The software sucks........customer service is almost 2 hour delay everytime you call. Nothing gets fixed ..all I can say is get a good lawyer if you sign up for this system.

System is easy to navigate

Our world is full of technical equipment that makes all of us, at one time or another, feel crazy. Harbor Touch support has bailed my team out numerous times while creating a training atmosphere.

Satisfied with system so far. Looking forward, and hoping for, easier ways to integrate text message confirmations. Would also suggest making the online log in for our employees to check their schedules and add appointments from their phones to be more user friendly. All of our employees have mentioned how difficult it is for them to use. Customer Service has been great to work with, prompt and helpful so far. Overall, I would recommend to other business owners, just really hoping those improvements are on their way.

system is slow and freezes.

Over all I like HT but there issues with speed and system freezes. But tech is always available to help, so I would have to recommend. Need to work on the remote reporting aspect of the system as many of us work off sight.

Hoping for Change

We are in the restaurant industry. Extensive programming for our menu. 85% of business is Credit Card. We are very high volume. We have had a lot of issues with disappearing checks and no resolution as to why. Wait times are long for assistance.

It's all about support

All in all I think Harbortouch is a good product. Being a restaurant POS I think it important that you adequately staff your night and weekend support crew. The only thing worse than a system failure, is losing the manager from the floor during system failure because they are stuck on perma-hold with the POS company. Unfortunately this has happened to us on several occasions. It is the number 1 complaint from managers and needs to be addressed.
To stay competitive you need good program writers who can write software to address specific needs.
Lighthouse needs to work efficiently. We have had several occasions where something seems to just disappear and nobody can really understand what happened and we have not been able to with 100% confidence get resolution.

It is great but needs a little work.

I like the system but I wish some of the reports were available in the back of the house. There is sometimes trouble logging in at the back of the house and "the brain" to pull reports as well. All in all a good system.

Highly Unreliable, Unacceptable

I signed up with HarborTouch a couple of years ago into a 5 year contract. Being that this was my first POS system for my business, I thought a longer term meant that I was signing a lease with a very reputable company. I really thought wrong! First off, the system I was given was outdated to begin with, as I learned over one of many calls to support. We had issues for over 1 year, I was calling Harbortouch every day at one point. But, the technical support always found the issue seemed to be "internet issues" on my end. The system would freeze, lose connection to the brain multiple times throughout the day, our data only synced to Lighthouse daily if I was lucky, along with various other issues. And when my company's data was in Lighthouse, it was very very very slow. Running a single report could take 5 mins alone. When it did work, this system was great, but that was only 5% of the time. Never once did they send support to our location, never once did they replace the system or even try to make it better for us. Instead, we were always told to reboot.. which we all know that this action only temporarily fixes the problem.

I finally got smart and found a new POS company, Clover. They are amazing, I have never had an "internet" issue with the Clover system. No issues at all! Yet, Harbortouch always claimed it was our fault. When Harbortouch matures as a point of sales company, they should go study what Clover did.

Customer service does not have an internal review division to look at extreme cases like mine. I shouldn't have to pay an outrageous termination fee (which is the lease fee per system, for the number of months left in your lease). For me, this is going to cost me $5000. Lesson learned! I shouldn't have to pay when this is not my fault. My business simply cannot run on a faulty system. This is the core point of my business. I would not have looked for a new POS company if Harbortouch provided a good, reliable system as they advertise. Slowly, they will lose all their customers if they don't change this. A summary of all my issues:

-Freezing screen
-Losing connection to internet
-Lighthouse doesn't sync or has your data online when needed
-System is slow
-System I got was outdated
-Didn't support EMV on time
-No customer service department review

Harbortouch is unacceptable. Be smart and find a different company.

Don't waste your precious time having to talk to Harbortouch when you could be spending your time growing your business.

LEGAL ROBBERY!! A lot of lip POOR service.

Don't put your company in danger of being robbed monthly. HARBORTOUCH employees will not do their jobs. A lot of lip of what you should do however once you do whatever they request you do they do not follow up to complete the job. They will monthly take your money. After four (4) attempts. I am on my way to court. The amount due my business is now over $500.00. They are still taking monthly deductions after forms have been mailed and many phone calls.

The intuitive interface has tremendously reduced the number of errors previously made by our staff. We are processing more accurately and faster than we ever have before!

extremely helpful staff, they always go above and beyond to help us on the phone. POS system is a life saver, it has helped me run my business more efficiently and it helps me keep a better eye on my employees and day to day operations.
COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT IT.

Club Northern Pizzeria and Grill

We are a small family restaraunt in rural Wisconsin. We have had the Harbortouch system for 6 months now and love it. I did come from a background of using POS systems so I was somewhat knowledgable about their functionality, benefits and frustrations: but this system is the most user friendly I have ever used. From the start Ross sat with my wife and I with a live demo system to explain how everything works, installation process, report functions and payment options/fees/processing. Charlie kept us up to date on writing our software for our menu and working out pricing structure. When we were ready to get started, installation and training for my staff happened on the same day: the majority of my staff was nervous because they had only worked with our old manual cash register and order tickets, but everything went very well - Charlie explained the process completely and had each employee try the system while he supervised their progress until they were comfortable. My staff can not live without the system now - we did have to go back to our manual system for one day due to a third party software glitch and it was a ruff day indeed. But Harbortouch worked around the clock to fix the problem, kept me updated through emails as to what had happened, progress they were making and final fix. My staff and I have been extremely happy with this system - great service, fair pricing, and great tech support (when we couldn't figure it out on our own). Thanks Tom Morris
