But I know I don't need it neither do you

I went on what I thought was the DVLA.GOV website to renew my driving licence which I am required to do as I am approaching 70 years of age. I thought it odd that they required my bank details as it is free of charge to do this, and was horrified to see that £89 has been taken from my account which, as a pensioner I simply cannot afford. I had no idea that I was NOT on the DVLA website. Big scam - Absolutely disgusting company.
DVLA or even the police need to get involved here and stop these scammers.

Beware, fraud company
They will make you online agree to subscription based service very cleverly, will not send any email or post for the same, no DD charge but they keep deducting money from your card directly. Very difficult to contact them to get a refund or cancel subscription.

This company have completely ripped me off. I applied for my nephew's provisional license thinking this is actually the right page they then got me too put he's passport number in which I thought was very odd. And then took. 34 pound. And then another 89 few days later I have now. Rang my bank and reported this company telling them there a scam. No emails or nothing too say it's getting processed. I will be taking this more further!!!!

Same situation as others on these reviews, my son applied for his licence then retracted it as decided to apply at a later date. Then £89 taken out as subscription ticked in error. Responses are prompt but no refund offered for the subscription, my sons part time wages gone by these stammers. Steer well clear, be warned!

Sheer dishonesty! Providing a service but they are applying "membership" charges from small print and without a breakdown of what they're doing hence the bad reviews.

In my opinion, this is fraudulent. I've cancelled my card, blocked payments and going to take this further.

Massive con! They do nothing but put your application to the dvla! They then charge you Subscription of 89 pounds on top of the money already taken. Dvla don't care either!

Faceless cowards that run this scam company. ‘Craig’ from customer services doesn’t answer phone calls, spineless crook. My 17 year old son sadly became a victim of this scam, and was charged £34 and £89 x 2 for nothing. These people have no shame they don’t care that they prey on vulnerable young people. I would love to meet faceless Craig so he explain how it’s ethical to steal from minors, but of course that won’t happen because they hide behind email and say it’s in their T&C’s.

My advice, avoid at all costs, just a much of crooks taking money under false pretences. There should be a law against this type of behaviour.

I have however just been issued with refunds on not only the £34 application fee (they never actually ordered the license) and the £89 subscription fee. The first thing to do is to cancel your subscription. There is a facility on their website if you can find it. Unfortunately trustpilot doesnt allow links in reviews :(

I was polite (as were they) but firm about the reasonable nature of my request (to be refunded for goods and service i never received) and their initially unreasonable offer of no refund. I was prepared to go to small claims court on this.

I thought I was on a DVLA website renewing my driving licence for £14. The have been taking £89 out of my account quarterly now owing me £267. I did not knowingly sign up to a subscription but they said it is in the terms & Conditions! Why isnt it by the box that you tick for the £14 because they know people would NOT sign up to it. Total Con. I dont even know what I have subscribed to. They have sent me no email correspondence just been taking quitely £89 out of my account, COMPLETE SCAM! They will not give me my money back as they have said it has been more than 3 months, I am so upset.

My son had lost his driving licence so we went onto what we believed was the DVLA website, showing a charge of £20 to replace it. This was in May 2023. Imagine my horror when I saw an additional £89 having been taken from my account and I then realised we'd accidentally used a third party site, very cleverly designed. I put it down to experience but now I find that we have 'subscribed' and they are going to take another £89 tomorrow, for what I don't know...they have refused to refund anything, read from a script, got annoyed when I pointed out they were reading from a script, so I'm going to hound them until they pay me back.

Get your bank to block LA. It doesn't stop LA taking another subscription but if they do, your bank is obliged to refund you.
Contact LA, ask them to cancel your subscription and refund £89. They cancelled the subscription quickly and politely but would not refund. I emailed them daily for a week. They sent several polite but scripted replies. I told them that I did not accept their explanations and would refer to Trading Standards. No response. I followed up saying that I had spoken to a lawyer and that they would be in touch later that day.
They refunded 2 x £89 the following day.

My 18 year old son applied for his provisional license and clicked on gov.uk website (my tech savvy partner was helping with his application and everything about this website looked exactly like the legit gov.uk pages!!)
Nowhere was it written that you were signing up to a subscription service.
Called 020 4579 0324 and spoke to a call centre who reeled off a load of script.
They offered a £60 refund which we declined demanding the full amount. Asked for this to be escalated and they said they would contact us within 24hours.
So we don’t have a conclusion yet unfortunately, but these people need stopping! My partner is always very aware of these sorts of scams and can’t believe it’s happened to us!
Contacted the bank to try and stop the pending payment, unfortunately they couldn’t stop the payment and their fraud dept weren’t exactly helpful either so having to figure it out for ourselves!

SCAM SCAM SCAM; 18 year old applied online at Gov.uk site and was redirected to this site; paid 44 pound for provisional then today a further payment if 89; reported to Action Fraud; DVLA; Bank; got number from this website they offered refund 89 and 34 wanted 10 for admin. Phoned Action Fraud back gave them emails and details of company. Have also made report to trade and standards; completely unscrupulous. AVOID - Indian call centre...

Just found out they took £89 from my account after doing my son’s provisional. We also clicked on the gov page so not sure what happened:(

My daughter was caught out by this company too. It really is disgusting that they take advantage of excited 17 year olds, falling for a convincing rip off website on their birthdays. That aside, don’t dismay! You can get your money back. My daughter noticed the first £89 payment was taken from her bank account and so we called the bank immediately and stopped any further payments. We were informed it’s not a scam, but rather a third party company - which turns out stands you in better stead for getting the money back. The bank gave us the number to call- 0204 5251110 (which you will find in the confirmation email). We called and initially they tried to palm us off, then offered £60 back (after we made an mega fuss). We turned this down and were told that the case would be referred to the Compliance Officer. Shortly after this conversation (within 20 mins) we had received an email confirming the £89 would be returned - which it was within 24 hours. The only caveat I will say is that we are currently away and so we don’t know if and when the provisional licence has/will be received, but that’s an hurdle we will cross when we are home and I’d rather lose £30 odd than an indefinite number of £89. This is a scam, you think your are paying a fee for driving licence renewal, however you are being scammed of hundreds of pounds for a no good reason. Once they fraudulently obtain your bank details they debit your account every quarter without you knowing and without any provided product.

Help! I have had 3 payments out of my account for £39 I do not have any correspondence and don’t know what it’s for it just say License Assistance in the transactions one in may then June now July . It’s not a bank I use for dd or standing orders so I don’t normally check often 😩 does anyone know who they are or have a number I’m calling the bank tomorrow as it 11 pm and it’s shut . It’s not in my dd list etc I’m flipping fuming
