We had a great experience travelling around Greece. Our guide tour guide Barbara and driver Nichos were simply brilliant. The wealth of knowledge and commitment to ensure our group got the most out of our tour by Barbara was impressive to say the least. While the driving skill of Nichos on some of the country ‘roads’ we travelled on was outstanding.
The archaeological sites and museums we visited on our tour were brilliant and our non-historical excursions to a local winery for a tasting session and an olive farm to learn about olive cultivation were also first class.
The only disappointment we had on the whole tour was the restaurant in Grand Meteora Hotel at Kalambaka where we stayed for two nights. The hotel is branded as five-star but from the quality of the food served to guests the restaurant clearly was not.

A well planned itinerary covering most of the essential and best sights of the island; also well timed in order to avoid the busiest times and lengthy queues. Communications good. Small group of 18 (the max) led by an experienced, informative and friendly Sicilian guide, Massimo, whose qualifications meant we didn't need to use local guides anywhere. Coach comfortable and well driven, with water supplied to guests being a nice touch and helped to keep the tour party on time. Longer journeys broken by comfort breaks. Hotels were all of good standard, and included meals were generally all very good too, with recommendations made by the guide for our evening meals. The final stay was in Taormina Mare on the coast rather than the main town up the hill so it was more restful, but took longer to visit. We had an extra day which we used to do the "climb" up Etna - we did queue for 45 mins to exchange the voucher provided for a ticket only to be told at the booth we needed to do that in a different area - so communication on that could have been better.
A few very minor issues then but nothing to tarnish a very enjoyable holiday which we would highly recommend.

Our tour took us to all the locations in Ancient Greece that you would expect to experience.
We had inclusions that were unexpected, like truffle hunting , wine & olive oil tasting , just a few of the items that made this trip even better .

Our guide was knowledgeable , the hotels were good & the weather was beautiful.

We had a great trip & will travel with Cox & Kings again if they have a tour to Java Indonesia in their Small Group programme.

Well organised programme with comfortable and well located hotels and excellent tour director who ensured everything ran smoothly and all members of the group were properly engaged. Tour director was ably supported by local tour guides in all the different locations, all of whom had a detailed knowledge of their specialist area. Overall the tour provided very good value for money.

This was our first tour with Cox and King's and it will definitely not be our last. From start to finish the care and attention we received was second to none. A cruise down the Nile to see the pyramids, tombs and temples had always been on our wish list and boy did it live up to our expectations and more.
The ancient monuments are incredible and defy description. They speak for themselves but our trip was made extra special by the staff we encountered along the way.
Our hotel in Cairo overlooked the Nile and was extremely comfortable and the Rep from Cox and King's who met us at the airport was quick to meet our every need.
Our Egyptologist guide in Cairo was excellent. She had so much knowledge and answered all our questions easily.
Our transfer to Luxor and our ship went smoothly and because it was very early in the season there were only 22 guests on board and 45 staff. We wanted for nothing. The ship was luxurious including the food. The staff were excellent. So well trained and respectful but fun on Egyptian night and always smiling.
Our Egyptologist guide for this part of the trip was wonderful. We learned so much from him especially in Aswan as that is where he grew up.
We had one tour guide and transport between 4 people on the whole trip which was fantastic for us.
I would probably say that this is the best trip we have ever done and I would have no hesitation in recommending Cox and King's to anyone.

Booked a Madagascar trip with Cox & Kings, but a week before departure the FCO advised against travel due to unrest. We only found out ourselves online – Cox & Kings never contacted us and didn’t even send holiday documents. After chasing them by phone, they finally confirmed the holiday was cancelled but offered no alternatives. Refund took another two days to appear. Understand the unrest wasn’t their fault, but the lack of communication and poor service was very disappointing.

This trip was my first time in South Africa (first time in Africa generally) and first Cox & Kings Tour. I’d been unsure about South Africa before - media does tend to focus on the negatives - but thought I’d give it a go. My travel agent took on board what I was looking for and suggested this itinerary together with a days extension in Cape Town at the end so I could do Robben Island and also meet up with friends.

Everything was extremely well organised - from the meet & greet at JoBurg arrivals to escort us to the transfer desk for the connection to Port Elizabeth to the excellent guide who was with the group throughout. It was a packed itinerary but also some down time to do your own thing or just relax.

First stop was 3 nights at the private Kariega Game Reserve River Lodge. Wow just wow. We had 2 game drives each day where we saw all the big 5 plus many may more - incredibly lucky with the sightings and weather. We also had a boat trip down the Kariega river to the Indian Ocean and a nature walk. Dumi our guide was superb. The accomodation was anazing , the staff very friendly and the food outstanding.

Next was 3 days in Knysna - start of the Garden Route - at another outstandingly good hotel Knysna Hollow. Boat rides, Featherbed Nature reserve, hiking if you wanted to, great coastal town with excellent choice of restaurants and shopping at the Waterfront. Following that we travelled via Tsitsikamma National Park, Cango Caves to Oudtshoorn an Ostrich Farm and another great hotel De Zeekoe Guest Farm. Further along route 62 to Franschhoek La Franschoek Hotel & Spa for two nights, wine at Warwick winery, free time in Franschoek and Stellenbosch before heading to Cape Town for final 2 nights ( 3 or ne as I extended a day). Great days touring round the Western Cape down to Cape of Goid Hope and also to the Penguins.

