Clare was extremely helpful and efficient when choosing my new bike, the entire process was smooth, and when something didn't go to plan it was rectified and sorted out quickly and without much effort on my end, overall professional and knowledgable.

I bought a bike from Big Moto after an extensive search. For the mileage and condition, it was the cheapest I could find. It was advertised at £2,800, but with a £200 admin fee (~8%) added, it becomes more of an average deal IMO.
They refused to move on price at all. Initially I was dealing with a young (inexperienced) member of staff who, much to the frustration of his manager, showed me their margin on the bike—around £1,400 (Approx. 50%) before the admin fee and before they had done anything to it.
On collection, I was told they carry out a “120-point check”. At first I was told I couldn’t see what those checks were and that even staff don’t get to see them. The manager then intervened and had the screen turned round. What I saw was around 60 checks, followed by another page of ~30 “additional” checks (many appearing to duplicate earlier ones). I’m not sure how they reach 120—perhaps by having multiple technicians check the same items—but while that may be technically true, it comes across as misleading.
The bike had a fresh MOT (apparently done independently), but I found an exhaust clamp missing between the CAT and silencer, causing blow by and leaking condensation on startup. This wasn’t mentioned on the MOT, so it was either missed or removed afterwards—neither inspires confidence. They did rectify it while I waited. The front inside brake pads on both sides were also very close to minimum and not listed as an advisory .
Before purchasing, I raised their reputation for using lower-quality parts. The manager said they do use good parts and gave the example that they “usually” fit Pirelli Rosso tyres. In reality, the front tyre fitted was a Dunlop GPR300— serviceable, but a budget tyre (~£80 retail, likely significantly less in bulk to traders). They explained nothing else on the bike had been replaced or serviced.
The admin fee was explained as covering lights, premises, and staff costs. That’s their prerogative, but it used to be absorbed into business margins. The fee is disclosed, but not prominently—it would be clearer and more transparent if simply included in the advertised price (I understand this is more of a comment on the general ethics of advertising and sales tactics as this practice is prominent with these larger scale businesses).
They will try to hard-sell extras such as extended warranties and trackers, which can be sourced elsewhere for less with comparable quality. They do eventually take no for an answer, but it takes persistence.
Finally, before I was allowed to leave, I was asked to sign a “truth agreement” confirming I had insured the bike. I had arrived in a van to transport it specifically to avoid their delivery charge, and explained I would not be riding it away from the premises. Despite this, they still pushed for me to sign. I refused and offered instead to sign something confirming I was removing it by van. After some back-and-forth, they relented.
Lastly, when I got home, I found coolant on the floor of the van, popped the seat off to find it had been significantly over filled. Coolant on rear tyre is extremely dangerous.
Overall, the bike itself is competitively priced due to their buying power, but there is a clear gap between how things are presented and how they actually are—particularly around pricing transparency, checks, and general communication.

This was the easiest way to sell my motorbike as I hadn't had a lot of interest privately. I sent good clear photos and was honest about the condition of the bike and its service history. It meant I was offered a very good price which didn’t come down on the day of collection. The whole process was very straightforward. I would highly recommend Bigmoto, and would definitely use again
