How about you treat your patients with…
How about you treat your patients with compassion?
I’m just disappointed!!!!!
My partner has CT-confirmed Silent Sinus Syndrome with enophthalmos and progressive eye recession. He has started experiencing double vision!
Despite these symptoms, Kaiser has scheduled his surgery for February 2027, I’m writing this on Nov 02!
Waiting for months when his vision and eye position continue to deteriorate is absolute hell and dangerous!
Kaiser is a money-making, insurance-owned joke! Patients deserve a proper care, not this level of negligence!!!!!!!!!!

I was in the ER in Walnut Creek like seven hours on Saturday. The doctor the staff, nurses were all so helpful nice caring, so many test just to see what was wrong. Luckily it wasn’t to serious. So again thank you for all the help. Keep up the good work.

"KP seledom misses an opportunity to…
"KP seledom misses an opportunity to obstruct my healthcare." Should be the motto. They reflexly deny many drugs and procedures, even generic prescription meds I had been taking for 20 years. They repeatedly blocked my cancer treatment, even though they did not dispute the medical findings and treatment plan. Impossible to get a care manager; I've tried at least a dozen time. I'd get surveys asking how I liked my session with Care manager, even though I had never had a talk with a KP care manager; phantom care manager. KP denies treatment because they don't like to use contractor facilities, but won't find an alternative. I've had to pay $$$$ out-of-pocket because KP would not approve any facility for my cancer treatment, even though all docs were referred by my PCP. It was either pay for the procedure out of pocket or risk death.
KP might be a bargain if you live near Oakland and you are certain you will only need routine preventative services and willing to die or pay full freight out of pocket if you're wrong.
I routinely ask providers' administrators about dealing with KP. The most common response is "they are insane".
Kaiser is terrible
Kaiser is terrible. They are withholding my medication and they are harassing me about a routine screening. They make you jump through hoops just to get medication refills. One doctor performed the wrong surgery on me and in their mental health department, another doctor verbally abused me on more than one occasion. Unfortunately, there is more but I think you get the point. They are a despicable excuse for "health care".
Kaiser is HORRIBLE
Kaiser is HORRIBLE! I only have them because my employer uses them. I Can't get the meds I need. I have trouble contacting anyone or the pharmacy in my case. Customer service is P**s poor. My experience with their doctor network is bad. I guess they only partner with crappy doc offices.
I hope to God my employer does not renew with them. WORST I have ever seen.
Emergency department
You to go to the ER for a medical emergency but that medical emergency isn’t an emergency for ER staff of KP. So what’s the point of even going to an Emergency room if you have to wait 3-4+ hours to be seen by a doctor? This is weird and dumb at the same time
total failure of the system
total failure of the system. trying to get healthcare that I need there. it's impossible.
Lack of coordinated health care at KP
Although individual doctors may be good, there is a lack of coordination and communication among specialists for complex health issues. Having all under one roof, one would expect better outcome but that is not the norm. Referrals take time, often much longer than situation demands.
What a terrible insurance company
What a terrible insurance company, over a year ago I had a severe fall and went to the hospital and was admitted for a few illnesses and before it was time for me to go Kaiser discharged me and the Hospital knowing I wasn't ready to be discharged me kept me under there care, after 6 weeks in the Hospital I went to physical therapy and after only 2 weeks of therapy Kaiser discharged me because I wasn't making progress and I appeal the discharge and Medicare view in my favor and I was able to continue getting physical therapy but after 4 days they discharge me again and I appeal once again and again won and after a few days Kaiser discharged me again and after gaining a little bit more of my strength the physical therapy department could no longer help me and being discharged before it was time,I went home only to fall and went back into the Hospital, Kaiser is a poor choice for health coverage.
Mail order pharmacy is severely lacking…
Mail order pharmacy is severely lacking these past few months.
Prior you could order medications on line and within 3-4 days the meds were at your door. NOW you risk not even receiving your medication if you order on through their app. If there is a problem there is NO FOLLOW-UP. If you call directly and get to speak to a person that speaks clear English same thing. I have had Kaiser on and off (due to employment) for decades. This is the worst I have seen it.
Not for elderly
My elder mother had a fall, she was sent to get X-rays on a Friday. We are still waiting for results on Wednesday the following week! We are in Hawaii and only have a clinic that is Open Monday-Friday 8-5
Some of the Doctors are excellent, but they have no appointments available. It takes weeks if not months to see one. The whole KP system has gotten so bad in the last few years! It’s costing more for less, no specialty care on island, not able to get in with your primary care doctor, and if you call after hours they tell you to go to the overcrowded emergency room.
Unfortunately, it’s becoming unsafe for the members in Hawaii.
If you need health care don't use Kaiser
I have a rare condition, the only treatment is a surgery. Kaiser is insisting I have this surgery with a surgeon who has never done this surgery. The surgeon himself told me that he has never done it, that it's extremely dangerous and that I should reconsider surgery.
I have filed 3 grievances, all denied, all with the same statement, Dr Whoever, is qualified. End of their story. For reference I'm 70, on a HMO plan as a medicare advantage. I have been a patient of Kaiser for over 30 years, in those years I have never been seriously ill until this past December. Kaiser is fine if you're healthy but God help you if you need anything beyond having a cold
My Experience Working in Customer…
**My Experience Working in Customer Service**
The pay and benefits are really the only positives I can speak to regarding this organization. Outside of that, my experience has been extremely frustrating.