Every single aspect of this tour was great - I thoroughly enjoyed every minute and wondered why I’d left it so long to visit. Tye people were friendly, scenery outstanding , weather superb, all hotels and food excellent, the included experiences superb. All of this was enhanced even more by two things 1) The great group of people I travelled with - 8 of us in total and we all got along very well and 2) The superb guide - Janice Davids - and our great driver Quinton. Janice was full of information and delivered it all with a great sense of humour. Both she and Quinton very very accommodating to us all. Add in an amazingly good ZAR : GBP fx rate - everything so cheap but great quality.

In short - I would thoroughly recommend this tour and Cox & Kings. It’s leaped to Joint No 1 in my all time best holidays (tying with Antarctica) - no mean feat as I’ve done some truly superb trips over the years. The experience has left me with a great desire to visit South Africa again, particularly the Garden Route and also to other locations in Africa.

We had a wonderful time on our trip to Peru, it was simply fabulous. The Itinerary we chose provided us with a good representation of Peru, which was amazing, what a country. The tour manager was very helpful, which made for a smooth trip, and all the guides were excellent too. All in all an amazing trip. We loved it.

My wife and I have just spent ten days in Uzbekistan with Cox & Kings. The arrangements were impeccable, the guide was excellent, and the whole experience was very impressive. Everything seemed to have been thought of. I am 90 years old and was really well looked after. Thank you so much for the holiday of a lifetime.

Thought I'd take a different slant on my review this time & give my experience from my first phone call to Cox & Kings to arrange a revisit to India.
I'm known to be a tad precise & v patient Galina listened carefully to my brief/requirements. After checking dates for room availability she then checked the business class upgrade for VS & gave respective supplements. Before I'd asked, she was then checking BA as an alternative & this did offer a saving.
Questions were answered regarding extentions, transfers, quality of hotels & visas. Also an opinion BA v

I will say I'm a retired travel agent of some 45+yrs experience & extremely picky with my own travel arrangements. I know Cox & Kings from these years & I have to say, Galina is a fine ambassador for your company! I very much appreciate the time you spent with me today.

The trip was really well organised. The itinerary gave us a good taste of the main points of interest without
fatigue. Hotels were excellent and the sampling of wines, olive oil, focaccia and mozzarella were a good balance to the sightseeing tours. Our guide was also very helpful and informative

Thank you Cox & Kings for organising our dream safari trip to Kenya. It was perfect. Our safari guide, Joseph was brilliant. He was knowledgeable, informed, patient, funny and great company and nothing was too much trouble. We saw so many fantastic sights, amazing animals, and met many wonderful people. Every camp/resort was unique and beautiful with wonderful accommodation, lovely staff and fantastic food.
We would definitely recommend Cox & Kings and will return for our next adventure.

Package tours were decent, but communication was a bit delayed.

Fantastic trip , arranged by Coxandkings, “The heart of Ancient Greece “ ,we travelled in Mid June. Weather was all sunny ,warm , only about two hours much needed refreshing rain in Olympia at the last leg of the trip.It was a group travel.
Collection at Athens airport and departure arranged skilfully , porter with his cart carried all the group’s baggage .
Guide who had a PhD in Ancient Greek history, driver took excellent care for us. Coach was comfortable with enough leg space and drinking water bottles always avialble.
The country was picturesque with
Olive tree forests , grape vines ,mountains covered with trees , and houses one or two storied with red tile roofs dotted the countryside, Even in the main city Athens no skyscrapers to obstruct the sky view.
Itinerary was arranged perfectly with mixture of ancient history, culture and religion.
All interesting places of history book were there for us to see,
Acropolis, Parthenon, Corinth Canal,Mycenae and Epidarus, Nafpion lovely town with its hill, Picturesque Byzantine town of Monemvasia,Mystras with its eight hundred stone stairs down, Olympia with its museum, main site and running track, Delphi site of a million and half olive tree forest, in Delphi museum, temple of Apollo, ruins of sanctuary of Athena, Pythian festival stadium,nearby mountain village Arachova, truffle hunting in oak forest of Kalembaka then to the Eastern Orthodox monestries on world famous Meteora rocks.
We also had Greek wine testing stop , olive Museum,and a trip to olive farm with demonstration of olive oil making .there was an olive tree a thousand years old .
Hotels were magnificent, splendid Kinsterna hotel in Monemvasia with its beautiful garden ,grape vines and excellent breakfast,,hotel Amalia in Delphi with its smiling ready to help staffs in dining, and Divani Meteora hotel with excellent view of the Meteora rock.
Many full boards ,some half board ,welcome dinner and farewell drinks
At stops on the way coffee was available and English being second language in the country had no language barrier.

Thank you Cox and Kings our time in Peru was wonderful. Although extremely tiring - there was so much included - we came away with many memories and a sense of real achievement. We were well looked after with very good quality hotels. The trip planned to ensure that everything worked smoothly. e.g. we were exposed to the higher altitudes gradually to minimise risk of altitude sickness. Many fantastic sights and scenery, with Machuu Picchu being awe inspiring.
All guides were very knowledgeable and friendly

A most enjoyable Peru tour with Cox &Kings. Well balanced itinerary delivered very efficiently. Great selection of hotels. The local tour leader and guides were good.

I throughly enjoyed the trip. All 3 countries were interesting to visit. The guides very good particularly Sally our guide in Gerogia who was excellent. A busy programme with lots to see. A lot of walking including steps involved. Good group of travellers.
