No refund no shoes
They have 2 years return policy if the shoe defect is their fault which I found out when my second pair of shoes cork undersoles deteriorated the same way. Better late than never I thought... But I've been waiting for them to issue a return for 2 months now, and every time I reach out I get an email saying that they contacted the the accountants and will let me know as soon as they get a reply. I've sent them the shoes back, I have no shoes and no money back and no hope at this point. I feel robbed.
Wow.. DO NOT TRUST THIS BRAND
Wow... the worst customer experience EVER from such a global brand. If I treated my customers in this way, I would have NO customers and I feel that this is what Birkenstock deserve. 5 attempts to purchase shoes online, 5 times money taken from account and on EACH ocassion, no order on the system. Will escalate to the CEO, Oliver Reichart, Mark Clarkson MD Northern Europe and Mark Jensen COO... but if the training that they give their customer service agents is anything to go by (Calling out ANI and RICARDO - who should not be allowed anywhere near customer - but maybe this is the plan!!!) , then I do not hold out hope. 1.9 stars on Trust Pilot says it all.. If only I knew this in advance. Their on line purchasing process IS A JOKE and not fit for purpose.. I hope that Birkenstock do not underestimate the power of social media.. as a storm is coming their way. DO NOT, DO NOT trust this brand... and if you must, then purchase directly from a retailer (at cheaper pricing) or use other On line sources, with great reviews who also sell at much better pricing. For us,,, I will never use this brand again and am glad we have a choice... SHAME ON YOU BIRKENSTOCK, may your shares suffer

Worst service experienced from a premium (overly price) brand
Like many others, only if I'd read the reviews I wouldn't be scoring 1 star, and that's even too much but trust pilot doesn't let you score less and what's worse, it seems they don't actually care as no one single review has been addressed by the company and my email complaining to them was dismissed.
Soo rubbish service for such premium (fancy word for expensive over priced items) brand.
I don't even think the quality is there anymore, has the company been bought out by someone else?
Had I known/experienced such abysmal service i wouldn't have purchased the replacement for their broken sleepers with them but gone elsewhere.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this brand at all, so different to brands from same country of origin.

Ordered weeks ago. Finally shipped on 3rd January. 5 days later and the Evri tracker still indicates they haven't received the package. Any time you email/speak to customer service you get the most lol copy-and-paste AI responses ever. I am the ghost of birkenstocks past advising you to order your birks from another retailer!
Wrongly sized shoes and Unhelpful customer service
Awful customer service I ordered for my husband who only as size 9 uk/43EU SHOES in dozens of different brand apart from the Birkenstock as their 43 is almost 1 inch bigger ordered in November and tried to send them back for a new size but being told I should have sent them back by the 8th of December even though it’s a Xmas present !! What kind of service is that ?? What are supposed to do with wrongly sized shoes ?? Exchange them please. It’s Christmas!

Very poor service!
Ordered sandals for my wife's Christmas on the 9th December. Delivery was meant to be made within 48 hours, however the package was never received and both Evri and Birkenstock stated the delivery was "delayed". On calling customer services on the 17th December they stated an investigation would be started which would take 2 weeks to complete. Not very handy for Christmas. When I asked for the order to be cancelled I was informed this would also take 2 weeks.
NOTE: I managed to cancel the order and get a next day order for the same product CHEAPER than directly from Birkenstock.
Disappointing!
Would give no stars if this was an option. Extremely disappointed with this company’s customer service especially as for some reason I was assuming it would be good. Christmas present hadn’t reached courier ten days after dispatch and contacted customer services merely wanting to check on status and if lost to have a replacement sent out before Christmas. The assistant, Inna could not have been more unhelpful and disinterested if she’d tried. After agreeing that the parcel was almost certainly lost in transit I was offered a refund. I said that what I wanted was for a replacement to be sent having ascertained that the item was in stock. Inna could/ would not help with that. I was required to place a new order this was assuming I had the funds to do so immediately, given that I would not receive my refund for several days. The original order had been placed over BF week and the price had now increased. Again Inna could not help with that. I needed to place my new order then contact them again to reclaim the price difference. Thankfully, I found my item on another retailers webpage and have just received my item two days later after ordering with free postage and at a better price so I won’t have to endure further communication with Birkenstock. We all know that parcels go missing especially at this time of year when things are really busy but for me how a company deals with these issues is crucial. Inna could easily just have sorted a replacement which I’d have been perfectly happy with so long as it arrived before Christmas. Instead her refusal to assist with the process means that I certainly won’t be buying anything directly from Birkenstock again.
Customer Service Letting the Brand Down
Checkout page overrode my billing and delivery postcode meaning the address didn't exist. I tried to rectify situation and Evri said I need to speak to Birkenstock. Birkenstock then emailed me to say item is heading back to their warehouse and to reorder. Tried to reorder using same voucher but failed and customer service said my item was still out for delivery. The live chat person (Ricardo) just kept saying "check your tracking link" over and over and was not understanding the situation - not matter how many times I explained it. He eventually repeated himself again and then ended the call. I am currently without the gift I purchased, have not received a refund and have no idea where the package will be delivered to. Just really poor
Zero customer service
Zero customer service. Use Evri for deliveries so bad start. Parcel didn't arrive, asked for delivery to my workplace, car dealership, said couldn't find it. Can't speak to Evri, just A1 Bot, Birkenstock not interested. Wait to see if returned to warehouse and then we will refund you. In the meantime you could order another pair, what to get not delivered. Spoke to 3 different people, same rubbish response. NEVER AGAIN. AVOID

My review is about customer service. I have had birk shoes in the past but many years ago. Have just ordered some slippers online but unsure of the sizing as my feet are different sizes. I rang customer service just now (uk) as it says on the website that they can change the order as long as it hasn’t shipped. However the woman I spoke to was really unhelpful, kind of mechanical responses and didn’t engage with me. Her only suggestion was to refuse the delivery . She clearly had no intention of feeding back on the misinformation on the website.
So…inflexible and misleading website. Totally unhelpful customer service for online.

