Bought Lorex home security cameras for…
Bought Lorex home security cameras for our home 4 years ago. I bought the extended warranty when I purchased them. The DVR went out a couple of days ago. I called the customer service/support today. Spent 2 hours on the phone with the most incompetent person whose english was barely understandable. I had already done the little things that they want to do such unplugging the DVR and resetting the reset button. She wanted to do everything that was not related to the problem. I kept jumping through the hoops that they kept throwing at me to try and get through this and start the process of replacement for a defective device that I had already purchased an extended warranty. She kept refusing to do it until I kept performing more and more things that she kept adding to. After 2 plus hours on the phone, I gave up dealing with her. You can not even get the contact number to their corporate office, it’s the same number as the their customer service. I’m through with Lorex and I will never ever purchase any of their crappy products.

Lorex customer service or the technical supports are brainless I am sure they lied on there’s resume to get the jobs. Lack of knowledge if something they dont know will give you wrong information . I spoke to many technical support in lorex for different matters however I spoke to Trisea about if there NVR is compatible with different brand cameras she was just guessing the answers and finally she said not you cannot use other brand cameras which is not true. Lorex needs techs who has atleast common sense.

Bought and installed a doorbell camera
Bought and installed a doorbell camera, wired version. Works great, app is easy to use. Also have been using Lorex cameras at my workplace which have been excellent.
Awful Wireless Camera System
Bought the wire free camera system. 4 wireless, battery operated cameras and the base station. Also purchased solar chargers to keep the cameras charged. The entire system is terrible. One camera had corrupted recordings about 50 percent of the time. Others do not record any events. They stop recording as soon as motion stops for a split second, no matter what the record settings are. Camera does not pick up my own vehicle on my driveway but will pick up random cars on the road. Just awful. Worst money I have spent. The issues are not connectivity related as we have gigabit WiFi and extenders that provide excellent signal strength. Called tech support for assistance and it was just scripted, basic troubleshooting.

I’ve had the camera system over a year…
I’ve had the camera system over a year now. Relatively easy to set up, but the batteries are useless. I got a 4 camera system, and two of the batteries will only give you a day or two between charges. When I initially contacted their support for a warranty, they referred me back to the supplier. The supplier ghosted me.
I ended up supplementing this system with some Blink products which work much better.
The Lorex Cirrus app is very basic and not the easiest to navigate and makes it feel very out of date.
It does however seem to have a reliable connection and is quick to send push notifications to your phone.
I would not buy another Lorex system based on the after sales support.

THEY ARE TOLD TO READ SAME SCRIPTS OVER AND OVER FROM THE MATRIAL THEY ARE PROVIDED. AGAIN.. SPEND $100 OR $200 MORE AND BUY A PRODUCT FROM A RELIABLE COMPANY.

**DO NOT BUY LOREX CAMERA SYSTEMS**
Ive had my lorex system for 5 years and have had nothing but issues since day 1. Reach out for help and nothing! Try chatting online and they will not assist with technical support. The lorex cloud app is useless and needs to be scraped. Ive deleted and reinstalled my app at least 20 times today and still unable to view my cameras from my phone. Tried the apps on other devices at home and face the same issue. Ive even tried downloading the other lorex apps and trying to add my device that way but the newer apps do not recognise my device! I just want to view my live feed when ever i want however its impossible! Sat at home I can see on the TV but no devices! Cant talk to anyone emails are not responded to. Worse purchase ever!

Frustrating experience
Bought their system 3 cameras work one doesnt electrician has tried and tried but its faulty. Get tied up for hours talking to tech support in USA who ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT entertain prospect of replacing camera. We are stuck with a malfunctioning system. I would advise buy from 3 rd party so you can just return it. To be fair the three cameras that work are ok but paid for 4. Talking to lorex directly takes hours and will get you no where.

Battery life is terrible
The system itself does the job. The problem we have is the battery life. I’m charging the four camera batteries every 3-4 weeks NOT MONTHS. So don’t buy into the battery life sales pitch. I did call and the gentleman confirmed my software was the latest version.
I wish I had bought it from Costco and not Lorex as I could’ve returned it.

I don’t recommend to buy
Very disappointed I purchased two systems for my businesses + 4 Wiif cameras we had some issues with it to record on HHD and one of WI FI cameras not working for over 2 months. didn’t last for one year , I contacted the support team couldn’t fix it and couldn’t replace it

Decent camera, awful fake tech support
Update: You will not be able to change your email address after you open an account. I spent an hour on the phone with these gaslighting abusers giving them tons of information they already had on file and more. I would jump through hoop after hoop and they they would create and make up another hoop lying that it was for security reasons. I'm more worried about these f**ked in the head reps then any outside source when it comes to my account/cameras. They will even ask you for info they were already previously given that they already have on file. One of the reasons they definitely do it is to get whatever info out of you that they don't currently have on file for you. Understand that they have no intention of helping you with the reason you called. One time in the entire time I have owned these cameras has someone helped me. That should tell you something all you need to know about what these people are up to. Your only possible protection and recourse is to file a police report and let them know they have all your personal information but refused to help letting law enforcement know they are data mining. I mean look up why most retailers won't sell lorex cameras. When the cameras work and have no issues they are decent. The fatal flaw are the fake tech support reps. The are just regular untrained customer service reps posing as tech support that read poorly from scripts. One out of maybe 15 might be able to help you. Each and every one of them have a different answer for the same issue. I even had one tell me my camera did not have a certain feature I needed turned on. I later found it myself. They are not even knowledgeable about the products the company they work for sells. Like most of the issues my camera has had (3 very common issues at most), I ended up fixing the issues myself with no help from them at all. The reps were rude disrespectful, unprofessional and no clue what they were doing. When one just gives up they just suggest replacing the camera and depending on who you are talking to you could get started on getting a new camera right away or another be really lazy and "escalate" it to another department and have to wait for a someone to call you back about sending out a replacement. I think one time of many someone successfully helped me. Insanely, each and every time you call they will ask you the model number of your camera even though it's right their in front of them on your account but yet they know exactly what you named your camera so they also love to gaslight customers. Another rep claimed I could not change my email address on the lorex app unless I removed my cameras and the list of ridiculous things I have been told by these clueless reps is goes on and on. It's very sad that lorex with their decent cameras are running their company into the ground 99% due to their abysmal fake tech support.

Had Lorex for over 5 years
Had Lorex for over 5 years, I view the 8 cameras at our cottage and home remotely from anywhere in the world.
When I needed information regarding some camera functions the help line people were very helpful.
Good value at a very good price for quality security cameras.
Will Not Honor Warranty
Lorex Technology has hired poor customer service representatives. I am highly technical. I spent 3 hours root causing a 3-week old camera of theirs. It is bad. It's under a 1-year warranty. They wasted 45 minutes on the phone with me to keep asking me the same information over and over. It is obvious they are resistant to honoring the warranty. They need to step up.

NEVER BUY
Purchased an open box set up from Lorex.com that included the cameras and DVR on 2/3/2023 while we were building our house so that we could easily run the cables during framing. House was finally done enough to hook everything up for the 1st time 3/6/2024. Cameras work great but system states there's no hard drive. Troubleshooted with Lorex customer service and they stated possibly the whole dvr needs replaced but I could try just replacing the hard drive 1st. They would not replace it or stand behind it at all since it's been over a year since purchased. So frustrating that they resell nonworking systems!!!

The greatest service. Cameras are excellent quality and so is service.
The person was very helpful and understanding.
The experience of resetting my password was very good. The person was very understanding and slowed down the instructions so I could perform the tasks she directed me to do.
