Wished I’d payed more attention and not fallen into the trap of these companies having keywords that direct customers to them.

As far as my experience went, this is effectively a scam. If you need your DBS, request it via the official GOV.uk website.

Unprofessional company that does not…

Unprofessional company that does not turn CRB’s and DBS checks round in the time they say. Still waiting and it’s been 8 weeks now.
Took the money and they don’t respond to their emails. Honestly save yourself any stress and don’t deal with this company.
Before you come for me DBS-Online I won’t be giving you any order references for you to shame consumers by sharing their names. Ironic that you claim to keep personal information private of customers.

Stay clear of such companies

Stay clear of such companies, they mislead people by saying dbs within 72 hrs or 5 days, that is a lie. As soon as you pay and when after those days you ask them, they will tell you, contact the goverment dbs section, "we have no control or authority when your dbs has been submitted". When I referred them to their promise, they said sorry, we cant help. I have emails, in case they say I am lying. I demanded for a refund, they refused. Then after a month and a half they said my details were incorrect therefore declined, yet it was the same details I used with my agency and the dbs was issued after 7 weeks. Don't waste your money, its just a very dishonest and naughty business,not sure why the government allows such in 2025. Your reply is misleading again, it is your company yes, check your records again. i have emails. I knew you would say it was another company, it is not. I will only take this down if you refund me fully. So you say I am not legitimate? Why would I just post a negative review if I did not deal with yourselves? If you check my emails you will note that I warned you I would post a very negative review due to the way you treated me. Full refund with interest and I take this down. Simple. I lost loads of jobs because of your company. Nothing personal.since I gave you my ref number, you have suddenly gone quiet, and there have been 4, 1 star reviews since then. You are making up about wrong name, my name has never changed nor been wrong and I filled it correctly. Yes I threatened you because I wanted a refund as you could not get me a dbs in 5 days as you allege, which is a lie.

Edit: Mr Johnera, we made you aware that the Home Office withdrew your application as you applied in September with a different surname. We gave you the telephone number for you to correct your name history, but you have not, and now you blame us for not delivering your result. Please refer to our emails of 21/11/25 at 08:07 and 09:41 giving you details of how to correct this. You them threatened us with a ‘horrible review’ if we didn’t correct it - but we already explained that you need to correct it yourself with the DBS as it was for an application not made with us. Please stop trying to blackmail our company.

Edit: Please can I have your reference number?

Hi Shepherd. I've searched our database but we have no record of you being a client of ours. Please could you get in touch with your application number to prove that this is aimed at us specifically? Otherwise, such a review is highly damaging to our reputation when we have recently invested in updated systems that integrate better with the Home Office, and therefore offer far superior customer service to our clients.

If this is aimed at another website, please have the decency to remove it from our Trustpilot. Thank you.

If you'd like to scroll through a few of our reviews, you'll see that the majority of legitimate reviews (those with reference numbers) are very positive. The 'organic' reviews tend to be people like you who have targeted the wrong company.

A company that claims to do all the DBS…

A company that claims to do all the DBS checks within 6-24hrs but as soon as you sign and pay they then send you a notification that contradicts this. I contacted via email straight away when this happened as there is no contact number to cancel and request full refund. This company tried to charge you £30 for cancelling. Stay clear of this company. Reference number #1630-7209 - 820726 and still hasn’t replied to any of my emails.
My review is genuine and you know this as Helen from your email support will be able to confirm.
Reply dated 13/12/25 I am a verified trustpilot reviewer and you have my reference and you have several emails off me too. I have already approached my bank to process a chargeback as you are a company that misleads consumers.
Edit: in response to this and you’ve displayed my name without my permission’s on here.
Your own website claims to conduct the search within the 6-24hrs, then you pay and are met with a completely different longer timescale. Hence the immediate cancellation as was mislead into this. Now you’ve not earned £30 of my money but it seems a running course as per other consumers reviews on you. Now I would respectfully ask you remove my name from public eye as I have not agreed to this. Also lets refer to what Helen said I signed T&C’s however there is no mention of this charge that is not leaving you in financial hardship nor have you earned it. I did screenshot all of this and emailed it to you. Now I owe you nothing and you owe me my money in full back.

EDIT: I HAVE REPORTED YOU FOR BREACHING MY OWN PERSONAL DATA ON HERE AND TOOK SCREENSHOTS BEFORE THIS WAS REPORTED. Please take note DBS-Online the following:
In the UK, your right to a full refund and to cancel a purchase is primarily protected by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. The specific act that applies depends on the situation (e.g., whether the goods are faulty or if you simply changed your mind when buying online).

Edit: Hi. I’ve located your application. You applied and we sent you instructions IMMEDIATELY on how to proceed, and get your results within 6 to 24 hours, but instead of sending us your identity documents, you decided to cancel. Therefore, how do you know that your results wouldn’t have been returned in 6 to 24 hours? About 80% of our clients get their basic results back within this time, so I’m afraid it’s entirely on you for not sending us your identity documents that you haven’t received any results. I’m not sure how you’d expect us to act on your behalf if you haven’t followed the given instructions? I’m afraid no provider is able to submit any application without identity documents.

As you’re aware , we’ve offered you a refund of £51.50, which is the exact amount you agreed to when you completed the application form. Please let me know if you wish to proceed with that.

My first experience with dbs-online was very positiive i recieved the results within the 5 days. A premium service that did what it said on the tin..........................However ................................... i have recently put in another 5 applications for people needing DBS checks, paid over £100 for each of them and well lets just say that i have not been happy. I dont know how it can advertise a 5 day service on 80% of applications. Its not true and its false advertising. It may not be fully in their control but if thats the case dont offer a 80% of applications are through in 5 days cause its not correct if it were id only be waiting one more coming back not all 5. i think they are all the same to be honest.

Don’t waste your money go the government website direct!

I rushed into apply for a dbs with this company without doing any research.
It was one of the top companies on Google search.
I felt at the time I was paying a lot for a basic DBS however I needed to sort one urgently so proceeded. £81.50 for this service.
Literally 5 minutes later I checked the cost of a basic DBS via chat GPT and it confirmed a basic check can be applied for via the government website for £18.
I immediately emailed the support team and asked for a refund.
They agreed to the refund but at a charge of £30 so my refund would only be £50.50.
I was then told it may take up to 20 days before I see the money back in my account.
I take full responsibility for being stupid enough for rushing through my DBS application but warn others do not get ripped off by this site, just go directly to the government website!

Beware

Beware. Their DBS check is not accepted with reputable companies. I paid in full and found company I applied for won't accept their DBS check. I asked for refund and was rejected outright by their customer support. Also including Post Office check their fee came to around 100GBP which I found was 40GBP more than First Advantage Group DBS check.