Used to be a big fan - so disappointed.
I have been a big fan of the brand but I followed their cleaning instructions which damaged my shoes. I even queried their instructions before cleaning as the sole of this shoe is different to regular Birkenstocks but they said it was fine. I contacted them in July for support and after chasing several times, in November, they claimed the shoes look fine (despite being a completely different colour and full of watermark) so cannot raise a complaint. When I said I will sadly have to resort to legal action as they are not taking me seriously, their agent Nicoleta simply said “please do”. So disappointed.

This does not even warrant a 1 star. However, I ordered a pair of sandals. It was delivered, wrong fitting and then requested a refund. It is now over 45 days and I am still waiting for a refund. I requested the refund on the 31 August. Evri collected and recorded it was delivered on the 3 September. Birkenstock insist they have not received it despite acknowledgement from Evri that is was delivered. Despite numerous emails I have not had one positive reply from them, except a blame culture to phone Evri as its their fault. Evri delivered the parcel and it was signed for so Birkenstock are responsible for it. I have now written to Birkenstock again and waiting for a response. Sadly it looks like I have lost my £85. I have asked this to be escalated to their complaints section. I guess I just have to wait and see what transpires.

Really important to know
My understanding is that Birkenstock makes all of its products in either regular or slim fitting. Most retailers only carry the slim fitting so it's really important to find out your true size and width to be able to order with confidence online, if Birkenstock shop hasn't got the stock.
I went to the Birkenstock shop in Carnaby Street, London and had such great service from Georgina that I ordered a 37 in the Arizona and a 39 in the Bendlow both in regular fitting. Years ago I bought some Birkenstocks but didn't know I was wearing the wrong fitting because I'd purchased in a shoe retail outlet.
I was so impressed with Georgina, she clearly loves the brand herself and has a passion to share her knowledge even if you're not making a purchase. My daughter was looking to replace her Veja's and she too has bought 2 pairs of the Bendlow in different colours online after trying the shoes in the shop first. She too thought she was a slim fitting but has opted for the regular. She ordered the shoes online whilst she was in the shop to get the free delivery. Great products and service. Made in Germany since 1774, not China for a change.

I’ve been wearing Birkenstocks for decades, but never again now. Their ‘2–5 working days’ delivery promise is a sham – but, much worse, they use Evri for delivery, paid-for orders are ‘lost’ (or more likely stolen), and Birkenstock customer ‘services’ are atrocious. 8 days after placing my online order, my order was ‘lost’ by Evri. Evri have confirmed this, but Birkenstock’s customer ‘services’ seem systemically designed NOT to help customers and to hold onto customers’ money for as long as they can, instead of swift communications or a swift refund for an unfulfilled order. Their customer service email address takes days to reply and the replies are vague instead of offering a solution/refund. Their customer service phone line is staffed by people who (based on 2 experiences) are either trained to be completely ineffectual or proactively rude. These people are not there to help customers – so any online Birkenstock customer experiencing any issues (even the BIG issue of order theft and non-delivery) is stuck.
My experience with Birkenstock contrasts starkly with the prompt, helpful, high-quality service I’m used to from other, smaller, reputable online shoe retailers. I’ve had to seek advice from my bank as (10 days after the lost order) I am still waiting for Birkenstock to respond, take action and issue the legally required refund for non-provision of goods. This is genuinely the worst online-purchase experience I’ve had with any company.
Awful customer service
Terrible experience. Had an issue trying to return my order, the live chat agents are absolutely AWFUL. SO rude and so unhelpful. I was getting nowhere after an hour so asked to speak with a manager, to be told "we don't have a manager" ahahahaha. Ridiculous company. First order, certainly my last.
Shabby Product, Shabby Service
Ordered a pair of two strap arizonas, colour looked shabby with pale worn out strips on them. Not like pictures at all.
I had problems trying to return them, they produced the wrong return label and couldn’t change it or send replacement label, the customer service lady hung the phone up half way through the conversation.

If I could give this company a minus star, I would. I ordered a pair of sandals, but when I checked my bank account, Birkenstock had charged me for them twice. I immediately raised it with customer service, and got the following response -

Thank you for contacting BIRKENSTOCK
We kindly inform you we charged only one time for your order, and one of the payment you see is just a pre-authorization. The money will be un-blocked in the next 8 working days.

So, Birkenstocks supposedly pre-authorised payment still came out of my account and put my account into an overdraft situation, which I have been charged for. I don’t know any other business that pre charges, and then makes an actual charge for a purchase, meaning two payments come out of your bank account and then one is paid back. 8 days later! Madness! Be careful purchasing from this business. They don’t care and will rip you off, and take more money than you anticipate.
And they can’t even get my title right, I’m a Miss, not a Mr!
