I received excellent service
I received excellent service in Halfords today. I was there for a winter check. Ben,the service manager was so helpful.I am a pensioner and widowed so don’t know much about cars! Nothing was too much trouble , he even gave me a card with his work phone number and said if there was anything I needed advice on to phone.
Halfords - useless
Halfords - Dartford do not trust these so called experts with your car or bike had a tyre replaced and damaged the alloy wheel. Purchased a mountain bike for step son’s birthday and second time of riding it the back wheel falls off and hurts himself. Took it back to dartford store where it was built and to be met with a smug cocky arrogant person who actually accused us of making the wheel loose on purpose, like yea I’m going to loosen this wheel and let him ride it.
I was absolutely appalled and find it utterly disgusting how a member of staff would accuse us of doing it on purpose and trying to pass the blame. Whilst his fixing the back wheel he checks on the front wheel and surprise surprise guess what the front wheel is loose as well. Seriously what kind of untrained incompetent staff work at this place not a gcse between them. Avoid this place

Used Halfords last November for All Weather Tyres, they fitted summer tyres. Had no reason to think I had the wrong ones until my mechanic took the car for its MOT. Went to customer service who have said tyres I have are what was ordered and due to time lapse washing there hands of it. Absolutely disgusting, who puts summer tyres on in November?! My receipt has the brand of tyre no where does it say summer tyres. This is just the start Halfords, I am not stopping here until you agree to exchanging the tyres for the correct ones! Best you reply to me now!

I booked online when I arrived the staff where arrogant and very un helpful
MOT failed so I had the work done else where as they couldn’t do it straight away took the car back for a re test that takes 5 mins. And was told there policy was to leave the car all day again and wait. By a very ignorant two members of staff. I don’t think I would ever go back to them again.

Halfords shop Eastbourne had a problem with the gears on my bicycle what I bought from that branch previously. Booked in to be checked what the problem was ? Justin in the bicycle department was absolutely brilliant amazing customer service and couldn’t do enough to go out his way. Give Justin a pay rise! Amazing and professional service from Justin thank you keep up the amazing work.

Pathetic customer services. I did a full diagnostics test for my car and they just give me a report for only tyre check & wiper. All other work done was not included in the report and when I asked for it they just got rude & didn’t entertained my queries.

a truly shocking store. we went to purchase a bike, upon collecting it the bike they promised had several issues they couldn't be bothered to fix claiming nobody knew or passed on the messages to staff in store so we trekked back to return the bike and they simply shrugged there shoulders like what do you want to us to do.
they then offered to obtain the same bike from another store and they would call us.. of course nobody called us for days on end.
I tried calling.. they do not answer the phone instore, it took for days and 31 attempts for the store to pick up. there own call centres couldn't get through either. the store is evasive in every manner. managers on holiday, short staffed etc all I can say every time I have been into store there is never more than 2 or 3 customers..
so after much hassle we opted for a full refund which they refused to do unless we travelled down to the store.
why should we have to travel there for a 3rd time at our expense ??
we have requested an area manager to call us but we will not hold our breath as this companies customer service is nothing short of a disgrace .AVOID HALFORDS IF POSSIBLE.
I for one will never shop with them again.

Completely waste of time and money! 😡 I booked my EV for a full service and the health report check was very poor in information. I doubt the check was done properly as they gave me the car with a punch in my tire, which they could see? Their excuse: it was not visible (look how professional they are that they couldn't see a 3x3 mm punch in my tire!). Trying to find excuses for their mistake. The worst garage ever, and not preoccupied with the safety of the client, as when I rang them about it, their opinion was that: I'M COMPLAINING FOR NOTHING! 😠