You are told you are being hired to support a specific region, but in reality, you may end up working primarily with California members and rarely, if ever, speaking with members from the region you were hired for. The workload is extremely demanding, and there is very little understanding or support from management. In my experience, many managers have never worked in the position themselves, which makes it difficult for them to understand the workload and challenges employees deal with every day.
The attendance and point system is another major issue. It feels as though you can receive a point for almost anything. Being only two minutes late can result in a point, and calling out can result in two points. Employees are limited to eight points before being moved to a Level 2 status and reported to HR. There is also no same-day PTO, and many policies and expectations appear to be based around California operations, regardless of where you are actually working.
Training is also extremely strict. Missing any training days can result in termination or having to be completely rescheduled. The hours and expectations are not necessarily what you would expect based on what you find online about Kaiser Permanente's operating hours because much of the work is structured around California.
Employees are constantly expected to use their available resources before asking for assistance. You are expected to go through the toolbox and other resources before reaching out for help, even when those resources don't always provide the answer you need. Getting meaningful assistance can be difficult.
The technology and systems are another major problem. Something seems to malfunction almost every day, which makes an already demanding job even more stressful.
There is also a strong emphasis on "work avoidance." Employees are expected to transfer or connect members appropriately, yet there can be situations where other departments or higher tiers appear reluctant to accept those calls. This can leave customer service representatives caught in the middle.
Customer service representatives are expected to know and handle an enormous range of issues, including **billing, claims, benefits, payments, technical issues, and general member concerns**. You essentially have to become knowledgeable about every aspect of the member's experience while still being held to strict performance and attendance expectations.
Overall, I would strongly encourage anyone considering this position to fully understand what the job actually entails before accepting it. **The pay and benefits may be appealing, but the workload, attendance policies, management structure, systems, and overall expectations can make the job extremely difficult.**
**My advice: if you're specifically considering Kaiser Permanente customer service, talk to someone currently doing the job before accepting the position.**
The automated service is frustrating
The automated telephone service is outdated and needs so much improvement. I have been given so many different numbers and it sends me to the same maddening automated service. Once I actually get a person, they do try to help and try to connect me to appropriate number or department, but they end up having problems as well. A few of the representatives have taken great lengths to help and I appreciate the effort. The people who work for Kaiser are generally good and caring people. Lab departments also need so much work. I was given a kit without directions and was not able to contact a person in the lab. Tried to get directions online but none were available. It took a caring representative to leave messages with the lab and my Dr. I eventually had a person get back to me after several phone calls and messages.
This area of care and contact needs so much improvement.
I recommend Kaiser for their good service
I have been a patient of Kaiser Permanente since my first job at 18, excepting a couple of short term employers who did not offer it. Overall, my doctors have been good. They often refuse to work on chronic pain management, so I find myself dealing with that mostly alone. About 70% of advice nurses really care. Thirty percent rather obnoxious. Main point of this review, if you Have Kaiser, please do not let your employer talk you out of renewing with scare tactics. This happened to me. I fell for it. I had Western Health Advantage for 2024. I spent an entire YEAR unsuccessfully trying to get a doctor appt. I could not even get any regularly scheduled tests. Kaiser is Very Good about this. You just call, and schedule the test. I am very thankful for Kaiser Permanente. I recommend it.
Kaiser Carson medical offices…
Kaiser Carson medical offices Orthopedic department is exceptional, exemplary, and the epitome of professionalism and caring. Having surgery is a very anxious time in someone’s life; the entire staff from checking in to transportation, nurses and the doctors; the staff was amazing. The anesthesiologist and the nurses were very thorough in their explanations, the “time out” for identification and correct surgical was performed. The surgeon Dr. Ogawa identified me and they all made sure to ask me over and over what was I having surgery on! They made sure I was informed! Great professional staff! I felt safe and in good hands.
I am so sorry that I have to give a…
I am so sorry that I have to give a rating of a one it is below a one. My daughter has insurance with Kaiser and my grandson was so sick and he had an infusion last week and then she needed help by the doctor and they said well we'll call you right back and she waited on Friday they never called her back she called back again they said if nobody answers call back by 4:00 so she called back by 4 they said okay well hurry up and get someone to call you back they never called back calls today which is Monday she went down with so mad and talked to this guy that answered the phone and he she said I called you someone said they would call me back by 4:00 get back with me he said it was me but my electricity went out and gave her a bad story and he was very rude to her so she said I'm going down now to the doctor's office and he said well it closes like in 40 minutes and she says I'll go there so she ran there today when she goes in there there's not anybody in the waiting room nobody she goes I like to talk to a nurse there's no nurses they all went home like to talk to a doctor no doctor are you kidding me really I thought when my daughter was telling me this I thought that is negligence on doing that to someone that needed help. I don't know what's wrong with customer service or anything anymore but Kaiser Permanente is not treating their patients anymore with care at all zero I'm one pissed grandmother that they would do that to my daughter my daughter has enough health out problems and so does her son to give her all this stress that they give
