still went ahead and and a hard check??? Very sus

If I could do zero I would. We have our account years. Suddenly couldn’t login. I rang a few times and eventually was told to register again. I did and still cannot login. No doubt I will end up being charged for it.

I received an avant card with 1500.00…

I received an avant card with 1500.00 dollars credit line. After a few months they raised the credit line to 1800.00. I made a 2 payments of 1000.00 dollars within a week. Both payments posted. The day after they took another 1000.00 and said it was on auto payment, I never set up a auto pay? They returned the one payment and said it was one of the previous payments I had made and showed the account 1000.00 dollars over the limit. When I called the young lady said it was an error and would reset on the 17th of the month. I waited until the 27th and it did not reset. I made another 1000.00 payment and waited until it posted. The account then went down to 1700.00. While on the phone trying to get it sorted out and pay the card off they tried to tell me I still owed 2700.00. I never did get my credit of 1000.00. DO NOT GET ANY CARD FROM AVANT!!!!!! they are a bunch of scamming idiots.

scam card?

Is this a scam card? I applied for an avant credit card because credit karma recommended it for me to boost my credit score. I applied for the card & they gave me $300 credit & took off $75 & for me to pay $25 per month. Two weeks passed and I didn't receive my card. I informed an avant agent and they told me they were gonna send me a new card & they gave me a new due date to pay $25 which was due tomorrow on 6/19/25. Today is 6/18/25 & i let two weeks/15 business days passed and I didnt receive neither my first card nor my second card. I informed an agent again and they were going to send me a third card. I asked them will I get a new due date to pay the minimum of $25 and they told me no. I canceled the card and won't ever try to get a card from them again.

I had requested to be taken off autopay as I was going to be using a different payment method- I paid my bill early on the 16th - and was charged by autopay on the 18th- when it was returned they billed $35.46 in "adjustments" - even though when I called they said they would not bill me for a return from a bill i already paid- now they won't Reverse the charges so that is THEFT - they are STEALING

I am writing to formally dispute an unauthorized charge on my credit card, which was fraudulently made for an escort service. I have already provided all necessary evidence demonstrating that this charge resulted from a security breach in your system. Despite my efforts, I have not received a proper response, nor was I ever notified to approve this transaction—something my account is set to require for all charges.

Today, I contacted your support team and was told that I do not need any proof because the fraud department decided to uphold the charge. This response is unacceptable. As a customer, I have the right to transparency and a thorough fraud investigation. I demand a detailed explanation of why this decision was made, along with proof that this transaction was authorized under my name and consent.

If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will be left with no choice but to escalate my complaint through the appropriate consumer protection agencies and consider legal action. I expect a response within 48h, along with a clear resolution.

Please treat this with urgency. I look forward to your prompt reply.

God forbid you make a mistake and make…

God forbid you make a mistake and make an over-payment. I hadn't used my card in a year and accidentally had the statement payment selected. The statement balance was made, which in some instances would be fine. I reached out to ask that they refund the payment so i could get my $750 back and they declined even though I've been a customer to 4 years and never been late. I'm closing this account down now. Horrible customer service!!!

You will pay for FRAUD

This card is useless, there is no justice for victims of fraud. I reported fraud on my account, clearly fraud with the same amounts to the same companies and they refused to remove the charges, sticking me with 200.00 of charges! I will NEVER USE THIS CARD AGAIN. Don't get the card unless you enjoy paying for other people's purchases.
