Ordered and paid for a skip from this company website asked what day we would like.. get to morning of delivery to get a none disrupt txt message to let me know they aren’t delivering for operational reasons no mention of when they will.. I rang and was basically after calling twice told they couldn’t even guarantee delivery of skip the day after it was booked for.. no idea when it would be with me. Basically they are taking everyone’s money when they don’t have the capacity to supply and hoping they can fob you off until you can fit in at some point that probably doesn’t suit you. Avoid them altogether and customer service none existent!

I wanted to do a house clearout, so I ordered a skip online for the long weekend. It was scheduled to arrive on Saturday. This was confirmed via e mail and charge taken from my account. Waited all day and skip never arrived. Left my house in disarray. Then on Tuesday morning when I am back in work a skip arrives. It was explained to customer service that this was not useful and that their error had cost me time and money. They were unwilling to provide any compensation other than the offer of leaving the skip with me for longer, which is of no use. Very unprofesional service, plenty of other providers in the market. Use someone else.
I had a terrible experience with them
I had a terrible experience with them. First, they registered my address wrongly. Then, they corrected it, but the day they said to me that my bins will be collected and their actual collection days differed. Their collection staff continuously skipped our street. Finally, I had to change them to another company. Not recommended for the southern Dublin.

BINS NOT COLLECTED! AVOID! Disappointed by tattered old bins delivered, hefty price hikes and hostile staff. This started out as a great company and I was with them since the very start when they were actively looking for new customers. Shame they went downhill. When you raise an issue they would rather cancel your account immediately rather than sort it out. A real shame.

Anyway to be fair to them they did refund it but only after I had to chase them up for a 2nd time.
Atrocious disinterested company with abysmal service
I would strongly warn people against using City Bin Company. They will take your money and then once in a while decide to provide the service which you've paid for. Customer service is dismissive and uninterested .. constant promises of calls back which never materialise. Easily the worst company I have ever dealt with. Just go with someone else.

Weekly garbage retrieval disruptions for the past year results in weekly calls to them and little to none resolution. No proactive troubleshooting from company's end. Disappointed about their service and communication.

Brown bin wasn’t emptied I scheduled it to be collected on another day they came it still wasn’t emptied as it was “contaminated” and I asked what was I supposed to do about the situation and the woman told me to empty it myself…
I am physically disabled as she knew as well. I also found the found the bin across my main road and also in neighbouring gardens. This whole video footage thing is a disgrace and so is the company I will be moving and could sue for negligence they have put me through. Since the company became apart of Thorntons it’s gone to an absolute disaster!

Missing lot of collections
I have been a customer of this company for 3 years. In the first two years no major concerns, except some delays in the bin collections from time to time.
But the last year has been a nightmare. Bins not collected in multiple occasions, causing lot of disturbances to me and my family.
Had to drop my garbage at the collection center myself and be billed for it!! (except one time, that the guy in the center allowed me to drop it free of charge)
Reported the issue each time but nobody contacted along more than 5 moths experiencing a clear lack of service.
And things going even worst. My bills started to increase due to "excess weight" going up month by month (how can increase the weight when missed collections several times?)
Decided to stop paying (and cancel the service with this company) until got a solution!
Constant issues, bad customer service.
Been with the company for a few years and they're just terrible in every department. They never get back you in a timely manner, there's constant issues with bins & collection schedule. Avoid.
Don't trust any positive review they get
The only few stars this company gets on google reviews is from households with little kids, apparently this is the only thing that this company praise itself for. Typically for honking horns to kids as they pass by or giving hi-fives. You can look that up on their website, don't expect a real service at least not in the recent year/months. service was a terrible in the past year and half (customer for about 2 years) and now they missed collecting my brown bin not once not twice, but three times in row, first missed collection they managed to provide me with an alternative day (they always give you alternative day on the weekend. hoping that you are away on vacation). obviously not everyone is free to fix their mistakes.
Terrible company Avoid at all costs. and e-mail or phone support is a joke you can be waiting for almost 30 minutes to get a hold of someone, and email replies takes about a week. without real solution. now my bin is overflowint as they didn't provide me with alternative collection date for over 14 days ( 2 cycles).
They always pickup your green bin, as it generates them some income, but brown is a hit and mess and you can wait for ages for it to be picked up.
Avoid at all costs.

Hidden charges.
This company charge you for ending their service. €15 per bin. Apart from their numerous price hikes, this extra charge just shows the horrible financial bully tactics they use. Do not use this company.
WATCH YOUR DIRECT DEBIT
I always thought city bin were a great company. This had changed. I received a bill for 26 euro this month which is normal. However my direct debit was for 33. I queried it and they said it was for previous errors. So why did they not tell me this and why was the bill different than the DD, No longer a trusted partner. Bring back Gene
Very Poor collection service
Complete joke of a service. I have a Skip sitting in my drive for over a week. Every day we get a call or text telling us they are too busy to collect the skip.
Do not order a skip from here unless you want to store it for them for weeks on end.
Truly Terrible Skip service
My skip was delivered last Tuesday and it still sits in my driveway the following Saturday. I had multiple failed promises of pickup every day since Wednesday. A truly awful service - avoid their skip service at all costs

I booked a skip with city bin because their household waste collection is quite efficient and I’ve been pleased with them, not because they were the cheapest, in fact they were quite a bit dearer than some other quotes I got. However it was a big mistake. I ordered a skip for 1 day, yet 3 days later, it’s still sitting in my driveway. I haven’t been able to charge my car, we have a family event on today and the monstrosity sitting in my driveway has ruined it for us. I made calls and emails but just kept getting apologies, but no action. I am disgusted at how I have been treated. Do not use city bin is the best advice I can give anyone!

Do not use this company I paid upfront dec 2023 for the first 6 months they didn’t collect over 20 times then when they did eventually collect it weeks later they took money out of my account for it been overweight, it was over weight due to their negligence & I was refunded only for it to happen several times again, leaving me with no choice but to block them from illegally taking money from my account due to over weight charges that where not my fault, I rang the company over & over again the manager seemly left & a manager with the same name replaced her, I told them I would like the next year free or compensation for all of this drama, and the fact it went on for a year, they gave me a bare minimum discount which I wasn’t happy with & I am now awaiting again for the manager to contact me.,, my bins uncollected again & no response or apology, avoid at all costs
