All's good that ends well!

While on holiday in Greece, I developed a toothache and needed to see a local dentist. The person on the Denplan helpline was very helpful and assured me that this would be covered by my plan. They sent me the relevant form I needed to fill in for the claim. It turned out that I needed a root canal, which required two appointments. On my return I submitted the claim form I had filled in on holiday to the Denplan office by (snail) mail. After I had not heard back for several weeks, I enquired with the Denplan helpline and was told to submit a copy of the claim form by email. (Luckily I had taken a photocopy of the original form and the dentist's bill before sending off the originals, so that I was able to scan the copies and submit them electronically). I'm happy to report that I received the payment from Denplan within a couple of weeks. The person on the Denplan helpline, as well as the person processing the claim were very helpful and efficient. All I would say is, try to avoid submitting your claim form via snail mail, as it could get lost in the mail.

Denplan is becoming too expensive

Denplan is becoming too expensive, I am paying over £200 for an hygienist and dental checkup which takes 30 mins per visit. I tried contacting the company and all you receive is an Al robot no person to person. I asked my dental practise how much to pay privately and it's half the price...it's a no trainer...bye bye Denplan your too greedy.

For our customers who have Denplan directly through their dentist it is our standard practice to direct them to discuss any concerns they may have with their dentist. This is because Denplan is a monthly budgeting scheme for which we act as an administrator, collecting your monthly payments and passing these to your registered dentist, whom your contract is with.

Therefore, if you would like to find out more information about your fees, I would suggest speaking to your dental practice who would be able to help you further.

Absolutely wonderful Service

Absolutely wonderful Service ! . I put in my claim on a Friday for treatment done abroad and by Monday my claim was approved and money received by Tuesday . Very happy indeed by Denplan . Thanks team 🙏

…Dental treatment in USA

I had to have treatment on a fractured tooth when I was on Holiday in USA.I contacted Denplan and was advised that I could go ahead and consult a Dentist locally,used the one my son visits.
I was sent a claim form immediately and when that form and the details of treatment were submitted the claim was dealt with the same afternoon.Great service.

Emergency dental treatment abroad

I needed emergency dental treatment whilst on holiday in Florida. Contacted Denplan who advised to find a local dentist and then claim (they emailed across a claim form). I submitted my claim on return home and received confirmation it had been approved the same day. Excellent and straightforward service.

Lots of problems registering

Unfortunately I have had to leave a bad review. Reason being, I have contact Denplan several times about issues with registering online. Still not resolved. Hopefully it will be soon.

’m really disappointed with my…

’m really disappointed with my experience. I took out Denplan insurance and, only a few months later, when I actually needed treatment, I was told it wasn’t covered. It turns out only a very limited list of treatments is included, and they wouldn’t cover a root canal or a crown. On top of that, there were numerous extra charges despite paying £47 per month. Overall, it felt like a complete rip-off. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. I have not been able to treat the tooth, as the additional charges were extortionate. I cancels my plan in August.

For our customers who have Denplan directly through their dentist it is our standard practice to direct them to discuss their treatments and what is covered by their policy with their dentist. This is because Denplan is a monthly budgeting scheme for which we act as an administrator, collecting your monthly payments and passing these to your registered dentist, whom your contract is with. What your policy covers you for is agreed by your dentist.

When a silly Denplan rule adds frustration to a painful situation

Member of Denplan, now a pre-requisite for my local dental practice and one I have used throughout adult life and several dentists. On a recent holiday to Spain a back molar I had a problem with split completely and I had a nasty infection for the last 3 days before returning to UK on Friday afternoon. My Dentist is closed Friday afternoon until Monday morning and doesn’t provide an emergency service, so I had to ring NHS and get an emergency appointment only available for the Saturday at a local paractice providing that service. I was seen and prescribed anti-biotics,a standard fee of £27.40 is charged for the consultancy. No surprise Denplan refused my claim on the ridiculous reason that the clinic I attended was within 40 miles of my own dentist! So having endured severe pain and discomfort for 4 days to add insult this ridiculous rule exempts me from claiming the cost of the emergency visit. Surely this is a rather silly rule when a patient needs urgent treatment they surely don’t have to extend their pain and injury to comply with a silly 40 mile rule?

I can confirm the emergency dental treatment benefit on the Denplan Supplementary Insurance plan, is intended for situations when patients are away from their registered practice, such as when they are on holiday. If a patient is seen within 40 miles of their registered practice, the claim does not meet the eligibility criteria for reimbursement under the Supplementary Insurance.

Although we hope you don’t find yourself in a similar situation in the future, I would like to take this opportunity to highlight our 24/7 Emergency Helpline team. If you are ever experiencing a dental emergency you can contact them on 0800 844 999 when you are in the UK and on +44 1962 844999 when you are overseas. They will be able to advise you on your cover and provide advice. If you are over 40 miles away from your registered practice in the UK, they can also help source an emergency appointment for you.

The benefit entitlements and terms of the policy should be clear to our customers at all times. Avoid Denplan There are better companies in these markets do your research first.

Avoid Denplan at all cost. Correct. Do your research first, their are better companies out there than Denplan, they have difficulty in communication with its clients.Read Denplan Trustpilot. and be enlighten of what this lot get up to. One star is tooooo good!! for them

You will notice if you call them, firstly talk to our voice mail answer phone, go on line, we will call you back!!!, anything but talk to a human. You the client. Read the Trustpoint review's for Denplan..Not good!! 17% very bad very bad !!
(As the USA boy Trump would say) LOL

I waited over 25 minutes for them to answer the phone.., If you want ping pong dentistry, this is the company for you. Most question to them are meet with, we suggest you talk with your dentist. and the dentist in turn says, best talk with Denplan. So both ends to the middle.
Make sure you get what you pay for, like a yearly
x-ray, which I think just gets forgotten about (saves money) this is where your teeth problems are picked up of course.before they start to ache!!!X Rays are very important even in 2025 !!! Don't let the dentist tell you otherwise!!

I have now changed my dentist, they picked up a problem straight away via the x-ray. my Denplan guy did not!! if your paying a lot of money make sure the dentist is doing his job properly.

Beware if you have a full set of teeth 32 or less, and you partner /wife has only 8 you will pay the same amount of money each month,which does not seem correct to me,

Keep an eye on the dentist and ask to see a new contract every year no matter what company your with. if you have teeth taken out why should you pay the same amount of money?? Ask more question of the dentist, why because their hiding behind Denplan.
My partner has stayed with them although they deleted us both for the payments scheme, That's efficacy for you. They told my dentist your both off the books, and told me just myself off the books.

Yet another phone call to put that right!!
They really can't be trusted to carry out the simplest of protcalls can they.

Research companies offering this service, along with the dentist of choice, ask question, make your money work for you, if you have health insurance see what that would add in cost to go that route.

I trust my thoughts' on the concept of private dentistry will be helpful to all WHO READ IT....

I've been a customer since 2019 and found their swift and kind service, website and care to be excellent. Most recently their agent Roshan did a superb job of sorting my membership transition from private to corporate.
