Brace Yourself

The care is good. It's everything else that's abysmal. Today, for example: Need "get care now" but a) unable to log in; and b) when I finally could, the option for actual get care NOW was nowhere to be found. Nurse tried to help and she couldn't schedule it for me either. KP's IT is terrible (another example: benefits docs are no longer available on line and won't be till "probably 2027" but IT can help. Nope. Took two months and a flaming online request to get the docs. Billing is another terrible area. I'd like to provide an example but there are too many. Horrible.

Tried to make a dermatology appointment…

Tried to make a dermatology appointment to which I am supposed to go every 6 months, however they don't let you make an appointment when leaving, you have to call. Try calling, typically get a rude customer service rep in a hurry to get off the phone, tells me I can't get in for 6 months and that if I have concerns about a spot to take pics and send them in, but they WILL NOT do my skin check plus address my concerns at one appointment. She gives me an apptmt in Bellevue instead of Renton where I go, and when I ask if she will be sending the address with the appointment reminder.... She says you can look it up, it's our Bellevue location or get it on the app. Tried getting on the app to look up appointmnet & send pics and it's slow as molasses, can't/won't download pics and is stuck in a perpetual cycle of thinking with the wheel circling. Insert sarcasm for way to go guys! I can't imagine if I were elderly and having to deal with this crappy service and loopholes. Once I get in, I will be happy with the dermatologists service, but meanwhile.....I wait to have skin cancer grow because of Kaiser's incompetent customer service, and poor practices.

Kidney stone and blood in urine

I went to urgent care for urine blood issue and after many test especially MRI and blood test I was give about 8 Pills of ibuprofen anti inflammatory and received a bill of over $1100 dollars and did not benefit me. The expensive MRI and tests that were not needed but an x-ray would do, was commercial business to make money out of the patient. I still could not sleep and in pain and the doctors did not explain any thing. I have to buy herbal treatment online to treat my kidney stone which they showed not important or need no care. My whole visit to urgent care was but a money making scam out of me and was not treated. Kaiser good at send bills but hardly treat a patient in pain in the past several years I was with them, Only when I am about to die then they sent me to VA medical center. Kaiser do not treat but manage symptoms and do not bother most of the time.

Just spent 2 hours on the phone trying to get information on my plan. I live in Colorado. Got sent to Alabama with no help. Got sent to California with no help. Both from their 24/7 lines. Apparently in Colorado, they’re closed at 6. Neither could provide me details because Colorado has its own set of rules. So, I’m out 2 hours, 2 states, several very confused counselors and I’m still wondering why my job offers substance abuse treatment when the provider of the treatment will only answer during the hours of operation I’m at work 6 days a week. I’m trying to find out if I make enough money to improve my health and it’s inconvenient for an entire state outside of all the others they represent. Why TF do I put into a health care without the care or the time? It’s the equivalent of the elevator operator that lets the elevator shut as you’re trying to get in and they smile like a dbag knowing they don’t have to do the one human thing required which was their job

My sister got me involved in kaiser…

My sister got me involved in kaiser Insurance about 5 years ago. I STILL have the same symptoms. I have fallen and should be healed by now, but I'm not. I still get sharp pains in my side. Nobody tells me what I should be doing to get well. they just speak in riddles so the patient can't understand. I still have asthma. They told me I couldn't get a stronger inhaler. Even though I have some inflammation at times and can barely make it back and forth from the bed to the bathroom and back without losing air. All they want to do is stick you or take the same tests. I am sick and tired of being asked Depression questions or acting like I have an alcohol problem, when I don't. They don't help you. They just want to suck blood out of you, literally and take your $. I have to find another Insurance company. And, I had to get an infusion one day. I had no clue it was to happen. Then the Nurse says your late. Very rude. I had trouble with the Elevator and NO; I was NOT late. The free ride thing. A JOKE!!!!! They used to send you a map to where your driver is and how long they will be to get to you. They stopped that which makes getting a ride living hell. The worse Joke of an Insurance Company.

I would like to take a moment to give praises to Mrs. Marissa, KP Pharmacist at the Alpharetta Location

I would like to take a moment to give special praise to Mrs. Marissa, one of the KP Pharmacists at the Alpharetta location. She was incredibly pleasant, patient, and understanding while working with my PCP's staff, and she truly went above and beyond to make sure I received the care I needed.

I was very concerned that I would have to wait for my diabetes injections, especially because of the updated test results I recently received regarding my M.S. Mrs. Marissa took the time to help me when she did not have to, and that meant so much to me. She made me feel heard, supported, and cared for.

I am truly grateful for her dedication and kindness. Please know that her efforts did not go unnoticed. I am also very thankful for your entire team at Nexiclin Medicine. You all are wonderful, and I sincerely appreciate the care you provide. Thank you!

Trying to make appointments is a nightmare, you tell them something about why you want make appointment ,then their protocol they state they gotta transfer you to a nurse, what's a nurse gonna do just talk some waste less nonsense, they start with "are you allergic to any medication" am all I just called to make appointment ,reason I called ....my point is one should have right to accept that or not ,to talk to a nurse .I wasted an hour on phone for nothing, my health condition before calling was a 7 , after calling was a 10 plus,worse....would save company money by simply just one calling and making that appointment .

I was in Kaiser Heacock location, Elizabeth in the check-in area is very irresponsible she doesn’t know what her job is. I checked in with her for my son appointment had been waiting for more than 2hours until I went to the nurse to ask why they are not calling my name she said that I was not checked in they thought I am not here and this was my second incident with Elizabeth last time I missed my appointment since she wasn’t able to check me in.

⭐ 1 Star- frustrating experience with access to Care

⭐ 1 Star — Extremely Frustrating Experience With Access to Care

I was a Kaiser Permanente member through my employer for years, and unfortunately, it wasn’t until I actually needed to use my healthcare benefits that I realized how difficult navigating the system could be.

