I've been running my Cocoon since I received one of the first devices to be shipped.

They have had there problems but they are a new start up and it is new technology so you would expect a few issues. The product has been getting better with every release of updates for the app and software.

The product itself is extremely well built and oozes quality. However, that's not enough. Does is do what it sets out to do?

Cocoon and other devices say they are security devices. Not sure they secure your house but what they do is alert you when there in intrusion. Cocoon does this job extremely well. Here are two examples of what I've experienced.

It tells me when my cleaner comes to the house by detecting her entrance through the back door of my house even though the Cocoon sits in my hall. That's pretty good I think. My actual house alarm went off the other day and I was able to look to see if I had a Cocoon alert and sure enough i didn't and by looking at the live camera I was pretty sure it was a false alarm.

Multiple cameras could be good as when I get an alert that there's movement in the house I have to wait for the person to pass the camera to see who it is. However, my Cocoon is in the hallway and so any burgular is going to go in the hallway at some point during a break in.

All in all, for the new price that it is selling at, I'd recommend this product to anyone.

This little contraption is more than just an amazing security device, its truly a one system set-up that does all I want & need.

Live video is delayed barely though, 10 seconds at most.
Records continuous so in a moment of intrusion there's a prior, during & after recording the incident.
Unless you're watching live or have your smartphone in hand at the time.
Audio is quite good! Very intense & accurate.

Siren works well!! My boyfriend sounded it.. jerk. Could be a bit louder but still very shocking :P

Very neat design, classy and elegant.
Small and simple, literally the size of a cricket ball.
Great wide view of the house & all entry points.

No cons honestly, just things to work on.
Great little company and the customer service rocks!!

Future Improvements:
- smartphone display features could have a bit more variety colors, viewing prefrences,
- desktop view & or email notifications regarding incidents
- Cocoon colours for customization ;)
- potential guest access for an allotted time (timer for access to my cocoon for friends and family)
- maybe a few simple and sleek tech additions to the home such as an outside camera or a doorbell with interactive vision.

Just ideas for the future.

Just received this today and so far so good! To start, the online chat feature has connected me to someone immediately every time I have used it. I had many questions before ordering and had them all answered quickly with the friendly customer service rep.

I ordered right through the Cocoon website on Thursday and had my package on Saturday. Extremely fast shipping! I opened it up and set it up with mostly no issues. I had to connect it to my wifi twice for it to finally recognize it but that isn't a big deal. I had my account and the whole thing set up in under 5 minutes. I tested the video, audio, and the alarm and they are all very good. The alarm is loud and would for sure deter anyone who near it.

I then decided to "arm" the device and test out the notifications. I armed the Cocoon in a different room and then proceeded to walk by it and make noise. It was not recognizing anything and I was not receiving notifications of activity. I hopped right back on their website and started up another chat. They were very quick to respond and had me test a few things with my device. They had me "open a door" which I was doubtful that it would recognize since I was clapping right in front of it and got no response. I opened the door and what do you know, a notification popped up on my phone! I was amazed that it knew the difference between just clapping and a door opening. Turns out it takes 7-10 days for it to fully learn your house and your behaviors so I will come back and update this if anything else changes.

So far I am impressed with the customer service and the fast shipping of this device. There is always a 30 day money back guarantee with each device which is also a peace of mind.

I was an early funder of the IndieGoGo effort to make Cocoon a reality. I contributed enough to buy two Cocoons, which I planned on using in my rather large home. After the LOOONG wait, and the endless buildup, the Cocoons finally arrived, and I learned that you can only use one Cocoon per home. I was not told this in advance, even as I was purchasing two Cocoons. And, you can only use one Cocoon per smart phone, so in a practical sense, one person can only use one Cocoon even if he/she has two homes (which I do). (Does anyone want to buy a barely used Cocoon?) I also had connection issues - the Cocoon had a difficult time finding my network and getting activated. I had to go through the process several times. The upside is the video and the audio from Cocoon are quite good. I am told that Cocoon will 'learn' normal household habits and will tailor it's alerts to the household situation. Cannot confirm or deny that at this point. I would like a way to mount Cocoon on a wall. It sits in a base to which it is not attached, and there is no way to do anything but set it on a table or a shelf. I wish the situation was different, as I had high hopes, but Cocoon has failed to live up to the hype.

