I have bought Kryptonite locks for a long time now and recommend them. However, this review is based on my contacting Kryptonite customer support over a failed lock. After sending them a message including the required photos, I was contacted next day by Oleh, Customer Services. After checking I had tried possible solutions, he arranged a replacement. It arrived from the USA to here in the UK in four days, less than a week from me raising the warranty issue.

This is absolutely the best 5* customer service I could expect and fully justifies both my own purchases and the recommendations I've made to many other cyclists.

When I wrote to Kryptonite about small problem with my lock, I was hoping they could sell me a replacement part. Not only did they reply quickly and helpfully, but they offered to send me an entirely new lock, free of charge! I did not expect this, and it surpassed all my expectations.

I've had bad experiences with other companies who wiggled their way out of warranty coverage. But this was NOT the case with Kryptonite. What a great experience! What a super company. (I would also recommend their instructional videos - which are very clear).

My lock developed a fault and I had a warranty replacement shipped out to me within 36 hours.

Had a problem with my old lock and the customer service team was easy to work with and they were on top of it.

Kryptonite support genuinely went above and beyond for me — they reviewed my case, explained the ATPO requirements clearly, provided the bill I needed for registration, and even arranged a replacement chain so I could register properly. Oleh in particular was incredibly helpful: responsive, patient, and very cooperative throughout the whole process, and he made a stressful situation much easier to deal with.

I just received the mini u lock w/key safe. THERE IS NO INSTRUCTION OR VIDEO ANYWHERE, NOT EVEN ON YOUTUBE. There's no discernable place to open it; there's no way to find where the keyhole goes if you cannot even open it. THIS IS STUPID. It's the 21st century and Kryptonite can't get a how-to video for each of their locks? THEY SURE HAVE ENOUGH MONEY!@

The customer service rep on the phone was so helpful and very nice. His name was Oleh and he made the process of helping me with my lock quick and easy.

Not just one kryptonite lock issue I have had but two

Both became troublesome with the key and lock mechanism not working all the time despite oiling it.

Will try alternative locks in future.

Worth nothing. Had kryptonite lock on my bike only took 2 minutes for a guy to cut it off with a wireless saw. The lock was rated 7 or 8/10.

For a company whose brand needs to be based on reliability and security, it has been a disappointment. The locks work fine, but their customer service and operations do not. Our locks came without the rewired tag ## to register the locks and bikes, we never received a promised email confirming we had registered our bikes. and simply trying to replace one of the registered bikes with a new one is now up to three unreturned phone calls and three totally illogical emails where someone clearly cannot pay attention to what is being asked.

Great service on replacement keys. Ordered 2 keys at end Oct 2025, keys depatched from USA on 5 Nov 2025 and arrived via post in UK on the 11 Nov 2025. 3 weeks from order placement on line to receiving keys in UK.

I am writing this comment because I expect my issue to be handled immediately.

I lost a key for my Kryptonite lock and ordered a replacement key from kryptonitelock.com. When someone orders a replacement key, it is obviously an urgent matter. However, after reading the reviews here, I have learned that shipping can take several months, sometimes even half a year, and that communication with the company is almost impossible.

This is completely unacceptable. I need the replacement key now — waiting several months defeats the whole purpose of ordering one.

In Europe, it is standard to receive order updates, shipping information, and tracking numbers. In this case, there has been no information at all since I placed the order.(except for the order confirmation)

Therefore, I demand that my order be cancelled immediately and my payment refunded unless the key is shipped and delivered no later than November 12, 2025.

Even though one bike light stopped working after 1 year, there was no answer on the claim for 1 month, when I called they answered in under 3 minutes and they will send a replacement. Nice consumer service and I hope the new one will last longer.

I ordered a replacement key on August 20. One month later I asked for an update on the order. I received a response that the key would be sent the following week. No Key. Three more requests for status have gone unanswered. It is now 2 months since my order and no key, no update. Irresponsible customer service. (Conf. #: 1755693838510)

Update: After posting this review on Trustpilot, I was finally contacted by Kryptonite, and they quickly sent me a replacement key and apologized for the delay. They also committed to refund my original payment, but I do not see that they followed through on this.
In any case, I appreciate that Trustpilot provided a platform for getting this matter resolved.

New Update: Kryptonite did credit me as promised. I missed it upon review of my statement. Thanks for the follow-through.

After aboiut 5 years service, my Kryptonite Evolution D-lock began to 'stick' when I attempted to lock / unlock it, with the key sticking at 90 degrees.

I emailed details to Kryptonite customer services, and at their request sent on a photo of the lock, which I had registered on purchase.

Kryptonite decided to replace the lock: I had expected them to arrange for it to be serviced.

They sent a replacement from the USA to London within 48 hours.

Kryptonite Locks are hard as hell to breakthrough it took me over an hour to break through a kryptonite lock i was testing their locks well made lock.

The most klunky, difficult to lock bike lock I've ever encountered. Had it now for over a year and I have problems with it everyday. Time to get something more bicycle friendly and easier to use.