When I was approaching 200 pounds and had an unhealthy BMI, I wanted to discuss weight-loss treatment with my doctor. Instead of being able to have a straightforward conversation with my physician and discuss whether medication was appropriate, I was required to take a class before I could even be evaluated. What should have been a conversation between a patient and their doctor turned into a long series of requirements and hoops to jump through.

I also repeatedly heard similar experiences from other Kaiser members, where seemingly simple things such as referrals or access to specialists required multiple steps and unnecessary delays.

Eventually, I switched to Anthem through my employer, and the difference was astonishing. I could speak openly with my doctor about my health needs, receive an appropriate evaluation, and get treatment without feeling like I had to fight the healthcare system first. I was able to start my weight-loss medication seamlessly and remained on it for about a year, making significant progress.

Unfortunately, when I later joined my husband’s Kaiser plan due to not having my employer and health plan available to me anymore, I found myself right back where I started. Because I wanted to continue my weight-loss medication, I was once again faced with the same bureaucratic process. I was required to attend a class, with the evaluation scheduled nearly two months out. By that point, my continuity of care would have been disrupted, and I was understandably concerned that months of progress could be undone simply because of the difficulty accessing the treatment I had already been receiving.

That is incredibly frustrating as a patient.

I understand that healthcare systems have policies and guidelines, and I am not expecting medication to be handed out without appropriate medical oversight. What I am asking for is reasonable access to a doctor and continuity of care. There should be a way for an existing patient who has already been successfully treated with a medication to discuss continuation of that treatment without having to start from the beginning and wait months.

My experience with Kaiser has unfortunately been consistent enough that I am counting down the days until I can switch back to Anthem during open enrollment. And this time, it won’t just be me. My entire family will be leaving Kaiser.

If you’re considering Kaiser, my advice is to look beyond the monthly premium and consider what happens when you actually need care. My experience has been that getting through the bureaucracy can be far more difficult than it should be.

I genuinely wish my experience with Kaiser had been different, but after having experienced both Kaiser and Anthem, the difference in accessibility and ease of receiving care has been enormous.

Avoid Kaiser - Your Life is too Valuable

Horrible experience trying to navigate a potentially serious medical condition and encountering delays, excuses, and a shocking level of rudeness. Kaiser is ok for the sniffles or an ear infection. Anything more, avoid at all costs. This is healthcare for people without options.

I remember when Kaiser was a highly efficient and good place to get health care. NOT ANYMORE. 2+weeks waiting for an MRI reading while in severe pain. I’ll make sure to change insurance with the next open enrollment because Kaiser ain’t cutting it.

One of the worst health care companies around! Miss diagnosis because Drs don't bother reading patients charts or test results! Overbooking appointments so you're rushed during yours, waiting to be seen 1 hr past your appointment time, hostile nurses that threaten you if you question why you're kept waiting. Not being able to schedule a appointment with a Specialist (optometrist? With no explanation why.
They are pill pushers who care nothing about curing you because they make there money from the pills!

Dr. Mindy Young-Reeve

Dr. Mindy Ann Young-Reeve is the ultimate professional provider and a highly skilled surgeon. She answered each and every one of my questions with poise and patience. She did everything to keep me relaxed during the procedure. Dr. Young-Reeve is an example of what every Kaiser provider should strive to be. She's the best at what she does.

The NURSING Staff in the 5700’s or the…

The NURSING Staff in the 5700’s or the 5th floor of the medical floor this weekend Friday 8/7 to 8/8/26 unit are very disrespectful and treated my mom like she was a burden when asking for assistance to the bathroom, and asked to hurry up. They didn’t control her pain or blood sugars. She was forced to sit down right after the CNA flushed someone’s else’s poop. And poop was still stuck. She ended up urinating on the floor and not having assistance cleaning up after a very intense and invasive surgery that lasted 10 hours. visitors from the other patient stayed until 2AM laughing and talking my mom and I never got a chance to rest. She could not rest to properly recover. Nursing staff didn’t ask the visitors to leave or be respectful when people are supposed to be asleep.
Patient Bathrooms were gross and the rooms are filthy. Vents above the patients beds have black dust. The house keeping wasn’t there all day Friday or Saturday. Trash wasn’t emptied and counters not cleaned.

I have no more patience to deal with Kaiser. The best way to be heard is to file a complaint with the los angels county department of public health. Kiddos to the few nurses on Saturday and to doctors who have better bedside manners than the nursing staff. The doctors spent more time with my mom finding solutions to help her (You’re amazing and you know who you are …..when my mom said she wanted out of that horrible place you made it happen and understood why. So thank you!

For those of you who want something done reach out to the Los Angeles county department of public health and file a complaint.

Signing up my business for Kaiser was absolutely horrendous. The sales rep didn't ask us anything and signed us up for random plans we didn't ask for and then said we can't switch them. No one sent us any information. They are terrible. (The only bright spot is their customer success team that tried to help untangle the mess afterward.)

Its a Cattle Farm..

Its a Cattle Farm... that what I keep saying...

I got back on Kaiser, option was either pay triple out of pocket or go on a family plan. So I made the choice to save money for the family.

Urgent care Not much help... Got my first PCP visit, doctor is nice and visit lasted less than 5 minutes... now waiting for my bloodwork... went to self check in.. my number that I picked and the one they are servicing, the gap was 30 people ahead of me... we are waiting like a heard of cattle looking at each other wodering what the heck?... wait times are ridiculous... and God forbid you need to see a specialist, you don't get to choose somewhere closeby, if there's only one option and its ridiculously far, you got no choice but to go there...

I am happy I got insurance but not happy it was with Kaiser...