Excellent little device that's effective and easy to use

I am one of the lucky founders of Cocoon. You just pair it with your phone and connect it to your LAN and that's it. There are literally no preferences or settings to do, it just works. And not even a moth can pass the room without triggering an alarm ;-) Recommended!

Package arrived on schedule and installing was a breeze. I set it up in my living room to cover the entry points and view of the room. The wide angle lens works great and the view is crisp.
I love being able to see what is going on at home anytime right on my phone and being alerted when I am away.
Last week I was overseas and early in the morning I was alerted by my cocoon. The recorded video showed no movement but I could hear screeching like furniture dragging and doors being open and shut.
Alarmed I called my neighbor to ask him to please go have a look and make sure we did not have an intruder. He reminded me that I had asked him to take my trash bin out of the garage and take to the curb on trash pick up day- which explained the sound that the Cocoon picked up.
After that experience, I am a true believer and recommend this device to all my friends 100%.

Works well, Easy to set up, how about an iPad app, and fine tuning/adj for microphone

Have various other makes of makes/ models in my home which show a clearer picture in poor light and also show instant motion on my phone with no delay.
The Cocoon has at least a 10 second delay/lag which I'm very disappointed with.

A very innovative and easy to use security system. Alerts work well and the streaming footage is of a good quality. One flaw that I would like to see Cocoon address is the app being constricted to use with one Cocoon system. I would like to see the app being developed to allow the user to have more that one Cocoon system monitored, I.E. for users who might wish to use Cocoon in more than one property. This would really set Cocoon apart and be an invaluable tool for multiple property owners or home and business users. All in all, no negatives, just improvements in mind.

I use it most when going on Holiday or off for longer periods of time, its a great way to check up on things in my flat. A few false alarms but my Cocoon is still learning the environment.

super product, great packaging, works as expected ( some glitches will be adressed), all in all i'm very happy about this experience and wish the company a lot of deserved success..

I was one of the first 100 or so investors and so got cocoon for a good price. I've enjoyed the journey towards its production and the frequent updates.
I was really excited to receive the product and to set it up. But having received it, it's just not for me.
Firstly, in the first few days it sent me alerts when nothing had happened, having reviewed the recorded footage (again no complaints over image quality) I think it was down to passing vehicles, and perhaps this was made worse for the cocoon by the fact I'd left windows ajar - but it's the middle of summer and I'm not shutting them just because of an Internet connect "alarm"
Secondly my partner does not have a modern enough phone to run the latest version of iOS (this is a disappointment with cocoon - surely the cocoon app could cope with being on an iPhone4 - the app's not that complicated) anyway, because of the old phone my partner does not have the app so cocoon does not know he exists - so when he returned to the house the cocoon should have treated him as a burglar, but it didn't even register anything..
The combined effect of false alarms at nothing and no alarms at someone actually returning to the house mean that it's says unplugged in a cupboard already, I've decided it was a poor purchase and if I could get my money back I would.

great product, regular updates, very happy

If your want only one device, simple, efficient, easy to configure, choose Cocoon.

It sometimes thinks I've arrived home when I've not and sometimes thinks I've left when I've not.

The app has improved a lot since I first used it so I can see that improvements are being made all the time.

Brilliant, easy too use

Great design and functionality. I think the app needs some more work as it doesn't allways alert me when it's armed and there is movement. There is also no notification when it is no longer connected to the Internet via Router.

I'm definitely not in the market for complex security systems because I'm lazy, and I also hate the sound of a false burglar alarm as much as the next person.

Cocoon solves both of those problems, because once it's up and running it arms itself automatically when all mobile phones leave the house, and when it does detect something wrong it only alerts me and not any angry neighbours.

I live in a small flat but the Subsound indicator shows me that even if I lived in a much bigger house it would be able to detect movement and sound in a room very far away.

Cocoon is a brilliant little product. Small in size, and provides a smart way of monitoring my house without the hassle of Home Security companies, and their high prices.
