No airmail small packet (epacket) option. Every other proxy have that option on their shipping calculator page, japan post site says it's enable so no idea why is worth paying to this guy

I can always shop without worry, my packages have always arrived in perfect condition with no hiccups or frustration.
From start to finish, every purchase is a good experience and they've never let me down.
The free warehouse storage period is great and the shipping options are reasonable and all of my packages have been well packed, I'd even trust the standard packaging option even though I always play it safe, they go above and beyond to ship things very, very safely. I am always very happy.

Last time using their services. I keep watching items fly out of my hands because buyers can’t get to the order fast enough. Rather than buy the items out right or settle things via private message after purchasing they comment to ask if it’s okay to purchase. I understand that it’s probably just a procedure, but to a customer with no understanding it looks like a waste of time and that our order does not matter. I literally just watched another item that I had put an order in for almost 11 hours ago slip out of my hands. I watched the page as the buyer never responded to the seller. This is frustrating and disappointing, especially for people who are regular customers. I am aware that it was announced on the website that buy times will be slower due to order increases, but this bad? For future customers please give at least an ETA out of care for the customer.

My first experience with DEJAPAN was very pleasant. I recommended it to a friend of mine first who liked it, then later on I decided to try it myself.
At the time of his purchase only a short few months ago (October), DEJAPAN had limited shipping options to choose from and he was noticeably frustrated by that. I am pleased to report that things have since changed. Customers now have a variety of methods at their disposal. I will note that FedEx is only available to the US and Canada, and it will not appear under the second payment options list unless you ask support for a quote. They told me it is their most expensive option and few people use it, so it is not available by default.
There were three auctions I was after that led to me starting my first order. One had the direct purchase option enabled while the other two did not. Long story short, I won all three. I would highly recommend using their “Credit Card” option as your main form of payment (note that debit cards are accepted!). My credit union unfortunately flagged my payments as suspicious and put a block on my card, so I had to work with them and DEJAPAN to resolve the issue. DEJAPAN does not use third-party payment processors like all other proxies I’ve worked with do, meaning no extra “transaction” or “processing” fees are charged. You simply pay the exact exchange rate from your currency to the Japanese Yen at the time of your payment.
If you set a max bid that is larger than the list price, DEJAPAN will cancel the original charge and refund the difference (this is, of course, assuming you win the auction). If you lose any auctions, you will be refunded in full.
For your first payment (I’m only talking about Yahoo! Auctions and any web shops outside of Fril and Mercari), you only pay the cost of the item without factoring in domestic shipping to their warehouse.
I was very pleased with how fast all of my orders were delivered after the sellers received payment. I did not have to wait for more than a week. I ordered a CD from Amazon Japan as my fourth item and it arrived after 1 business day.
After all of my orders arrived, I sent them a request to pack everything. Packing took two or three days. I paid both 400 yen in consolidation fees (100 yen per item), my shipping bill, and the combined domestic shipping amount between the four orders (one was free) as my second payment. I emailed them asking to add a FedEx quote to my shipping options list, and a day after my package was packed, they did so.
*International shipping will most likely upset you, so I am warning you ahead of time.* Because DEJAPAN does not have business dealings with couriers like other proxies do, they are stuck paying grossly inflated consumer rates. I spent $70 USD to ship a small 0.67 kg box with a book, two CDs, and a PS2 disc in a thin poly sleeve via FedEx International Priority. Yes, I did pay roughly $30 more than the other courier methods. I didn’t have to; it was a choice. All of the other methods, including Japan Post, were still pricey.
Below is a list of what I could have chosen from:
Japan Post (EMS): 4460 yen
Japan Post (Airmail): 4200 yen
Japan Post (Surface): 2600 yen
FedEx International Priority: 10700 yen
UPS: 6310 yen
DHL: 6600 yen
After choosing FedEx and making my payment (2/5 JST), the status would never update past “Preparing Shipment” with no tracking number being added. I found out later (2/8 JST) that the package arrived unexpectedly and was signed for by a family member. I have no idea what went wrong, but I was left completely in the dark until the package arrived at my doorstep. I have a Delivery Manager account with FedEx, but it never appeared. This would have been a problem if no one happened to be present at my home, because I would have had no way to redirect the delivery.
With that out of the way, back to the good news. I was shocked to learn by entering the tracking number on the label that my package arrived in two days from Osaka to West Coast USA. That is the fastest international delivery I have ever received from Japan throughout all my years of importing.
The box was packed well and did not waste space. Kudos to the packing team! All of my items arrived as described.
I have a lot of respect for the support team. DEJAPAN’s customer service is so good that it feels almost personal rather than professional. Please keep up the good work!
Overall, I would use DEJAPAN again. Because I had a time-sensitive item included in my package that a friend paid me for, I paid extra for courier services that I really did not need otherwise. In the future, I will ship any orders through DEJAPAN via Surface.
Thank you to everyone at DEJAPAN for operating such an amazing service. Hopefully, I did not miss anything of importance in my review!

