MY Daughter bought a car , she's only young and spent her savings on it . The engine light came on on the way home so she took it to a garage for service. They are an MOT station , who said it was a write off and had been in an accident. The Seller has blocked us and was fake. Gumtree won't give us details of the sellar and assist., Just said it was a police matter. You are the platform that sells dangerous cars with no recourse.

Beware of gumtree they are a scam
I added a post for a thai massage and they removed ad with in minutes, no problem with that, but they take my money of £39.99 out of my bank account next day and are refusing to refund my money bank. So be careful definitely a scam

I no longer have access to the email that I used to open my account 14 years ago and Gumtree won't allow I use the new one.
So, make sure you never have your email compromised or you will no longer be able to use Gumtree profile again.

What’s going on with Gumtree? Every time my messages seller I don’t get a reply.

I’ve been a Gumtree account holder for over 11 years with a completely positive track record, but my recent experience has left me extremely disappointed.
A buyer enquired about an item I was selling and made me a low offer, which I politely declined. No sale ever took place. Despite this, Gumtree automatically sent them an invitation to leave feedback — and they chose to leave me a negative review simply because I wouldn’t agree to their price.
I raised this with Gumtree customer support, but the representative was completely unhelpful. They told me nothing could be done, even though the feedback was clearly not based on an actual transaction. This policy is unfair, damaging to genuine sellers, and completely undermines the value of the feedback system.
After over a decade of positive selling on Gumtree, it’s disappointing to see how little support honest sellers receive. Unless Gumtree addresses this flaw, I can’t recommend the platform to other sellers.

Used Gumtree for years but recently posted an ad that wasn’t approved, I tried to email them on multiple occasions to ask for a refund on the ad fee as it was never posted but never heard back, their “live” chat also seems to be unavailable 24/7.

I don’t think it should be legal for a huge platform to have no customer service and yet seeing it all too often lately.

Will delete the app and stick to eBay from now on.

How many times does one have to fail reset their passwords?

Password saved already here on my PC yet fails on sign in and after trying to reset it also fails to acknowledge reset.

This is the third time this has occurred therefore the fault is clearly not me nor microsoft but theirs Forest Gumtree

It is full of scammers wanting you to post the item and they transfer to Paupal.

I have been using gumtree for years to advertise job roles. Today I have been having issues and the customer service is atrocious. The worker was unable to help, she kept referring to sending instructions via email on how to fix the problem. When she finally agreed the matter needed escalating I asked what would happen and she said she would send instructions through via the email. No longer can operate advertising jobs, trying to run a buisness with a company that are so vague and uninterested

Listed items and received several harassing and scam messages from people. I reported these and absolutely nothing has been done. I certainly don’t consider this to be a safe site to sell from and definitely will not be listing anything in the future. I was also charged over £10 to list despite it supposedly being a free site.

Reported scam, 3 days no reply. Friendly over the phone send them all the necessary documentation, NOTHING!! The person still operates freely and has an active account for 9 YEARS? HOW?

They didn't check out a seller properly, so indirectly I bought an Amstaff for £150. The seller refused to take him back. I had to hand the dog to the police because he was too big for me to handle. The seller rushed away after I'd handed over the money. He'd been advertised as a staffy cross. Before I knew he was a banned breed, I tried to rehome him back onto Gumtree. They refused my ad. They haven't paid me my almost £12 for the ad, though I've asked for it back, because they'd refused my ad. Not only did they sell me a banned breed dog, they are ignoring my request for a refund of £12.I made the mistake of the seller bringing him to me and I handed over the money before seeing him. I'm a pensioner and I can't handle a massive dog. The police said they'll probably have to put him down. He's not 2 years old until October. I'm totally distraught because of thinking a beautiful puppy will be put to sleep because of my actions of not checking him first. But Gumtree should have checked the seller also. Gumtree are ignoring my emails.

Ok people's, Please note if used correctly this platform is one hell of a great King of recycling goods. Be it buying or selling if done right works a dream. I disagree with all the one stars which are not correctly reviewed ( my view)

Selling my car on their site in Perth. Paid for their tier 2 exposure pack and my car which I have listed very cheap and is very common has only had 57 views in 3 days over the weekend in a city of 2.5million I would get more views parking it on the corner with a sign on it, absolute waste of time and money

I had my account restricted when an impatient buyer opened a case against an undelivered item while it was still in transit. Subsequently when he opened a case with PayPal he refused to close it upon receipt of item and I had to refund him the full amount regardless.
When I contacted help desk to explain my case they vaguely told me my adverts of old bric a brac and childhood toys to be paid for via cash on collect or insured PayPal was in violation of their policies and my account would not be reinstated.
Not very helpful.

Gumtree advert for a dining table (where the meal is served and drops to the floor) is so juvenile, and does not credit its audience with any sense whatsoever!

2.1 score for Gumtree? That says it all. I'm surprised they're still trading....it's a dinosaur now, surpassed by Facebook Market, Vinted and others - who can actually get the selling experience right. I hope Gumtree management will be sacked soon. I list ads, my account says they are live - but they never are. No messages, or communication as to why I can't post. Just use FB Market place or Vinted. Just not Gumtree or eBay.

99.8% time wasters

Basically you list stuff, even for free and you get a flood of enquiries.
You agree price and pick up time. You set your day around that AND THEY NEVER TURN UP.

TIME AND TIME AGAIN!

Not Gumtree's fault but I advertised a TV for free and had several responses mostly of the 'It is still available?' type? I thought it was going to be easy to get rid of the TV but not one of these idiots ever collected it. I'm perplexed about why people do this.

I put an advert on. It’s been on 3 weeks.
I updated the advert today with new pictures & it was deleted saying it goes against the rules.
Nothing changed apart from updated pictures
No refund or exclamation why
