Beware!! Tried to sell a pup as he isnot getting along with my other dog. Paid for the advert. Its illegal to rehome underage pups so they removed the ad. No refund. Link to customer service sent to my email says link is broken. The phone number is out of use that they give to paypal for payment perposes. Avoid at all costs!!

Zero customer service when I asked for help. Zero monitoring it seems.

I have been selling for years and have had some good experiences with great buyers who have been nice, polite and reliable. But sadly I am loosing patience with it now. I have a 50 per cent success rate at best with whatever I am selling. The respondents at times are the absolute dregs. No shows happen regularly - and how can you give them a bad review when they have your address? No one has ever apologised and said they aren’t coming to pick up. You are just left hanging. I have recently listed 5 household items all in great condition and genuine bargains but I just can’t deal with all the rudeness and idiocy any more. I think I need to pull the ads and denote them to charity instead. Life is too short to waste time with lying fools on Gumtree.

I have now on numerous occasions tried to place an add to have it removed straight away. They keep messing with their system which in turn stops people from placing legit adds.
Then get there technical staff to reset my account and its up and running again. There is something radically wrong. THIS HAS HAPPEN TO ME OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS AND NOW ITS EVEN HARDER TO EMAIL THEM WITH TECHNICAL PROBLEMS

gumtree are crooks they took my money to advertise my pickup. i could not fined the Ad so i upgraded to featured cost £30 still could not fined my Ad. i put all my details in correctly it said 0 results for this vehicle sorry ? customer service cut you of if you complain. I want my money back .you scammers

Fake site that needs to be investigated. GUMTREE WILL TAKE PAYMENT FOR AN AD, NOT POST IT AND WILL NOT REFUND U.. WORSE OF ALL THEY WILL NOT REPLY TO U. STAY AWAY.. I WILL DO EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE ON WATCHDOG..BELIEVE ME GUMTREE WATCH U REVENE DROP IN 26

I can see I've received a reply to my PAID ad, but I cannot see the reply. I replied asking them to repost and my message disappeared into the void. I didn't get an email notifying me that I had received a message and when I raised the issue in chat they said the'd send me an email and disconnected and that was it. I'm FUMING. The ad is time sensitive. I have someone interested who will not doubt have found someone else by the time Gum Tree sort this out and am back in chat for the last half an hour being told "an agent is on the way"

Having used it for many many years I'm becoming increasingly disappointed with the website which is so clunky and slow. It doesn't matter whether I'm on my phone network,work laptop, personal laptop and using Wi-Fi. the experience is so frustrating

Following a subject access request Gumtree deleted all of my previously stored messages and effectively suspended my account by denying access to either send or receive messages on their platform.
Despite repeated emails and making a formal complaint (which has yet to be acknowledged) I’ve had no contact and no resolution to the original messaging issue They are appalling!

Over several occasions, I have used the Gumtree platform and paid extra to promote my advertisement. However, I have repeatedly received inquiries asking whether my item is still available. Each time I reply affirmatively, there is no further response.

Based on these experiences, I am highly concerned that some of these inquiries may be generated by the Gumtree platform Ai itself to create the impression of buyer interest. If this is the case, it would be misleading and unethical, as it appears designed to encourage users to spend more money on promotions.

In my opinion, such practices raise serious concerns about the Gumtree platform’s credibility and transparency.

Looks like Gumtree following Ebay and "messing about"with scheduling seller payments and also wanting to charge "Buyer Protection" fees.Thats if I read their email correctly.They should learn a lesson from Ebay who lost thousands of Ebayers through tampering with rules.If something works OK,don't try to fix it.!!!

Gumtree - the only place where I use a full fake name on my account due to past circumstances/buyers.
Over the past week I have received a barrage of spam emails and phishing emails calling me by this fake name and sent straight to my main email address. The ONLY way I am getting called by this fake name in these emails is if Gumtree has sold my details/information to third party companies. I will now be trying to remove all of my data from their database but sadly it looks like the damage is already done.

I have paid to place a featured ad about my Rib Boat last night, and today It is nowhere to be found. The customer service person was showing me what I could see from My Gumtree,but when friends and family searched independently on other devices no one could see my ad too. Gumtree kept telling me to clear your cache,and try using a different browser to Google. I think this is a plan to up sell me and many thousands of others. They are totally out of order.Dont use them.They are totally crap and charlatans and I am wanting my money back now !

I used to love Gumtree and posted, and sold, hundreds of items. In recent years it's an absolute waste of time and I use eBay instead .

Whoever is in charge is completely missing the point of why people used it. I have no interest in reviewing seller or buyers. Whoever thought that was a good idea?

Nor do I want endless messages from Gumtree trying to promote itself. I only want to hear from sellers or buyers.

So sadly after many years of loyalty to and good service from Gumtree I've given up and I'll use eBay from now on.

Listed my car on Gumtree and got barely 200 views in a whole week — not a single enquiry. Put the same ad on Facebook Marketplace and got over 1,200 views and more than 10 messages in the same time, all for free! Gumtree just doesn’t get the traffic anymore. Don’t waste your time.

do not feel this site is safe,staff never get back to you just do not feel it is safe

I posted an advert on gumtree they removed me in minutes took my £40 and emailed me restricted account no reason whatsoever was given on why the account was restricted. Happy to take the money. Restricted account no reason given every poor customer service. What a rubbish and disgusting robbing site all they are is after your money

I posted an ad to sell by bike on here, and paid £2.99 extra to "spotlight" the ad for 7-days, in the hopes it will gain better visibility on the website. It doesn't work.

I tried searching "Gazelle bike" on other devices and browsers and the ad only appears either on page two of the search results or at the bottom of page one. And the ad disappears altogether when filtered by 'most recent first'!

I contacted the customer service team twice via their chat function, and each time the agent ended the chat abruptly and didn't help at all. And even though there is "Save Chat" button at the end, there is actually no way to save the transcription of the chat. Something is clearly broken at Gumtree HQ.

A waste of money. If you're going to use Gumtree, don't bother paying extra. It does nothing.

⚠️gumtree sharing your dater to other parties and i will take them to legal charges to answer the questions why with out my concerns my permission they using my dater to Google or Facebook this is fraud.. this page its fraug like vinted and others people be careful and take them to the legal complaint team they leek our information to other parties.!! 😡

Absolutely disgraceful! Took my money and removed my ad straightaway, with no specific reason , my ad has not broken none of the policies !! And no way of contacting !

platform is working, but is so full of nasty bugs (especially about notifications and account settings) that they seem unable to fix, for years now!