First time using DeJapan was last year, handled a pre-order for something. Totally straightforward and communication was very good, considering I had stupid questions as I don't use proxy services often. Using them again today, definitely my new go-to proxy service.

Ordered 5 volumes of manga. Packaging was decent and paid 700 yens in total as fees. Great price wise. Will use their service again. Wish they offer AVIA small option as well.

I rarely ever write reviews on sites like these, but as I truly appreciate Dejapan and all that they do, I felt super encouraged to give them a review. 🌻
I've been using Dejapan since 2016, and I can sincerely say that they're both a genuine and wonderful forwarding service. Their customer service is one of the best I've come across, and the fact that their standards in terms of efficiency, customer support, etc has not lowered -despite it being 7 years- says a lot, in my opinion.
They were actually the first JP proxy service I had ever tried, and I'm really glad & relieved I made the right choice by choosing them back then.
I also love how they seem to try their best to buy your items (especially/particularly ones on flea markets like Mercari, Rakuma Fril, etc) as soon as possible. I doubt I would've gotten some of the rarer items I currently have if they didn't purchase it as fast as they did.
In regards to shipping and packaging, I'm happy that so far all of my items have come packed neatly and safely, and I appreciate how incredibly quick shipping is for me too!
All in all, I highly, highly recommend using Dejapan. 😊💛 I truly appreciate them & each respective team, and all that they do. Because unlike a lot of services nowadays, they're honestly pretty hands-on with everything they do and that's truly a shining quality, in my personal opinion. 🌻

I think buy at least one item a week (・・;)
but I am very happy. (´ ∀ `)b I have so many cool and unique items (especially one off handmade clothing items and accessories) + rare plushies that have been on my wish list for a long long long time. my high school self would be very happy.
The staff have always been nice when I've gotten in contact with them with queries.
Unlike other sites I never have to worry about how long refunds or cancellations will take because as soon as an item is unavailable the money will go straight back into your bank account. which makes shopping way less stressful than usual.
Packing and shipping off parcels after 2nd payments are always fast! I use surface parcel so it's like christmas every month for me when my dejapan package arrives.

DEJAPAN is the forwarding service I have used for the past 3 years, and is the best one out there. I have used Buyee and fromJapan in the past and had issues with both services, not to mention higher fees. I have had no issues or complaints with DEJAPAN. They have low fees, timely response to emails, and do an excellent job with packaging orders. They recently overhauled their website and made searching for items on yahoo auctions much easier as well as showing similar items. I don’t see myself ever using a different forwarding service. Would highly recommend

I’ve used a number of proxy services to order items from Japan. DeJapan is head and shoulders above the rest. Their support staff are always very responsive and helpful. I’ve never been disappointed. They’re very up front about extra costs and offer many shipping options. The recent site upgrade has made shopping and ordering much more slick.

You always had to get in touch with them for them to include the cheaper shipping options under every single package because somehow they always forgot to add them as default options. And after Japan Post got rid of e-Packet, they completely refused to add any other small package options saying they did not provide insurance/tracking. However, Registered Mail and Air Small Package, both of which are still available at Japan Post's website, definitely do. I begged them to please allow me to ship via either of those even taking responsibility if the items were lost because my package was so small, but they completely refused to. So once I had to pay ¥3500 to ship a 300 grams package via EMS I realized I would never use them again. The lack of service fee does not make up for the differences in shipping. There are other better alternatives out there who still offer small package options, and thank goodness.