I am leaving this one-star review to report a deeply disturbing and antisemitic incident I experienced at the Halfords in Ballymena.
On the 17th of August, at approximately 3 pm, I was in the store waiting for a purchase to be installed. As an observant Jewish person, wearing my kippah, I was utterly horrified to hear an employee, who was working on a silver Hyundai SUV just outside, singing "Throw the Jew down the well".
This was not a misunderstanding; it was a brazen and unacceptable antisemitic attack in broad daylight at a place of business.
When I confronted the employee and his colleague to ask if it was all Jews they were planning on throwing down the well, they simply muttered a response and offered no apology whatsoever.
I am outraged that this is the kind of behaviour that staff feel comfortable displaying while on the job. I am considering reporting the incident to the Police and all relevant statutory bodies. Management needs to provide answers as to how this disgraceful antisemitic act could possibly be seen as acceptable within their store.
I await a response and to learn what subsequent actions will be taken. Other customers deserve to know what kind of culture is being tolerated here.
Battery failed in less than a month
Battery failed in less than a month. Impossible to get through to customer service so the guarantee in meaningless. Had to arrange call out for a car that wouldn't start and pay for a new battery.
My Son bought an e scooter for over…
My Son bought an e scooter for over £350 and less than 3 weeks later the scooter just stopped dnd threw him into a concrete slab cracking ribs and cutting his head n hands. Attended Harlow hospital.
We brought the scooter back to store in Harlow , the manager was so rude and unconcerned looked at the code on the bike and said nothing to do with us it’s under warranty and to contact Pure.
Couldn’t find details on the web site and after a fashion a young lady working there said she had it saved in her own phone as another customer the previous week had the same problem.
We Emailed pure and had no response so today on Tuesday 26th August after numerous calls to head office was advised to again take the scooter to store.
The manager was very unhelpful and kept saying you need to contact pure and follow procedure …he had his camera on and am so glad he did …as I will be requesting this footage through the FOI request procedure.
After contacting Rabia at customer service I was told a request for a refund has been started …the manager said he refused a refund
After ringing again I was told to leave the scooter and a refund will be issued or a new scooter will be sourced from another branch and again was told someone will ring back …no one did do I rang again
The call assistant lady said the manager has reported that the scooter was crashed??? Stating it’s not under warranty after 3 weeks …and that we were rude not the case at all ..the manager was the rude one ignoring our talk and repeating “follow the procedure”continuously talking to us like we were idiots.
I just wanted a refund or a replacement scooter but he categorically told us no and refused to give me a receipt for the damaged scooter until I rang head office once again !!!
No apology about my son being thrown into a concrete slab and he actually said my son shouldn’t have been riding it in public place ….he doesn’t know where my son was riding it …it was categorically on private land .
How dare the manager be able to report lies …
So as it stands my scooter is in Harlow Halfords so I have no goods and no refund …
Disgusting customer service from start to finish the manager only had to help arrange collection from pure but no was very ignorant and unhelpful obv very unhappy in his stressful job
I always go to letchworth branch where staff are lovely and never ever had a problem but my son used this store at Harlow .
People beware buying a product under warranty from here they will attempt to not help you after you have parted with your money and try to pass the buck
My contract was with Halfords and this is the company that took our money …

Manchester, the White City. Service and sales are a joke and a disgrace to management's incompetence. Goods ordered according to specifications are exchanged for others. The specifications and price don't match. To management, A5/B5 oil is the same as C2/C3. The word "sorry" doesn't change the fact of incompetence. This isn't the first time Halfords has been indifferent to what they sell. You disrespect the customer. You should be punished for your ignorance and carelessness. Send store staff to learn to read. A is not C and 5 is not 3. I will be copying information about the terrible service and incompetence of Halfords employees. I'm not interested in apologies, and we work hard... you empty words mean nothing to Halfords.
Twice Upsold in Less Than a Month – Poor Service at Halfords / National Tyres Altrincham
I’ve now had two separate experiences of upselling at Halfords / National Tyres in Altrincham, Manchester:
1. Major Service + 1 Tyre Replacement
Along with the service, I was billed for several extras: extended tyre warranty, wheel balance, 4-wheel alignment, oil flush, and tyre rotation.
2. Return Visit for Radiator Replacement
Just weeks later, a radiator leak (which wasn’t picked up in the major service) forced me back. On top of the radiator replacement, I was charged again for another 4-wheel alignment — supposedly because the suspension was disturbed. But radiator replacement on a Hyundai i40 does not normally involve suspension removal.
When I escalated via Halfords’ complaints procedure, I expected an independent review. Instead, the complaint was routed back to the same store, which simply repeated that the charges were correct. The case was then closed with no proper justification.
This feels like systematic upselling and poor accountability. Being charged for multiple unnecessary add-ons, and then again after their service missed a fault, is unacceptable.