My understanding is irrelevant. The FACT is DeJapan fails to provide consumers with the relevant and accurate shipping information they need beforehand. The FACT is they wait until after their clients have purchased their goods before hitting them with offers only from the most expensive shipping services from the most expensive service providers. These FACTS alone were sufficient to make a case for misleading. These FACTS alone were sufficient to open an investigation into potential fraud. These FACTS alone were sufficient grounds to rescind the contact.
In the United States we don't rescind contracts so easily. Blaming myself, I made multiple attempts to pay. Fortunately, the transactions were rejected by their system. This gave me time to reflect. I needed more information so I could decide an appropriate course of action.
I requested information on the package sizes so I could compare their offers to other international shipping services.
Their unsolicited "explanation" of the price was just a parlor trick intended to mislead or deceive people who do not know how to interpret the numbers correctly. It's a technique called misdirection. It is just smoke-and-mirrors. They focus attention on certain information (volumetric weight), drawing attention away from the real information (shipping rates). By their logic, sea freight would be more expensive than express/courier services since the volumetric weight would be five times greater. In reality, LCL shipments from Japan to the United States likely range between $40 to $55 per cubic meter. My packages would normally have shipped port-to-port for around $20. The total door-to-door would have been around $130, an order of magnitude less than the $1100-1500 shipping they offered despite the volumetric weight being five times greater.
To aid in this deception they speak of DHL as if it was a single service with a single rate (the one they offer) rather than as a service provider offering a full range of services and rates.
They attempted to mislead or deceive me again. I called them on it. The majority of shipments from Japan are by sea for a reason. Japanese air freight is expensive. Japanese sea freight is inexpensive. It is rarely cost effective to ship by air from Japan. I explained that my parcel was just a standard LCL shipment. I couldn't justify the cost of shipping by air ($650+), much less by express/courier. That is, I saw no additional value to these services that would justify the additional cost. I requested they ship by DHL Ocean LCL rather than DHL Express. This is when they revealed they don't actually ship through DHL but through a third party.
They claimed they were contractually obligated to only offer FedEx and DHL express/courier services and not standard international shipping. For those who don't know, let me put it in simpler terms. They claimed they were contractually obligated to only provide the most expensive services from the most expensive service providers from a country where such services are already expensive in an economy where they are currently even more expensive. This is the real reason why their shipping prices are so high.
It is understandable why they choose not to inform consumers of this beforehand. Nevertheless, they do have a duty to inform. They also had an opportunity to inform me towards the beginning of the email exchange. But they chose to try to bs me.
More important is that they revealed information about their mental state.
They knowingly and willingly withhold vital shipping information from their clients until after they have purchased their goods. This allows them to hold their shipments hostage and demand above market rates for shipping. This is a form of extortion. I do not know their discount rates, but I suspect an investigation will reveal that they receive above market rates for their services as well.
There were other irregularities. But I had neither the time nor the patience to investigate them. I made my decision to rescind the contact. Rather than the usual 30-day clause to return my money, I informed them that I had asked my bank to reverse the charges and to open an investigation into fraud. I left the legal issues in my bank's capable hands. My part in the civil dispute ended when I sent that email. DeJapan did send an email after. But this was just face-saving. Even their apologies ring hollow; just more lies and deception.
Rationalization is a pillar of fraud. No fraud is a fraud in their own mind. Every fraud is fundamentally understood. I will leave it to investigators to determine whether or not a case can be made and to the courts to decide. Just be careful. It's not just DeJapan.

Not to pricy on any front, just know what you're getting into, shipping was a patient wait but nothing extreme,

I’ve been buying via DeJapan for the last four years and not only had my experience been excellent from the start, the company places a lot of effort in continuous improvement. In other words, my experience keeps getting better!
My most recent package was extremely impressive in the care they took in packing my parcel. As an avid record collector, I am extremely particular about records being stacked on top of each other (damages records). When I got my package, it had labels to ensure the box was upright so the records inside are standing. This company is not a record company but they took the time to learn and understand how certain items should be packed. 👍
Customer service is beyond responsive and friendly. Their fees are also better than other companies.
I very highly recommend this company. I have already converted some friends who used other services in the past and they are sticking with DeJapan!

I have been using DEJAPAN regularly since 2018 to order Books/CDs/DVDs/Blurays.
Overall, I find DEJAPAN to be quite professional and reasonably priced.
Pros
Easy to make Yahoo Auction bids.
Simple to make order requests.
Order requests fulfilled quite quickly.
Payments with PayPal or Credit Card.
Combined domestic shipping, where possible.
Free item storage extended to 45 days.
Strong box and sufficient packaging, even with free packing option.
Various shipping options, where possible, including surface/seamail.
Clearly printed shipping label.
Competitive service fees.
Prompt replies to questions.
Gradually improving their website.
Cons
Sometimes Yahoo Auction bids have to be placed manually.
Some limits on number of orders and items that can be combined.
Takes a couple of orders to fully understand their system.
Japan Rabbit gets lots of good reviews, but DEJAPAN is better in my opinion.
Therefore, DEJAPAN definitely deserves 5 stars and I recommended their service.

Honestly I'm seeing lots of negative reviews but mine was, for the most part, positive. Staff were very quick to bid on my order and it arrived to the warehouse very quick. Shipping was $40~ish and I was like WOW so I asked if there was anything they could do to make it cheaper. They are always so quick to reply BTW, and the reply I got was that since my package was under 2kg they could help me and use an ePacket or something like that which reduced shipping to $18. All in all very great customer service and was accommodating towards me. I will use this again. :)
